The Carnival Grounds

The Carnival Grounds seem to go on for miles in every which direction. Lining the streets of Westhot are all kinds of thrill rides, booths, and parades. Everyone is having a good time. Security agents from the GOL, the hosts of the event, occasionally can be seen walking up and down the streets making sure everything is in line.

A giant banner reads nearby:

The Anrufe were busy people, but even they wouldn't miss something like the Festival of Waves. It was only the most well advertised event of the century. It gave the members of the Anrufe a chance to discover the capabilities of other empires and.. well, frankly.. To have fun.

Many Anrufe "citizens" lined the streets as the festival opened, some even participating in the Opening Ceremony parade. Jikore had been working on a float for the parade for some days, made of ice. Decorated across the float were the words "For the Anruf-"

The "e!" of the sign got melted off, quite by accident, by Red Zero, who accompanied Jikore on his float.

Other Anrufe members tried to keep out of the public eye. KiaB and Assassin quietly enjoyed some hot cocoa from a bustling cafe which was decorated with carnival ornaments. Reli stood on a city street, observing people.. Everyone was somewhere. Even the rarely seen Sirius was present, waiting to engage in a hot dog eating contest.

The BG wasn't stupid but he had decided to dissolve them at the moment in time to make they were safe at the moment in time. Now he looked at each one, and gestured. Twenty Magi-Androids came out and set up the float that was needed at the moment in time for them. It was a Narrikian Float.

Abaddon, the great Destroyer..was playing tennis. A smile locked onto his face as he hit the ball so hard it literally burst into flame, which of course frightened the other player and caused him to run away. Leaving Abaddon the victor by default, the grin widened as he realized he was only a few matches away from winning the GOL sponsored intergalactic tennis championship.

Matry and the Commander wandered throughout the festival, the Commander in his full Inquisitor armor, and Matry wearing nothing but a shirt and shorts, and his trademark goggles. They were always under the eye of six hidden Locust operatives, along with the Omega which was in orbit, only half-staffed at the moment due to most of them going to the festival. It wasn't defenseless by any means, the VI hub had been placed in control of most systems. But there was a presence, a very familiar presence that just didn't seem to leave the two alone..a man in a black, with a skeletal arm.

A family..of six in total enjoyed the carnival in all of it's glory. They knew the time was close, and they knew they might not all survive.

Slingah moaned, forcing himself to wake up. He opened his eyes, albeit very slowly like a drunken person suffering from the morning hangover.

But Slingah was not drunk by any means. He had to experience something that was called 'ungrounding.' His head was still throbbing like crazy, but he still made an effort to stand up, leaning every which way while he attempted to regain his bearings. In short time, he did, as he walked out of the alleyway.

"... What the hell is this place?" Slingah murmured, as he watched in awe at the scenery around him. It was... an amusement park? It was hard not to be surprised at the scenery.

Yggatte, the Solstici, appeared in a bright but instant flash of colors, the effect one gets when one teleports with Aura alone and not magic. Yggatee stood there, in the middle of it all as he took in his current surroundings. "... What's this place? It's not like that other place I was at..."

Delta stood next to Red on the float... "Very interesting..." he, uttered.He saw the narkian float and smirked. "Take look.." he said jokingly to the members. His hologram flickered from blue to red for a second and went back to normal finally.This event was gonna be great.

Keith and Denera had followed Sirius coming here, and had been seperated from him by crowds. At first, they looked all over for him, but then they just decided to go have fun. He was a adult...Person...Ish. He could take care of himself. Currently, Keith was showing Denera to a water-dunk contest.

Zakary and Sara were walking through the fairground, looking at the spectacular light displays. "Oooh! Crafts!" Sara said, dragging a sighing Zakary over to look at the significantly less interesting overpriced homemade dolls.

Addler vas Vacon was watching over his grandchildren who were attempting to get a stuffed teddy bear from one of those bottle knocking over contests. In the end, they turned to him and begged him to help.
"No." He said.
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaese?" They asked together, making puppydog eyes.
"No." He said.
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease...?" They asked again, tugging at his pants leg.
Addler rolled his head and succumbed to the adorableness. He picked up the round ball and threw it at the bottles. They tumbled and the owner grudgingly gave them the giant stuff teddy bear.
"Thanks Grandpa!" They said, hugging his legs before getting the bear which was twice their size. "Can we get cotton candy now?" They asked.
"No." He replied.
"Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease...?" They said, doing the puppy dog eyes.
Addler sighed. It wasgoing to be a long, long night.

The Zarethian float, which resembled the head of a dragon breathing fire, was paraded around the little area. A mage was riding on top of the dragon's ears, waving his hands and doing little fire tricks in the air, like juggling.

At the carnival area was Lucien Dolos, one of the last of the dolos family at the moment in time. The family had been mostly extinct for himself but he was not worried as this was one of his days off and a time he could lay back and relax. Taking in the sights of the park at the moment in time, Lucien looked around and saw Addler. Remembering the picture he walked over towards him, so that he could see what was going on at the moment in time.

