Greetings, Friends.
« on: July 13, 2011, 05:29:05 PM »
A small Zarethian ship came into the atmosphere of Earth. It was painted the black and yellow of the Council's Official messengers. "Greetings, K Empire. This is the Zarethian Diplomatic Vessel, Arlal, requesting permission to land."
There is only so much pain that can be taken before the bonds and chains of sanity are forsaken
It is in these lonesome times that we reach towards the light sublime
And from that light we pull the resolution of our time
To begin the end and start anew

A transmission was sent to Arial.

"Greetings, Zarethian vessel Arial, this is the K Center, Paris. Please lower shields and approach docking bay 23, top floor, you should see the building outside your ship, we are the tallest for miles. Approach the docking bay, number twenty-three is on the top floor, clearly labeled. Turn off your engines when docking and allow for auxiliary control, instruct your pilot or pilots to slowly break and to not touch steering or thrusters controls. Welcome to Paris."

"Affirmative, moving in now." the Zarethian vessel complied with the procedures and docked at the specified tower.

Inside their docking bay, a diplomat dressed in the formal robes of the K Empire stood outside their ship, awaiting for someone to step out. He had never dealt with the Zarethians before, but was scheduled to visit Tefillin on a diplomatic meeting sometime in the near future. The arrival of the Zarethians surprised everyone. He was just relieved that he of all people had been sent to greet them, which typically meant he would be in charge of their stay and be their representative during the trip.

The Zarethian loading ramp came down with a hiss of released pressure.  Out stepped an beautiful Zarethian woman wearing slim red robes that showed off her figure. Her skin was pale and contrasted sharply with the bright orange of her hair. He stepped briskly down the ramp and bowed, as per custom, to the diplomat. "Greetings, I am Tala No Chorban, head of the Zarethian diplomatic commity."

The docking bay was hardly the most lovely place in Paris. It had been constructed quickly and was a place with dirty warehouse floors, mechanical locks in the ground, dark walls, and all sorts of screeching noises. Of course, moat docking bays were like that. It was am efficient place, though. The maintenance department was proud of it. They deserved to be, though, having constructed it in a mere week out of old scrap metals and science far too advanced for them to understand in a few days.

The diplomat, Robert, did not particularly enjoy spending time in a docking bay, so he quickly but politely bowed in turn to Tala.

"Robert Saneze, a pleasure, madam."

"The pleasure is mine." She replied, looking around the ratty building. "Let us take our conversation to a place more suitable for diplomacy." She said, wrinkling her nose and noticing the man's discomfort.

"Yes, of course. Right this way. You must forgive us, our room is not suited to your personal comforts as were were not aware that you were visiting, but you will find that it is more than comfortable," Robert informed her as he led her into a great hallway, carpeted eloquently, lined with grand, wooden doors, decorated with French and sage paintings, and with the occasional interior plant.

"Our leaders have been very eager to learn more about your people."

"I meant no insult. Often times space ports are grubby in appearance." She said, following him to the hallway. She looked around in amazement at the walls. "We have none of this.... Wood was a rare commodity for a long time... Only recently reintroduced..." She explained, gstill following him.
"And the same for our leaders. We wished to make the first move in furthering the diplomatic relations with our peoples."

"Oh, there is no insult at all, madam," Robert replied, leading her down the hall. "Wood is a very plentiful resource on this planet. I can not imagine a world with few trees... I am glad to hear that your leaders are as thrilled as my own. This relationship should prove to be benificial for the both of us. Ah, here we are."

Robert opened a wooden door to reveal a lush diplomatic room suited to all the needs of the diplomat. In the center of the room, there was a small table with a chair on each side for the discussions to take place. Robert led his guest into the room, and pulled a chair out for her.

"Please, sit."

"Why thank you." She smiled, as she sat and admired the office. "Its not that our world is lacking in resources so much as we did not have a homeworld until about two standard years ago." She explained crossing her legs. "And our leaders will be excited to hear of your eagerness."

"Oh, you must excuse me," he replied, "Our race is relatively new to space travel. Our leader, emperor K2323 , has brought us a long way from where we were a few months ago. We do have a lot of technology to offer in trade, though. Our fighters can drill into enemy shields in moments, and can take down entire capital sized ships, if need be."

He took a seat opposite to her and smiled. "But I'm getting ahead of myself."

She raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Ahead of ourselves already are we?" She asked jokingly. "You said you wanted to know more about my people, ask away." She said, making a sweeping gesture with her left hand.

"You say that you have only recently found a home world," he echoed, "May I ask, then, how long have your people been nomads, so to speak?"

She leaned back in the chair. "About three centuries." She said, matter of factly.

The diplomat was rather shocked, but tried his best to contain the surprise to himself. Three centuries of living in ships? He could not imagine living in a ship for an entire year, much less for a lifetime. Had these people been in space for that long? Probably longer. They were probably incredibly advanced.

"W-wow. Your people have certainly been through a lot. Is there anything you would like to know up front about my people, then?"

She smirked at his surprise. "Mind you, thats not even a lifetime for us... Though, it certainly felt like it at times." She continued to admire the features of the room. It was fancier than she was used to. She returned her attention to the ambassador. "Well... what is your nation like? How is it ruled?"

"Our nation is ruled by a great man named Kaleb James Tyris I, or as he prefers to be called, Emperor K2323. Much of the ruling power also lies in the K Council, made up of various officials. Life here is wonderful... A man can work, put food on his table, and raise a family. That has not always been true."

The diplomat smiled. "We are a kind people, Ms. Ambassador, and we want nothing more than to thrive. We can be the greatest of friends. Humans are not especially skilled in magic, and those of us here do not yet know much science, but we have kind spirits and want to grow."

"Skill and knowledge can be grown.  A kind and willing spirit cannot be so easily made."  She said sagely. "The Zarethians wish no war, we've seen our share of war when we were forced from our homes over three hundred years ago. We wish to ally with all peoples in order to ensure the continued survival of our species." She explained, shifting her legs.

"We, too, have seen our fair share or war," the diplomat replied, "This country, France, was once known to have unfortunate luck at war, but now, that is said of this entire planet. Not even a year ago, our planet was effected by a nuclear disaster. We have recovered now, and in our recovery, we have learned much of other worlds besides our own. An alliance would prove fruitful for all parties. We could offer each other mutual military support."

"It is unfortunate that war is the only way to truly learn about its horror is to experience it. An alliance with us would mean military support, trade between us, a chance to ally with our allies as well as the possibility of joining a group of poweful empires in an inter galactic alliance." She told him, sitting up straight.

"We would love to ally with your empire," the diplomat replied, "We are currently building a new capital city. When it is complete, we will invite you to open an embassy on our soil. We would love to meet these other allies of yours, as well."

"Thats wonderful news." The Zarethian diplomat smiled. "We can arrange a meeting with the Mechera, Ferrairian and Narrikians, who are part of the Mechera." She said happily.

"Narrakians, you say?"

He paused.

"How funny. We just signed a diplomatic agreement with the Narrakians today."

She cocked her head. "You do realize that the Narrikians are  a subject of the Mechera and that they have no real political power, correct?" She asked.
