Emily sat back, tired of looking at the map that was laid out before her. Her eyes were growing tired, and she knew if she was going to do something, it would have to be now. Emily pulled herself up from her chair and walked over to a nearby window. She pushed the curatins aside, giving her eyes a few seconds to adjust to the light. "Today is the day." She whispered to herself. The faint sound of footsteps made her look over to the doorway, where a nervous Alexei Bordinov stoods, holding some papers in his hands. "What are your orders, your highness?" He asked shakily. Emily looked back towards the window, to a nearby military facility. There was smoke coming from the missile silos, an indication they were ready to launch. She gave them a long, hard look before looking back over to Alexei. "Fire." She said, emotionlessly. He nodded his head slightly, before repeating the command into his transmitter. Instantly, a flash of light flooded the room, and three enormous missiles flew out of the silos up towards the sky, leaving a trail of smoke behind. Emily stared up as they traveled higher and higher into the sky; when they were out of sight, she turned to Alexei. "The world's men of action will look and wonder...How did it come to this?" Emily recited in a monotone voice. She brushed her hair aside and walked out the room, continuing down the long hallway, leaving Alexei to consider her words.
