The fine art of escape
« on: February 10, 2011, 09:59:02 PM »
Freedom could only be obtained if one was willing and ready to risk everything they had for their own survival. A band of followers had accompanied him when he had fled the planet Zed hours earlier taking only the essentials. Stealing some data he had found out about the world of the barren planet. It would provide security for where better to hide 50 magic users than in a world full of magic users? Plus he could always make a shield around the planet with the aid of his book if need be. This time however he did not have a ship to go in and so instead was travelling via sphere. A sphere made out of his own magic coupled with that of the 50 followers.

His book talked to him. ?This is quite risky you know. If they attack us you won?t be able to use your full power there. Since there are so many of them.-
Carl ?I know. We will play things by ear. ?

The 50 followers began to grumble that they were hungry. Finally though the arrival had been accomplished and the large sphere with all the things needed to survive inside of it was floating above the barren planet. Diplomacy would come first of course so he could get a place for himself to stay if only temporarily. His book flipped to the page on communications and he decided to try a new one. Stones rose on the planet near the lead Lauren forming letters.

The letters asked for permission to land.

She looked at the letters, wondering why they were asking her specifically, then shrugged and got her best friend, Jenny. The two got the original transmitter running, then sent a simple transmission stating,"As long as you dont disturb the peace, go on ahead."

But of course Carl did not get the message. Obviously he would know not to disturb the peace of this planet however since he planned to hide in the general population. It would be the only way he could avoid trouble was to hide away for the time being. Well one of the best ways in this current situation. So he held out his fist and the rocks changed, into words acknowledging what she had sent via transmission. Now all he had to do was open a portal to the planet below so that he could get down there.

A sphere of energy formed in front of him and turned into a disc. The disc began spinning and became a portal that would allow him to travel to the planet below. Maneuvering the sphere with himself and the 50 inside it through the portal he waited until they descended to the planet. Once there, he collapsed from sheer exhaustion.

And was mostly ignored by those around; he obviously had friends, so its not like he'd need any aid right now. Most just ignored the display, those that paid attention merely interested if he died, some for the, ah, spare parts...Others for the potential meal he'd create. But they lost interest when it was obvious he wasn't dead; while many things were allowed here, murder was not among them. So until they're dead...They get their chance.

All of his friends slumped to the ground out cold as well. Each of them had pooled all their magical energy to hold the sphere together this long. Carl began to come to and saw his friends slumped around and opened his book. "Irridias." At that a black and silver colored barrier surrounded him and his friends temporarily shielding them from harm.
