Discussing the killing of my fish, this is what I take offense to:

I made clear something through several posts, that there was a portal in the mouth of the fish. The portal was said to go to place of some sort of noexistance. In the original post the thing removed you from reality itself. I didn't really like that though, on account that it seemed overpowered. I wanted to make it someplace you could recover from, rather than ultimate doom.l I essentially weakened it to the point that it was no longer godmodding in any way, but what happens?

Lets go over what a portal is. It's a gateway to somewhere else. It could be to another universe, or it could be two feet away.

Example of the mouth let | be portal.

Sword goes in here

| ^ \

But to do that it must pass through the portal. Therefore, the sword can have no effect on the roof of the fish's mouth.

Also, why would the fish do such a thing? If he had no defense like this, why do something so stupid? He had been talking about removing first K2, then this newbie, so why would he think just eating him would be so simple? It's out of character.

Anything that communicates has an in character or out of character, Zak. If you're just going to pile a load of discrimination about how something that is vaguely animalia then watch any Disney movie.

What I'm saying is that it is hardly very important. Its a fish, Nik. And Disney has never been known for its realism.

Technically the fish was an NPC as you never did request it. Thus its "special qualities," were also never requested..

They were never denied either. If you have a problem with something I'm doing then let me know instead of trying to destroy everything I have, in an event no less.

Also, Zak, Shattered isn't known for it's realism. Look at your ZPAA. Look at Plex. Look at the them for goodness sake! Space magic?! And somehow sentient beings aren't allowed to be sentient because they're what? Based on an animal that isn't? Grow up Zak's imagination.

The point is. It's an NPC that you're crying over the fact it died. If it was requested I'd understand. But NPCs are usually background characters. Sure they can have voice. But they as well as other characters die. K2 revised his post and posted why the sword didn't go through the portal. Before bitching at us, go read his newer post.

Shattered's realism is explained by science or as magic, which is also explained in detail. My ZPAA, the magic, everything, is explained. Disney... is simple child's fancy. More so than anything on SP.

But even with magic and technology, you act like the fish can't be sentient because you don't like it. Just because it's a fish. Well I've got news for you Zak! It's not a fish. It's a giant, flying, sentient, alien, eelish guardian.

Also, I haven't gotten to do my background stuff I intend with the fish. This guy has a lot more to it then you all are looking at.

Well, Nik, I'm not saying it cant be sentient. It could very well be, however, you never said that. Also, if its not a fish then stop fucking calling it one.

So when the fish started talking, that didn't make you think sentient?

It's closer to a fish then anything else, and at this point it is like a name for it. When they see me say fish, they know who I'm referring to. Also, that wasn't the point of what I had just said. I told you it wasn't a fish to get your mind out of the box and think of it as actually sentient.

Nik, I have yet to bother with reading your posts. I did not know that it talked. I read this topic and simply assumed that it was a fish, nothing more. My opinion was bolstered by your calling it a fish. Then you deny it a fish. Make up your fucking mind.

It could be sentient but you never specifically stated such until it talked. It could just have been a giant, annoying animal.

A being that looks like an animal could certainly be sentient but still look an animal. However, you're still getting pissy about an NPC that you didnt even the request the species of. You have no right to its special abilities.
