Challenge!
« on: January 17, 2010, 07:53:06 PM »
(The battle will take place here.)

A small portal opens on the planet's surface, just large enough to fit a single person. Through it steps a man, 5'8, in deep red leather armor studded with green crystals. "He's late. Is he such a coward he won't even show to his own death?"
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Grisham undid the magical spell that had cloaked himself from the eyes of his opponet after unleashing a barrage of mystical lightning straight at Areis intending to shock him to death before fighting him. Grisham was in no mood for pleasantries and he wouldn't introduce himself either. He quickly followed up the lightning by drawing his ordinary katana out of it's white leather and gold leather sheath. "Areis, I promised you a year and a day ago we would fight and I have been here ever since training to make good on my promise. To the Death."

(It's Arianos, not Areis. Learn how to read.)

A huge plume of dust flew into the air around Arianos as the lightening approached, obscuring Grisham's view of his adversary. A few moments later, a quiet laugh billows forth from the cloud of dust. Whipping the air around to clear the cloud, it looks as if Arianos has turned himself into a large, green crystalline wing. "You didn't honestly think such a basic attack as a lightening bolt could kill me, did you?" He says, a single thin spire of the crystal erupting up from the ground under Grisham's feet to attempt to impale the man.

Avoiding the attack of Arianos by jumping to one side he then thought of another spell in his reporteire. He then formed a web around Arianos by activating a spell he had almost completely finished. He said the finishing word. Now that his foe was held in place he had some butchering to do and so he unsheathed his white Katana. He then focused sage magic down the blade causing it to glow with white flame.

Laughing, the crystal starts to slowly expand, stretching the webs. "Honestly, you really think it'll be that easy?" He mocks, his silhouette visible inside the crystal. "Come now Grisham, make this fun!" He shouts, the crystal bursting through the web as Arianos steps back away from the webs, the green crystal wing extending from his left shoulder, spreading a soft green light for about five feet. "You really are a fool, just like always." He finishes, raising his hand towards the woods nearby. "Voco Ursus Arctos Horribilis!" He calls out, sweeping his hand to face Grisham. With the sweep, a grizzly bear soars out from the forest, headed straight for Grisham's left side. Following it right up was a quick fireball from in front, and a second green spike from the right.

Grisham decided that it was time to pull out all the stops in the battle and so he reached out to the cords of magic he had left lying around. 3 portals opened. One of the portals asorbed the spike, another asorbed the grizzly bear and lastly the fire ball was asorbed. Grisham then decided to retaliate. Igniting yet another strand of magic he had made, he opened a sink hole under Arianos, and a fire maelstrom above his head and formed a large crystaline structure of a blade in front of him.

Using his wing to leap backwards, Arianos smirks and shakes his head. "My my, you seem to forget that I have complete control over my wing and all it's parts. So I know where they are at all times." He sneers, opening a portal to swallow up the sword, the destination portal just to the left of Grisham, while the portal with the Bear opened up above him, the spike returns to attempt to impale him from the right, and the fireball from behind.

(Poor bear. He must have no idea what the hell's going on right now...)

Grisham noticed the attack and quickly redirected all the portals to the atlantic ocean to drown any attacks against him. Now he would stop holding back. He removed a set of gloves from his pocket and grinned as he put them on. It was a sadistic grin he had on his face as he shot 3 energy beams at Arianos knocking him out of the air. Next then Grisham made his sword return to his hand by means of magic. He then thought of a particular devious enchantment he could pull off that would end this fight rather quickly and so he removed one of his animites from his pocket and held it up into the air. "Falcone!" A Huge Pteradactyl like creature appeared in the sky. "Sick him." commanded Grisham and the Pteradactyl flew at Arianos.

Since the spike is Arianos' still, he simply makes more portals, returning the spells to their previous positions while sidestepping the Pteradactyl's charge and slamming his wing into its face, knocking it unconscious. "Honestly, I haven't even had to use my swords. Try harder, little man." He laughs, twirling his two swords in the air, flames swirling around them. "Burn in hell, Grisham." He growls, fire bursting out from the swords in four foot wide horizontal tornadoes.

Seeing the attacks coming at him once more Grisham teleports out of their range about a mile away and then decides to unleash a new spell of his, the Hades Inferno attack. It will burn everything for a mile in either direction except the user of the spell. He then unleashes said spell.

