Stryder Style: Beatdown
« on: June 03, 2011, 06:46:09 PM »
((This is solely an OOC friendly fight 'til first blood. Open invitation, just to test how good I am at fighting fair with Jay's power.))

In the paradox space of the universe sat an unused arena; barely ever used.
Suddenly a white light flashed across the arena, blowing away all of the dust and giving colour again to this unused space for battle. A young man materialized on one side, a bronzed greatsword on his back and a gun slung on his waist. This man was Jay Stryder.
Master, to prepare you for being a Templar Elder I have prepared a battle for you. Regardless of what happens in this fight neither of you will be permanently harmed or die.
The voice of the Temporal Citadel of Inarin boomed in his head, clearly sometimes his planet had a mind of it's own.
"Who's enough of a dumbass to fight me then?" Jay laughed, drawing his blade.
Jay's challenger((YOU!!)) materialized on the other side of the arena.

http://safebooru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=128524 A man appeared in the area at the moment in time but he had a book in his hands, a staff holstered on his back and a silver rapier sheathed at his waist. It was the grown up version of Carl Dolos. "Let's see if you can handle this. Air that is once a gentle breeze shape your form into that which I desire, cut through my opponents. Wind Blades!" He sent dozens of wind blades at Jay.

Jay grinned and lifted a finger at the oncoming barrage. He began to rotate the finger counter-clockwise and the blades of wind began to slow down drastically "Hooooold it" He chuckled. Jay's hand then moved to join his other hand on the hilt of the Sword of Ages as suddenly he began to speed up, as if time around him had slowed; He began to run at Carl, the blur dashing and dodging between the blades of wind now suspended in time before him.
As if out of nowhere Jay was now before Carl, his blade falling in a downward arc towards Carl's shoulder.

When the blade was near his shoulder, Carl disappeared. Or at least it would seem like that. He had taken himself and transformed himself into the ground itself, which reached up and grabbed at Jay at the moment. Several dozen stone hands rose to attempt to grab Jay. But Carl had not teleported, portaled or shadow traveled. No he had used an order warp to get to his destination.

"Now that's just cheating" Jay laughed as his blade planted firmly into the ground before him. It'd been thousands of years since his last real battle; The adrenaline was causing his usual cocky attitude to surface more than usual as he constantly made jokes. Time slowed once again around Jay, to Carl it would have seemed like Jay had become superfast once again. Jay began to run again, swiping at the various hands coming up from the ground.

As he slashed at the stone hands they would go back into the ground before they could be slashed. This time crystal spike balls would be launched at Jay, weirdly encased in a barrier of stasis of sorts.

Just as the crystals were about to hit Jay, he disappeared entirely; seemingly reappearing at the opposite side of the battlefield "Now where did you learn to do that?" Jay muttered, a menacing grin forming across his face "This make's things more interesting. But so does this." He sheathed his sword for a moment and literally grabbed the earth below him. "Rewind."
With that, all of the hands seemed to retract into the earth to draw out Carl Dolos as he was moments before. This was the Templar skill of rewinding, greatly amplified by his sword. "I was getting sick of fighting the ground." He laughed, drawing his sword once again "Come at me, bro."

The moment he rose out of the ground Carl disappeared once more. This time around however he did not go into the earth, as the entire area lit on fire. And not just any fire, but fire with stasis field properties to it as well so they could not be affected by Jay's powers directly. He then concentrated and waves of fire, and blasts of fire and orbs of fire came over at Jay to strike him.

"Man you're a pain. Could at least speak yo" Jay laughed, dancing betwixt and between the flames; Narrowly dodging them each time they came near. If he happened to fail the dodge, he would simply appear in a different area around the arena "Alright, I can't directly fight fire. You've got me there" He smiled.
At that, he plunged his wrist with The Hook attatched into the main body of the fire "So i'll have t- Urgh.... Draw you out." The power of the Hook drew the flames back into the influence of time, into the influence of Jay's power, as the flames reverted back into Carl before him and Jay's arm began to heal "Fight like a man. I can do this all day." He goaded his opponent, grinning.

Transformed back into normal Carl pulled out a silver rapier from a holster at his waist and looked over at the man he would have to engage. Now he would stop holding back as much, and his book levitated in front of him opening up to a special page that had some of the more advanced spells written on it. His eyes glowed, and he began to chant the spell that would hopefully end this fight. "Sinners burn in the perdition of the flames of the Zealot, unleash my wrath in a corporeal form, Zealot Flames!" Golden and platinum flames would consume the entire area, but would not harm Carl only directed to harm Jay, and these flames could not be rewound.
"Take that."

((OOC: The Hook kind of prevents things from not being capable of being rewound but hey, i'll roll with it.))

Just as Carl was about to finish his incantation, Jay placed a finger on the book. One single finger. "I've been taking it easy." He grinned, the book freezing in Time completely and disappearing from either of their grasps. He tied this freeze to the duration of their battle.
With that, the whole of existence seemed to speed up around Carl as Jay had slowed his opponent.
The Templar took a single step back to admire his handiwork, the now incredibly slowed magic-user before him.
He sighed, taking the Sword of Ages and nicking Carl's slowed down cheek; Drawing a little blood.
"First blood, my win bro." He smiled, unslowing Carl "You can try to magically break my freeze on your little book there, but in the time it'd take you i'd probably just smack you 'round with this bad boy." He patted his blade "You give up?"

