The Four Legendary Swords
« on: January 27, 2010, 05:51:47 PM »
NOTE: This tech was originally on CE, but this time there are heavy modifications.

The four swords have currently not been found by anyone; they are disguised as asteroids circling between the galaxies.

Excalibur

A holy sword, it is noticeably shorter than the images of it display it. Known for a light blade and quick slash, it generates a sort of magical barrier around it; basically, whoever uses it cannot be harmed by magic. In turn, though, armor they are wearing is weakened, meaning this blade is best to take on mages and other magical beings. It is also easily destroyed; in the event of that, the magical barrier is disabled and the sword must be reforged out of the same metal that the original blade used. If Excalibur and Durandal collide, expect a massive bang.

Durandal

An unholy sword which is so large that it takes the strength of two ordinary people to lift it. Heavy and strong, Durandal poses a threat to whole armies. Its strength comes at a cost, though. It is so heavy that all defensive properties are nullified, meaning the user must constantly be on the offensive. It comes with one more advantage though; it is impossible to destroy. Smash it against diamond or heat it to temperatures of plasma, it will not even bend. If Durandal and Excalibur collide, expect a massive bang.

Kusanagi

The holy counterpart to Durandal. It is lighter but longer, and shaped like a katana. Good thing that it only requires one person to lift it. Like Durandal, it poses a great threat to whole armies, but like Excalibur, it generates a magical barrier, and like Excalibur, can be broken, and lessens defensive properties. If Kusanagi and Muramasma collide, expect a massive blast.

Muramasma

The unholy counterpart to Muramasma. It is short but heavy, shaped like a katana too. Like Durandal, it nullfies defensive properties due to the dense metal it's made of. It has a very fast swing, though, and is impossible to break.

Impossible to break? That's a bit too much.

As well as taking zero damage from magic.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

@Hawk: Ile.

@K2: Actually, the real Durandal is impossible to break. That's actually where the name came from; 'endure'. The sword could not be broken, so Roland hid it underneath his corpse.

@Nisorin: Don't forget that applies to only two swords. ... I forgot to add that one person can't use two swords. Obviously it's gonna be hard to use Durandal and Kusanagi at the same time, right?

impossible to break, and immune to magic attacks are too much for even one sword.

I'd be fine with it being impossible to break, due to Abel's arm also being immune to physical damage.. But making the wielder immune to magic? Nah, it could lessen the damage sustained though. I think that is pretty reasonable, since you don't have to break something to get rid of it.

Since when did your arm become immune to physical damage?

I am against it being immune to physical damage.

Has been, it was in the damn thingy.

I approve all of them, on the condition that if the swords cannot be both immune to damage and magic, only one.
