Introductions...
« on: December 24, 2010, 05:21:38 PM »
In an insignificant, yet fast and agile spacecraft, a bored Oswald Trulrur stared at the planet of Maltruse. He prepared to send a signal to whatever port authority existed on that world. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" he muttered.

I was in the...intergalactic neighborhood and thought I'd pop in. By pop in, I mean meet some people. I...uh...come in peace? Was the tranmission that Oswald had sent.

The Lorcar are living, Biological creatures, as are all of their technology...Even their ships. As such, normal means of communication dont work; they receive the transmission, however it sounds only like static noise to them.

However...They recognized that, while fast, the ship was at the least not hostile. Bees and Bumblebees-the names given to their smallest Bioships, considering they really did look like those insects, except the size of minivans and small houses-swarmed around the ship, all coming from the much, much larger Wasps and Hornet Bioships, those looking much like their namesakes, except these were the size of countries and continents, respectively. And, of course, the Hornet Queen...A Bioship the size of a planet, though it took no notice of the small ship. Flitting around between the ships were Worker Bees-The equivalent of Lorcar repair ships-and Yellow Jackets-their war frigates. Indeed, only the Bees and Bumblebees even responded towards the tiny ship. They combined what little psychic power each had individually-these small Castes are weak Psykers, after all-to send a message-directly into the new being's mind.

Why do you aliens like to send those static messages to us...? Is that some form of greeting between you? Its really...Annoying. In any case...Why are you here?

The message would also have a slight headache accompanying it; the weaker Lorcar weren't very good at transmitting psychic messages towards other species, and while a psychically-advanced species wouldn't have trouble with the message, it'd slightly overload the brains of species not as attuned to psychic abilities.

Smiling to himself, Oswald had known that there was a chance his ship's transmission wouldn't be able to be properly deciphered. Well, at least they aren't trying to blow me to bits, he thought.
Why was he there-- on Maltruse? He was there to talk. Though, he'd riddle this fact with the Lorcar for a while.

I am here to have words with what appear to be space insecticidal beings. Can I land now? My legs are tired.

If you wish to die a horrible death, then go right on ahead. This is not a threat, nor a indication of hostility, but merely a fact...Our atmosphere is laced with biological toxins and viruses. We're afraid that if you wish to speak with us, your legs shall have to put up with their exhaustion.

The Lorcar's answer was quite blunt, as they hadn't grasped that the person was trying to joke around. They simply responded in much the same tone as their first attempt to speak with him. The Lorcar weren't known for their sense of humor, after all...Well, amongst themselves they were, but humor doesn't always translate well between different species.

Oswald smiled again, then sighed. The toxins won't harm me, I can assure you. Besides, I know that you've had visitors here before. Am I wrong? Oswald knew, yet didn't know this. I mean, surely the Lorcar weren't isolationists. Every empire on the plane has come into contact with another collective at one point in their continuity.

OOC:Wait, this topic is currently nulled...Forgot that Oswald isn't approved yet. :/ So if you can get him approved, then we'll be able to continue, but if not...Sorry.
