The Story Of Radical: I Bid You Farewell -- Part One
« on: January 22, 2011, 05:19:34 PM »
It's a radical notion... That all living beings are killers... They will only destroy themselves in the end.
Long Before Time

Reincarnation. The idea that there are a few selected, chosen people -- special people -- who, after their 'death', are reborn... In those days, though, reincarnation was different. When you died, if you were on of those who were special, you would be reborn into a new 'cycle' of life. Those who reincarnated watched life progress, destroy itself, and start back over. It was as if those who were chosen to be incarnated were doomed to carry the memories of our ancestors and watch life destroy itself time and time again. We could not escape.

We couldn't bear it... The idea that any form of life was destined to destroy itself... Such a radical notion consumed us until we were obsessed with it... The idea that the living would never stop killing.. There had to be another explanation. When we realized that there was no other explanation, we tried to end our lives and stop watching it... Stop watching humanity. We would always just simply be reincarnated to watch it happen again. It was unavoidable.

Eventually, we isolated ourselves from the rest of life. We created a place for those of us destined to reincarnate to live away from the rest... And there, we began our to build our ultimate creation... We built what we thought was indestructible... We built HIM. But he betrayed us... And killed us for the last time... We were all killed by him, but when we woke up in the next cycle, we wouldn't remember the last cycles. Our memories were gone forever...

All except mine. I stood up to him after he killed the others. I wouldn't be like them. I wasn't about to enter a new life, oblivious to my last... So, I made a deal with him. If he could defeat me in a race, I would be allowed to keep my memories.. I raced him and won. Alas, I died by his hands, but I still remembered... Everything...

But as the years went by in the next cycles, I was alone. The others remembered nothing... And bit by bit, I hid my memories as well... I no longer wanted to be alone...

Present Day, Center Of "Hell"

"Lucifer" opened his eyes, astonished. He had been... asleep. For thousands of years, he'd been asleep. Now, though, he'd woken up, and he remembered everything... And with his memory restored, his curse was broken... He looked down at his chained body, wrapped around a tree, and watched as it began to revert from its slimy form to the form that he had originally bore -- that of a man.

He was Radical.. And he was awake.

He easily broke the chains wrapped around him, muttering slightly at how easy they were to break. "Our 'creation' never could tie a knot... Could it?"

He looked up at the center of "Hell"'s sky, shaking his head. "I bid you farewell, 'Lucifer'... Because I was never Lucifer to begin with."

The blue sky above Radical began to open to reveal a swirling, black funnel... And he flew straight into it, floating up the layers of hell. It was time to end what he'd started.. Once and for all....

He had to kill everyone.
