Deadspace Kidnapping
« on: January 16, 2011, 12:44:14 PM »
The kidnapped viral particles are phased through the walls of material existence to a random point in between two galaxies, empty save for a few sub-atomic bits of gas and dust every few hundred thousand miles or so. Here, each particle is encased within a constantly shifting sphere, changing from containment method to method seamlessly and constantly. While originally a prison cage for mages, the spheres do well against anything known to utilize sudden and massive shifts in biological reaction to its environment. The spheres completely cut the virus particles off from anything and everything outside the sphere, preventing teleportation, planes-walking, and spacial/dimensional shifts. A massively elaborate and powerful setup for such a minuscule prisoner.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

(Huh... I thought it was an atom for every cubic meter...)

The Virus reproduced itself, and then tried to break out, by going against the barrier. Sure, the cage is designed to contain things that biologically change, but never something like this. The Virus began to adapt to how the cage holds it in.

Even as the virus starts to adapt to the original method, the barriers change methods. And as the Virus starts to adapt to that method, it changes again, the cycle continuing nearly endlessly as the barriers seem to disappear, though their containment effects still hold. Now, before each viral cluster stands a woman, tall and with flame-red hair. Her wings furled against her back, tail swishing lightly in an unseen wind, she smiles at the clusters as they inevitably attempt to infect her, only to find that 'nothing' was there in the first place. No magic to even sense, no spirit energy, psi, 'nothing.' The woman appears again, this time behind each cluster.

"Who are you?" She asks, her voice calling out to the clusters even within the vacuum.

The Virus said nothing. It simply adapted to all of the cage's methods, by trying all the counters to the methods that it has experienced. This made it inevitable for the Virus to break free, and it did. It broke free of the cage, and as soon as it went, out, it teleported away. Even if the cage changed its method of trapping the Virus, it wouldn't work, as the Virus would already be doing the countermeasure to that method. Very quickly, the Virus was gone.

As they tried to teleport, their environment changed, as if something had interfered with their teleportation. They found themselves submerged deep within the lava of an uninhabitable planet, lightning storms raging through the surface while cascades and tidal waves of magma surged below the ground. There, once again, were the cages, different this time. Now, they were trying to keep the viruses out. The woman now appeared before them all, once again her voice ringing clear over the roar of the planet. "Who are you?"

The Virus ignored her. It adapted to the environment. The Virus then informed the other parts of itself of the new discovery of the planet. It used a spell to locate itself in the dimension. However, the Virus in other parts of the dimension weren't able to detect the planet or anything going on where the Virus is. Several Infected Keepers went to the area, only to find nothing. Suspecting an illusion, the Virus decided to use the True Sight spell, or a spell that would negate any effects of illusions. Everything disappears to the Virus. The Virus and the infected ships then left.

((Such a lazy method, you can't possibly expect me to let that be all it takes do you? lol That's almost a Hawkeye-style move Gaserlake. I thought you could do better then that, I honestly did.))

Ah yes, the True Sight spell, banishing illusions from one's mind. A very useful spell against conventional illusions. Shame, however, that this is anything but conventional. As the Virus attempts to leave, the space around them warps, their casting of the True Sight the trigger for another powerful spell built into the first. The ships, now caught in the warp as well thanks to the lack of foresight from the Virus, accompany them to a land of pure white. A bastion within Nothing where existence can continue to exist outside of Existence, material or otherwise. There, the Lady stands before them all, wings outspread as she smiles at them. "You flee. Why? Do you fear me? I have not tried yet to harm you. Do you mistrust me? All I ask is one simple question that even the youngest of speech-gifted younglings can answer." She calls out, walking towards them in her gown of white, blending into the place so that it would seem her arms, legs, head, wings and tail simply floated, unconnected. Once again, she is visible only to those captured viral particles. The others see her as small motes of light, shifting, twirling and dancing like Will 'O Wisps on All Hallow's Eve.

"Who are you?"
