Black fur = created from the effects of the black aura. Notice how most villains and evil people wear black? Same principle. If their aura doesn't automatically tint their clothing black, they feel the simple need to wear it to reflect that aura. Some villains don't need that distinction and resist it, making them even more scarier at the fact they can appear all the more friendlier. Yeah, a lot of thought was put into this race.

He never speaks his mind, he's a complete mystery with his face devoid of all emotion. The only thing a person could really tell anything about him is if they saw his aura.
Darker than the darkest shade of black.

Biography:
Taaem was born of not from the ether of a Solstici mother, but through mortal means. The father was a Solstici mating with a being not of his race. This isn't looked down upon by the Solstici at all, and is actually a common practice, what with Solstici finding partners outside of their race. However, what isn't normal was the fact that Taaem was even born: Solstici are created from the ether of a Solstici mother, combined by the spirit energy of the two mates. The very fact that Taaem was born a Solstici without this process is a miracle in and of itself.
What is even more odd is that Taaem wasn't birthed in his home reality, Liiksu, like all other Solstici. He was birthed in a dimension, a separate reality far, far away and far more different than it.