Noticing the kids that were with him, Lucien forced a smile on his face and formed pendants in his hands, a gift for the kids. The pendants would focus and hone their magical capabilities so they could grow stronger. It was a wise decision at the moment in time to give them a gift, as it might earn him the good will of the Zarethians.

But unlike normal times he was clad in his armor all except for the helmet which he had not finished working on at the moment in time. As he traipsed over to where the children were he considered what Addler's opinion of him would be at the moment. Well he had hopes that it would be a good opinion of him as opposed to a bad one. "Hello Addler. This is the first time we have met."

Out of the black guard, Victor was the only one to survive. His trickery had worked, and the galaxy thought he was gone at the moment in time. Which worked well for his plans, very well indeed. Of course he had none of his money, but that would change after today. For he had come here to rob quite a few people of their money, wallets, credit cards and the like while he was here at this event.

The parade continued for some time. Hardly anyone would have noticed when a few GOL security guards fell unconscious and were dragged into an allyway..

Leon Vasuta, a reporter for the Galactic Times, could be seen in front of a camera man. The camera watched as the end of the opening parade rode off. Vasuta was speaking..

"And there you have it, folks. The festival is officially on its way, and we already have an incredible turnout here. Let's go speak to some people and see how they're enjoying the event so far, shall we?"

He walked up to Vacon, thrilled to see such a prominent politician.

"Here we have, folks, Mr. Vacon, admiral of the Zarethian fleet.. Mr. Vacon! What do you have to say about this evening?"

Yairhoff Haydenn, a Zarethian hand agent, slyly stood watching the tennis matches, blended in with the crowd. He, at one point when nobody was looking, walked up to a GOL agent and whispered something in his ear.

Nek Atlas was present as well, though sure not to be spotted by the Anrufe. He tried to blend in with the crowd as best as he could, also enjoying the fun.

Approaching Nek was the son of his template, Will Atlas that had come with Ezra Tan who had just teleported into this area. The dazzling lights were annoying to Ezra who spent most of his time in his lab, but with Ken busy well Ezra had been ordered by Ken to take him to the carnival as he wanted to do at the moment in time."Father is that you?"

Ezra looked at Nek, sensing his magical signature and recognizing it as similar to that of Ken Atlas, but in the same way different. Will Atlas had not yet been taught by him to sense magical signatures, one of the reasons he had brought Will to this situation currently. It was part of the lessons, and a bit of a reward for training so much at the moment in time. "I know you aren?t Ken, so who are you?"

Meanwhile Lucien walked slowly over to the children of the famous politician Addler vas vaccon, he materialized a couple of amulets in his hands as he walked over to where the kids were since he planned to deliver a gift to the children. The amulets would help hone and draw out their magical potential so that they would grow stronger. "So, Addler how is your day going at the moment in time?"

Conniving and making a scheme Victor snuck through the shadows over to one of the citizens that looked to be more foolish. Using an elastic arm spell he reached out to grab the wallet of the person so that he could take the money from that person. The money did seem useful at the moment in time and he would need some money for himself anyway. Now all he would have to do is bide his time and hope the person did not notice.

When Lucien saw Addler he was at wits end, his normally clean black and grey hair pulled out in places and messy. He was running after the kids who by now were holding giant cotton candy cones and going every which way, looking at the fire works. When Lucien gave them the pendants they said, "Thats boooring." Before tossing it back to him and running off to look at the next big thing.

When the news reporters found him, Addler was carrying around the giant teddy bear, a stuffed dragon, two cotton candy cones a foot high and a fluffy unicorn sticking out of his pockets. His eyes were wild and so was his hair, even worse than before. The kids were standing next to him licking giant snowcones.

"This evening... has been very... hectic." He said to the camera tiredly. "Its not even over yet..."

Zakary was still standing by his wife's side as she piled him with the crafts from the one store. Two boxes of dolls alone, another box of pottery on top of those. "Can we go no-" He asked before being interrupted by Sara's shout of "OOOH SHOES!"
He sighed. A very long night indeed.

Catching the kids might make himself good with Addler at the moment in time and so Lucien pushed a button on his suit's gauntlet. Or would have, had he not thought the better of such madness and instead decided on something else. He dashed over to the kids and materialized a trail of a zarethian sweet out of magic, leading in the direction of Addler the treats floating there. The kids could go after it if they wanted to.

Successfully pickpocketing a zarethian citizen, Victor Price continued on his rampage throughout the park without as of yet being noticed. He had made himself invisible and dimmed his magical level to that which could not be sensed, even by the most competent magic users in the area at the moment in time, because he was committing a crime, by robbing the people here blind. Well if they were too blind to defend themselves they deserved being robbed didn?t they?

Near the middle of the parade line, The Lordship of New Dementia's float. It was decorated in black purple and blue with a large shield on each side with the crest on it. Tera was sitting on a throne waving to every one. She gave off her bright smile, and sits back into it. Next to the throne, there were a few other officials and guards. This was turning into a pretty big event.