Arianos simply leaps backwards, literally ten feet out of the spell's range. Laughing, he reaches out towards the fire, opening up a tunnel in the flames, straight to Grisham. "Foolish." He says before curving the fire inwards against the caster, adding his own spiraling flame to the mix.

Now Grisham was angry and he saw the fire coming towards him. He held out his sword and let the flames be asorbed by a portal he had made in front of himself and behind Arianos another portal opened, this one sending all the flames even his own back at him. Grisham then held up his hand and fired an energy ball into the sky.  It began to rain Acid near Arianos.

Using his wing to deflect the flames to the side, he creates a bowl-shaped barrier over his head, with a diameter of about twenty feet more than the diameter of the acid storm. "Enough of this." He says, forcing the acid into the bowl and taking hold of the fire, swirling it about himself in a massive tornado. "You need to burn for your sins, Grisham! Peace comes not from murder!" He shouts, the tornado expanding as the bowl rises up above the maelstrom, angling itself towards Grisham.

Grisham then sees the Maelstrom of magic coming towards him and doesn't pay it any heed merely opens a canteen he is carrying. "Water Style, Tynado. " A Tornado of Water appears and counteracts the one of Acid and Fire that Arianos is controlling with his abilities. "Shark Tooth Fang Bite. " The area began to flood with water. (1/3 posts)

As the fire is no longer a class A, but a class B fire, the water only serves to further expand it, spreading the flaming spiral further. "Acids are often flammable, you've just created a fire even water won't douse!" Arianos laughs, slowly walking forwards towards Grisham. "Better be careful now boy!" He adds, conjuring his own acid to add in.

(Because you went and used water to further agravate a grease fire, it jumps by two posts. So, charge post 3, while you're water thing's been basically eaten.)

Grisham was quick to think of a solution to the grease fire and made a large towel appear over it smothering it out of existence. He then made the towel turn into several snakes which slithered towards Arianos to bite him.  (1/3 post of Serpent Summon done)

(lol)

Because the heat from the flames were still there, the snakes were simply cooked as they are summoned. Laughing, Arianos sweeps his arms around him, reigniting the flames, using the snakes as kindling. "Well, that didn't work as planned now did it Grisham?" He mocks, shaking his head as he starts fueling the fire faster, whipping air in as well as the streams of acid, while gathering a ball of the two, separated from the flaming twister by a powerful barrier. As he did this, he quickly flaps his wing towards his opponent, shards of crystal flying off. They melted as they passed through the fire, becoming globs of molten crystal that burned the grass under them as they soared towards Grisham.

Grisham then decided to use a technique of his he had learned from monks. The inversion was the technique he would utilize to finish them off.  "Neveritos. " He commanded and the glob of crystal changed direction coming towards Arianos. He fired lightning from his hand making an electrical field arounf the crystal to prevent it's course from being altered.

He laughs and simply redirects it anyway, since the crystal is tied to his own armor. This time, he combines the globs into five larger ones, and throws them each onto different spots around Grisham. The electrical field he counters by blasting his own compound bolt of violet lightening at his adversary, the more powerful electricity bursting right through the lesser fields, and straight for Gallaghar. All the while, the fiery cyclone continues to grow.

Grisham then makes a cyclone of substances that can put out the fire and unleashes them using his magic. Next he concentrates on the crystal which makes a super armor made out of crystal formed out of the armor and was changed by magic into a blood diamond knife. He hurled it at Arianos.

Grisham then used magic to make a hurricane of towels appear. The towel hurricaune enveloped the fire tornado. The towels then caused the flames to smother. His next step logically was to eliminate his opponet's ability to move and so he formed fires around his body then unleashed the attack that would wipe out Arianos out of existence. He seemed very mad and ready to fight.

Unfortunately for Grisham, the towels simply ended up catching aflame as well, serving to further fuel the fire as the wind was simply blowing ever more oxygen, causing the fire to grow at an alarming rate. And since Grisham did nothing to stop Arianos' lightening bolt, it barrels into Grisham, launching him right off his feet and several feet away yards away. The massive electrical charge courses through Grisham's body and muscles, causing them to spasm uncontrollably. The skin on his chest is severely burned, the robe now outright missing from the chest up, and his brain is overloaded with the huge charge, preventing him from thinking of anything.

(You just died. Game over, duel complete, Arianos Darien is the victor, and Grisham is dead.)
