Inari was Lost!
Wondering about the Outerverse aimlessly, it felt like the young Fox Sage had been walking for ages. Of course, why she was walking when she could just as easily fly or use magic to get around, one could only wonder. But Inari wasn't the brightest of sages. In fact, one would call her an air-head. Ditzy and naive at times, Inari was slow to catch up on things, and an all around gullible fool. That's what had wound her in with Hikaru's 'crowd,' in the first place. Working for evil. Or at least, working for someone who thought they were evil.
Hikaru wasn't really the type you would call evil and as such, Inari was never the type to follow evil. So why would the young Fox Sage follow someone like that? Even if they weren't pure[ evil? Simple. Inari was a follower, not a leader. Even back when she had been a child. Inari was the type to follow the much older and more knowledgeable sages than herself, even if they weren't the best of people. It was this habit that usually ended in her falling into trouble. And in fact, it was the way Inari had first met her Mistress.
Inari had found herself taken advantage of by a group of the older Fox Sages in some plan against another race of sages that lived near them. It just so happened, that the village the plan took place in was a village Hikaru was there to destroy by order of Hikaru's former teacher. Abandoned by the scared off group of Fox Sages, Inari had been left to be killed.
Either Hikaru hadn't seen her, or had spared her intentionally, Inari had lived. Seeing Hikaru as someone to scare off the type of people that took advantage of her, Inari had chosen to follow the older Phoenix Sage, in hope to pick up the magic insight needed to become someone of great power. At first she failed as Inari had only annoyed the older Sage. But eventually Hikaru accepted her as an apprentice. Of course, Inari didn't know that Hikaru was only using her as a means for errands and other things the older more wise Phoenix Sage didn't want to do herself. But that's why Inari was gullible. She was too trusting of other people.
Now her 'mistress,' was gone and Inari found herself searching high and low, going to every lengths to find her. The last she had seen Hikaru was back on Aralia when she had helped her mistress escape jail from the Aralangs. Then they had parted ways when Hikaru was freed and had gone to rescue her brother K2323 from the Virus in Japae. That was the last she'd seen of her.
And now, just recently, Inari had lost the sense of her former Mistresses magic signature. It was like it had vanished! Almost as if she had died... But she couldn't have. Inari wouldn't accept it. It was that stubborn thought that had led her here to the Outerverse. The former land and most treasured sanctuary of the Phoenix Sage. If her mistress was anywhere, it'd be the Outerverse.