One Zarethian man was at the festival. He had heard about it time and time again, and all his competitors were going to be there as well. What better way for someone running for the Zarethian senate to gain publicity?

Unfortunately for him, something was wrong. As he felt the snake dipping through his pocket his fist collided with the dipper's face. He looked the man who had now fallen off his high streak. He didn't know that the thief was a terrorist, or that his name was Victor. The one thing he knew was that he was a thief. He stuck out his hand and commanded, "My wallet."

Meanwhile in a commercial area of the fair Captain Alexander Damian Johnson and his crew had docked and set up sales. Reyky and Naralia had gone out into the fairgrounds for some time off, so Alex was the manning guy to man the shop. He was a bit frustrated. He'd never been into shopkeeping.

A man who had been discreetly wading through the crowd walked to Alex's booth. He had wild, fearful eyes, and several boxes that all looked the same. He singled out Alex, and said to him very quietly, "I need you to take this."

But as Victor was 20 feet away, the aforementioned punch would not meet the target. Still he looked at the moment in time towards the one he robbed. "How about this instead?" He snapped his fingers and a leprosy spell went towards that Zarethian, but this one would be non contagious. Hopefully it would leave the idiot bed-ridden for weeks. With that he walked off with the wallet to rob the next unsuspecting citizen.

Unfortunately for Victor, he was not twenty feet away. Victor had only just dipped his hand into the pouch, and was still at point blank. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, because the punch was laced with a simple spell that would have followed him for a lot more than twenty feet. The spell that had been cast by Victor was thus badly directed, and landed upon a large, muscular man. He was not happy.

"Okay...." said Victor pulling out the wallet of the guy which had been emptied of all the money, and other precious valuables and filled with a small credit card like bomb. He handed it back to the guy, and then ran like hell adding sound suppression to the number of spells on himself at the moment in time. Furthermore, he also added a spell that would prevent people from feeling him reach into their pockets as well upon himself. And with that he snuck over to an unsuspecting victim, hoping this would work.

Something was different though. As Victor approached his next victim there was a problem. It was as magic had suddenly ceased to exist. There was a tap at his shoulder. It was the Zarethian. He did not look happy, and his watch had a built in anti magic shield. After dropping the card bomb at Victor's feet, and stuck out his hand commandingly. "I'm really not the kind of guy you want to screw with," He said.

"Can't blame a guy for trying." said Victor, using his INTERNAL and not external magic, which would not be blocked by AM to generate an AAM field around himself at the moment in time. The AAM field was then expanded to counteract the Anti magic of the watch the guy wore. At the same time, he pulled out the belongings of the guy and cast a curse on them that would cause him bloating, headaches, diarehea and many other problems. He then handed it to him. "Here you go..." And he ran off, repeating the spells he had done on himself. Including the invisiblility, being soundless and other forms of suppression including masquing his magical signature from detection.

Zaigen waded through the crowd just in time to see the thief curse, well, himself. The one thing Victor didn't realize was the dexterity of mind the Zarethian had. Zaigen gathered his stuff from the false magical prosthetic he had cast of himself, and then disbanded it. He smiled to think of what the thief would be going through. The power of what you assume can be very powerful. The prosthetic had only cast a single wave of anti-magic at Victor. It was enough though. Enough to make him think he was being magically restricted. That wasn't what made Zaigen smile though. What made him happy was that the prosthetic had mirror like properties. Any minute now the thief would experience bloating, headaches, diarehea and many other problems.

Zaigen wasn't about to let this go though. Zaigen walked to the nearest GOL guard and informed him of the thief. He also informed him that the thief would be experiencing previously named symptoms, and had recently been cursed with a tracking spell. The spell also granted him a moving picture on parchment of Victor's every move.

"Code: Blue." Victor said the words, and the antibody enhancement nanites inside him activated cancelling out all the biological problems that his body had at the moment in time, including all the ones that had happened at the moment in time. noticing the guards at the moment, he simply teleported. And then teleported again, and then teleported again. And then removed the tracking spell, and then teleported again, and again and again and again. That should throw off any such tracking spells at the moment in time hopefully.

"It's all fun and games till one doggy ruins it..." Kurai having seemingly appeared out of nowhere reached out and grabbed Victor Price by the shoulder, easily seeing through his pitiful disguise at the same time. "Leave the thieving to the villains, boy, you're out of your league with petty crimes like that." Quickly bringing her knee up fast, Kurai send a sharp kick to Victors nuts, rendering him helpless, then released his shoulder.

Kurai in this place was still wearing next to nothing. A few feathers scattered here and there in places of privacy. But other than that, her wings were all she wore. This all she ever wore at ANY time. Whether it was an attack or a social gathering of many people. Kurai preferred to wear as little as possible. It was part of who she was. She was pure sin, a being of negative energy. And Lust, after all, was one of those sins.

But because this guy was inferior in Kurai's eyes to even look upon her, she folded her wings of 15ft wingspan inward and wrapped them about herself, flowing downward like a cloak to cover front and back. "Don't let me catch you at it again. Frankly it's quite embarrassing."