Shadows came out of the walls to wrap around Carl the moment the book was frozen in time. With the book frozen it made Carl angry. Quite a bit angry at the moment in time as well, as a knife appeared in his hands with an obsidian blade to it of sorts. He threw the blade at the head of Jay to take him down.

As the blade approached Jay's face it slowed drastically before stopping in mid-air, frozen in time. "Hello. This is new." He chuckled, sidestepping around the knife. Jay slowed time around him once again, running behind Carl and roundhouse kicking him in the head. The speed of this hit would have logically been enough to knock someone out.

Jay had failed to take things into account however, and one of those things was that Lucien had been trained by Lucas one of the best combat masters in the dimension. The foot of Jay was grabbed and twisted, then Lucien spun the foot around or would attempt to, but you should never take the object of the possessed away from them. A ball of light formed in his hand, a large one. He was about to slam it into Jay.

"Alright. Game over." Jay laughed, his opponent had managed to grab his foot yes but Jay had much bigger plans. Now he had contact with his opponent. "Big mistake." With that, Jay snapped his fingers "Templar art. Freeze." He muttered; Carl had been completely stopped in Time. "I wanted to win fairly." He sighed, walking around Carl "It's a shame I have to stoop so low as to freeze you but hey, you weren't gonna give."
He sighed and started to walk away "You would have won too; Wish I could use magic as well as that"
Jay began laughing as he faded away.
With that the battle was over; Carl was unfrozen and his book returned to him. A portal opened before Carl to allow him passage home.

"You're not done yet Mr. Templar." A muffled voice said from the darkest area of the room, the shadow alongside the corner seemed to be darker then it should be, as if something was making it darker. The end of a long piece of bandage was just outside the shadow's grasp, leading into it. "You're dealing with me now." A man, bandaged head to toe in bloody, and slightly burnt bandages.

With a slight shimmer the air grew heavier, and everything but Jay and the Bandaged man slowed to a crawl.

Jay turned to face this new challenger "...Well, this is a new one." He chuckled "You clearly ain't a Templar. Your technique's really quite... Crude." He commented, gazing around the now slowed arena; This was clearly the work of some form of space distorting magic "Looks to me like you might pose some actual challenge. Can I at least ask your name and shit before we start duking things out?" Jay grinned, drawing his blade.

"Duke." The muffled voice called out before a rolling orb of distorted space was launched in Jay's direction, the spatial disturbances in the orb was creating a kinetic maelstrom on the molecular level, any solid matter hit by this would be ripped apart.

"Call me Jay, bro." The Templar laughed, Time seeming to return to normal around the fighters. At that, Jay seemingly disappeared and reappeared behind Duke. He swung his mighty blade directly at his opponent's head; If this hit connected it would have been the easiest win for what seemed like a tough opponent. Jay had a contingency plan, of course. He knew this wasn't going to hit.

The sword was an inch away from making contact with Duke, only for the blade to appear slightly distorted behind Jay's own neck, the space around them warped in such a complex and subtle way. If this work, it would've been the world's funniest suicide.

Jay let one hand go from the hilt of the sword and ducked just enough for the swing to miss him, however it did knock off his hat. He staggered back lightly, his sword now reforming after his full swing "Hokay so straight attacks are a no-no." A brief grin ran across his face as he once again slowed time around him to make it seem as if he had sped up entirely. He then summoned a simple fireball out of his palm at his opponent, which seemed to be superfast in comparison to the rest of the world.

((As a general thing, Jay does know basic magics. Low level shit like small fireballs/lightning bolts))

The fireball reached the halfway mark between Duke and Jay before it slowed down to a crawl, and Jay himself "slowed" down to normal speed as the space around them stretched, and the area around Duke compressed, speeding him up. Another orb was launched towards Jay, the space before it was compressed, increasing it's speed dramatically.

Jay waited until the ball was as close as he could cut it to himself before speeding past it and straight towards Duke. As the ball's speeding was due to space around it being compressed, logically as it came closer to Jay space near Jay would have been compressed too; Giving him a massive speed boost. The Templar grinned as he launched off another fireball at Duke.

Of course, the theoretical speed boost depended on the radius of compressed space, which was made to be as small as possible, only a few centimeters out from the orb itself. Meaning Jay was allowed no increase in speed, and without a word the fireball neared him, but as it came closer it literally ripped apart. Hitting an area of heavily distorted space, a barrier in fact.

"You will never touch me."

Jay allowed time to return to it's normal flow and laughed lightly "Actually...You're right. We'll fight again when i'm stronger yo. You win" He smiled and waved at Duke before using the Templar Art of Traveling to move into a different Timeline and move back into the Alpha one back on his planet of Inarin.

Although I did not know where your second opponent came from, it was still a cowardly act to simply just run from him.

"I ain't dumb. I'm gonna run if I know I can't win."
