The early morning train from Kayladin to the capital was just about to pull in to the station. This one was being ridden by train workers, businessmen, vacationers, and the unemployed. This was always the case. People traveled on this route every day. One man amongst them was doing it for the first time. He had ridden this route several times before, but never for this reason. He was going to sign up for the election. He wanted to be a senator. He wanted to change the world. He wanted to save the civilians.

Half an hour later when he stepped off the bus he was hardly nervous at all. He had wanted to help the poor since he was eleven years old, and this was a new way for him to do so. It was an effective way for him to do so. When walking in to the receptionist he said, "Uh, hello. I'm Zaigen Yevit. I'm here to register for the senate election?"

The receptionist smiled one of those forced 'I have to this every day so make it quick' smiles. "In order to sign up for the senatorial election, you have to go to the Heart of the Council to sign up." She informs him and gives him a map. The Heart of the Council was in the middle of the city, only ten blocks away.

"Thanks," he said. "But I've also heard you need a copy of your certificate of birth when you register. Mine would've destroyed when I was very young, but I know I could also get a passport in cases such as mine. I filed for it at my home in Kayladin and I'm here now to pick it up."

Zaigen looked at the old, old lady on walker. "Some queue," he thought. He was used to discrimination though.

One hour later Zaigen came back into the office. He was really mad at the receptionist, but kept his face as stolid as possible. He didn't want to offend anyone. Lucky for him, the old woman was gone. He could go ahead and speak to the receptionist. "They didn't have it," he informed. "After about an hour of searching they told me to go to immigration."

In my very first post I was nondescript about where exactly he was, but I was intending the Heart of the Council. I just didn't know what you would be calling it.

I know your going to ask, so here I tell you. If he's not going into the right building the first time then it ruins any credibility he has because he's been studying government for a few years now. Knowing which building is which is basic of basic politics. If he doesn't know that after so many years of studying and the first graders do then we have a problem. It's also out of character.

Also, I thought it was a nice save. Not every government operation would be in the same city. I've already said that this was the capital. Do Congress, the FBI, the Supreme Court, EPA, and the President all meet in the same building? Nope. I had him at immigration because leaving the country is the main reason to have a passport. He needs his passport to affirm his identity since he has no birth certificate. Honestly the whole thing was just to keep him from looking stupid (which I will not tolerate).

There are two ways this can go down now. One, you can have the receptionist talk to someone and produce the certificate, or we can null all but the first post. The second option tampers down on new found depth though, don't you think?
