...Alright, technically only the first one, but that sounds cooler.
This is mainly a topic to test out how well we can RP our stuff in battle, especially our un-tested technologies. Its an all-out war, with no alliances(EXCEPT that individual characters or very small factions may ally themselves with a larger empire), between the empires. For whatever reason, everyone's warring.
Here's the rules-
1. As I said, everyone's warring with everyone. For example, for the sake of this battle, the alliance between the Narrikans and Mechera would be broken. The exception, however, is for small groups and individual characters. For example, Hiro's Mercs could side with an empire, because they've got, what, 22 members or so? Yeah, they're too small to be on their own. However, since I think the Sons of Plunder have many capital ships and even a Titan(I think), they couldn't ally with the Relorians who are also a big empire. As well, the ASF wouldn't be allied with the Aralangs for the purpose of this topic, since they're both large organizations(well, maybe not in SP anymore, but still), but are shown to be very different in method. Individual MEMBERS from the ASF, though, that are characters could be a part of the normal Aralangs, or vice versa, if you so want.
2. Only approved stuff may be used. This topic is mostly for testing weapons and stuff you haven't yet been able to test without completely ruining your faction IC(because of peace conditions or whatever), so if its not approved, you've no business using it anyway.
3. All participating factions must have at least one territory, not including ships. If a faction loses all of its territories, they lose. As well, those territories must lie within the Shattered Planes verse, not outside it. Territories do NOT have to be owned by the empire in question, as long as you own the empire that DOES own it IC.
4. No battles are to occur until all participating empires are present(and their allied smaller factions, if applicable). By the same token, if you haven't already joined by the time this starts, then well...Oh well. Although I'll be lenient if you manage to apply within the first few posts in the IC topic, but once it gets moving, ye be out of luck.
5. Just saying to be sure, but ALL participating factions of this must be posted. Individual characters dont need to be said, as long as its obvious they're with that faction, but if they aren't normally with that faction they must be stated in here.
6. You cannot gain territories from empires that are 'Neutral', or basically not participating in the battle. That wouldn't be classy.
7. Three-Day Rule DOES apply for this. If you dont post for three days, you will lose that territory, just like IC.
8. This will be both the request topic, and the topic for determining the current standings for each empire. Individual battles, for the sake of understanding whats going on where, should be given their own topics(With Shattered War I in the title, as well the the aggressor and defender).
9. Not required, per-say, but when saying what factions you'll use, please include a (preferably humorous) account of how the faction got mixed up in the war in the first place, and how the individual characters and small groups got mixed in with the empire they're with.
10. Temporary pacts may be formed, but only for single battles, and only for attacking a territory. If the defending force is defeated by the double-attack, the victors must fight over the spoils of war. Sharing is not allowed, considering that for this, everyone hates each other.
If the idea proves popular enough, I'd like for it to get its own forum(though not sub forums except to archive past wars; having a mini-Shattered Planes would be madness xD). If not, then we can just use the coliseum, but either way.
