However the planet was much much bigger than the Titan and so the metal could easily go around it. It was no small planet, but a large artificial one over the size of a sun. The extra size was given so that the City could be improved in the future. And if that didn't give enough room? The city was ALIVE. It could easily expand itself further and build upon its self. Everything was connected, and everything connected had four controllers. Both AMI and Archon, and through the ARSims, Rev and Gen. There was nothing the planet did or was done to the planet that they couldn't control.
A ship to large to land? Simple, the City instead merely expanded outward when inversing and then around to encompass such a major problem.
For the fighters, and bombards, the shields just simply wouldn't budge. Maybe if they had just the backup power to draw from, they would have. But now the city was awake, and the defenses were back online. Add the original generators along with the improvements Rev and Gen both made through Torsion Field technology? The shields were plenty strong enough to hold steadfast through attacks and keep what they were shielding safe. Not that getting through the shields would make a difference anyways.
The city had retracted into the planet. The inner part of the planet. The Planet may have inversed, but the city was not in outer shell of it as there were a few more layers of the artificial planet. The core layer which had the control rooms that Rev and Gen and the main AIs were. The Outer Core room which had some of the more important technology. The mantle region which which the city now rested. And the outmost rim where the action and takeover was now taking place. And then the atmosphere which had closed its self off, the Crust.
The Magiship may have gotten into the Rim region, but the city had retracted into the Mantel region before it had gain a foothold. Give or take the speed of a ship and reaction time, it wouldn't have had time to get into the Mantle. So all that was left for the Magiship, or fighters to attack was a big ball of metal with an outer metal shell and a form-fitting shield overlaying that shell.
Underneath the shield, the metal of the shell flickered bright blue at about the same time a giant eyeball shown looking up from the metal at the 'attackers.'
From in the core control room, Rev and Gen had used their controllers-ARSims to pull up a simulation of the outer Rim and the things taking place on top of it. The room around them showed the Outer Rim as if they were there, and not in the Control room. Yet to the outer rim, they would not have been there. However, through the ARPMS, the two could manipulate things outside the Outer Rim from their spot in the simulation.
But for now they left that job up to AMI and stayed as spectators. After all, the two still had a lot to learn. And Diplomacy in battle was one of those things.
"Welcome to the City of the Suvian, long since abandoned by the Suvian and under new management. Is there a reason you are attacking me?" AMIs voice went through transmission translated as words to the ships, as well as outloud from the planet. Her eye looked a few times, before the metal flickered once more and AMI 'backed' up and showed her full form from the waist up as a static image on the metal. Like that of a TV image.
Around the Gates, the shield broke off a part of its self which formed around the Gate into a bubble preventing anything from the Gate to get out of the shield. This bubble was not part of the main shield as it had broken off.
