A pulse of energy went out from the Cosmic Palace which would be where the scythe would be at the moment in time hidden inside a cylinder and guarded. Guarded no less by a metal being that had all sorts of metal tentacle like things he would use to attack. The being was a creation of Rezick left there to guard the scythe until Carl could find the being and face him down in open combat. Soon Carl would arrive. His future self was watching this moment in time to see what would happen. To see if Carl would win or lose, pass or fail.
