AntiTech
« on: May 21, 2011, 04:18:49 PM »
AntiTech negates any technology usage. It sends waves out consistently and when it intercepts wave lengths emitted from any technology (or, in fact, when it intercepts any technology at all) it scrambles the inner core of it and thus it can't work, sort of like how the Bermuda Triangle works. All readings go down and the usage of it ceases to exist.

AntiTech is also in the clouds if permitted to be, otherwise it stays locked on the surface of the planet. When it the clouds it actually is a cloud itself, basically. Tiny molecules that act like the main one on the planet mix in with the water and gases that make up a cloud and then it sits there, waiting until it receives information of any nearby technology.

If accepted, this is the only technology that will be permitted on Profundum.

It can't be any technology. Because there's several different kind, your antitech wouldn't be able to know them all.

No, this works like an EMP, only more advanced usage of it. Approved.

And if it's protected from EMPs? If something can get around her tech, then it can't be absolute on all tech.

Typically tech can't get past tech, but the usage of certain ground composites and metals like lead usually block the frying of tech from this sort of technology. On that note, Ino, I'd implement some sort of way for this technology to work on a molecular level, breaking down barriers like lead while frying the technology at the same time.

But what about sentient being that are tech. Like the Mechera or Delta. Self-sustaining pieces of tech.

Like delta... he can survive by literally harnessing electrons in space... and what about none electronic machines and tech?

Maybe it has an affect similar to the Outerverse or Zanned.

What about technology that is impervious to EMPs? They work by causing the hardware to fry through static bursts and the like, we're in the future, technology can range from anything. It can be powered by electromagnetic waves, through beams of energy instead of microchips. Hell, quantum computers will eventually be powered by atoms that are being affected by hundreds of different ways, we've spun an atom using light. You can't group every single technological innovation and just say that it fries it.

That's exactly what I was trying to say but didn't have the science knowledge to explain it.  :-\

Okay, so it's not an EMP effect.

Well, until it gives an reasonable explanation for the effects placed on technology, and how it effects every single type of technology.

It has a database that can read every technology based by what it's made of and the general "feel" of it.

The airborne particles can fuse with the gases in the atmosphere and when it does it makes a metal-eating acidic like compound that eats away at the iron and whatever else the possible technology is made of, however only technology. The waves emitted from the technology on the ground intercept the waves emitted from the tech and then it fries the tech intruding in on the planet because it overloads by trying to read the planet and having the interfering tech mess with it's readings. Think of it like a compass that gets fucked up because a magnet is getting in the way so there's a barrier between the readings of the tech and any of it's usage and abilities.

Electromagnetic waves wouldnt be able to penetrate shielded objects, and there are some metals or other materials that are far to complex to be easily disolved by acid.

It's not exactly acid - it's more potent. And sorry but I personally prefer when other people look at my stuff, not you. Thanks.

He's right, though, shields will be a problem for you. Shielding technology generally shields most technology from this sort of effect, because the part of the shield that can be affected is on the inside not the outside. If I were you, I'd come up with some non-technological explanation about why technology doesn't work there.

That would probably be easier. Should I make a new topic? Also, the tech is actually derived of the natural causes which is why I mentioned Bermuda Triangle? Everything just drops, signal, usage, all of it cut and thus deceasing the usage of any tech. The people on the planet can't even use it.
