"You were just acting the way you knew how to do with strangers." He shrugged. "Its not your fault."
Cail came back in leading seven kids around the age of eight. Two of them were singing "Kaylee and Simon sitting in a tree..." While a little girl with brown hair pounded after them and a boy with brown hair walked shyly into the room dragging his little sister, a girl with pale skin and black hair, with him. Her head was swinging to its own invisible tune as he dragged her.
"Mal, Jayne. Stop teasing." Alik told them. "Kaylee, no running in the house, remember?"
They groaned and the teasing subsided and Kaylee came to a halt, glaring daggers at the two boys. Jayne, the bigger one, looked almost like a twelve year old. The second, Mal, looked down and scuffed his toe against the floor.
Another pair came into the room, a dark skinned girl with brown hair and a fierce demeanor was followed by a little blond boy. They were arguing.
