...I feel like Im spamming characters, yet I only have five, six with this next one, and I've been following the rules concerning applying for characters(no more than two a week). Its weird. XP
Decided to import a character I liked, but never really got to use, from CE.
Name:Lauren Vain(notice a pattern in the last names, yet? XP)
Age:19
Race:Human...?
Alliance:Freelance currently, but could be pursuaded to join another faction...
Bio:Lauren was a orphan for most of her life. If asked about it, she'd reply that she doesn't care. Obviously, her parents didn't care about her, so she couldn't be bothered to give a damn about them. That was that. So, she lived in a orphanage. Not the best place, but the people there were good people; the only problem was a small lack of money, but the donations were enough to keep them all alive.
Now, the orphanage had a odd policy, that they allowed the children to go to places in the city unchaperoned. They couldn't always actually go with the children due to understaffment, but they couldn't make them stay in one place. Its not like they were being irresponsible or anything; the children were only allowed to go to certain places, which they'd negotiated with the mayor of the city to provide increased security. Lauren usually went to a market.
On one of these days, at the age of 5-6, she went there with a small bit of money, a few of this place's equivelent to the quarter. On this particular time, a virus had been going through the security teams that usually patroled this area, and so the market didn't have the usual security. While looking for something to buy, she was grabbed by a man, as she was crossing a alley. He and his 'friends' tried to muffle her, and stuff the little girl into a bag to be sold into slavery, and then get the f*ck out of there before a security personell came to investigate the screams to find a bunch of kidnappers. As they were about to leave, Lauren in the bag, one of them screamed. The rest hardly noticed, as they were used to the people they forced into slavery all the time, and had in fact turned only to find out why their friend was taking so long. When they saw it, however, any fears of being charged with slaving were soon changed for something else...As a skeletal hand had broken through the concrete of the alley, and was pulling the rest of the skeleton out of the ground. They turned to see still more, some brandishing bone spears and axes, as they climbed out of the earth and marched to the slavers, weapons at the ready.
The remains found at the site were described by police the next day as,"Unidentifiable hunks of flesh and bone, that seem to have been ripped, shredded, and torn to peices by bone claws".
After the skeletons had butchered the men, they turned their attention to the small struggling bag. One of them reached for it, and oh-so-carefully tore it open, being sure not to harm the child inside. While Lauren probably should have feared her skeletal saviors, being a mere child of not even 7 years, she giggled at the sight of them. These skeletons, while not in decay(everything that could possibly rot was gone from them), were bloodied and horrifying, yet made this girl laugh...For you see, she didn't know it entirely then, but she'd caused it. She was a born necromantress. As time went on, she learned to better control this gift, and while at first the people at the orphanage thought she might abuse her power to take over, as it turned out, their kindness over the years had been imprinted to her, and these undead became guardians. In fact, she'd been mocked by a few about it for her 'friends', which almost always triggered the skeletons to attack these people before Lauren would invariably tell them that it wasn't worth killing a few bullies. As she grew older, she started experimenting with her magic, and tried to see if she could bring the dead back to life. By doing this, she found that she could indeed raise the dead, but not completely alive; the closest she ever got was a rotting revenant that was apparently late for a cup of tea...Yet this person in life hated tea. And the zombie had no personality, just kept mumbling that it needed to find its tea, over and over as it walked through the town. Well, technically it never got out of the building, as Lauren had removed whatever force she implanted in the poor creature, so as not to mock the dead.
At the age of eighteen, she left the orphanage to continue her studies of her magic, and hopefully learn to master necromancy to truly bring back the dead. She did many more experiments, and noted that plants seemed to be the only thing she was truly able to bring back. All animal life invariably ended up as a skeleton or a zombie, never truly alive. She didn't give up, and often looked around markets to find things that might help her. Only one such item has worked...A small black book, with unintelligible runes covering its pages. She didn't buy it, but rather it was given to her by a old man who walked with a cane. At least, she presumed he was old, and his voice was raspy, and, again, he had a cane. No part of his body was shown, as he had clearly taken measures so that nobody would see his body. He had beckoned for her, and when she went to him, he said only this:"My name is unimportant, as is my goals. I can see around you the aura of a kindred spirit, however...And so, I have not waited this past week here for nothing. Take this book, and use its power to aid in your fate..."
She took the book he'd offered her, and without a word he left, ignoring all attempts at communication. As if to answer her last question of who he was, his glove fell off...Revealing a necrotic, rotted hand. Quick as a flash, he retreived the glove and put it back on, and continued to walk away. She has only that book left of him, that undead...Whatever he was. Clearly a sentient undead, much farther than she'd achieved, but she couldn't place it...He'd claimed she was a kindred spirit...
Soon after, figuring that she'd have no luck with her studies on that planet, she bought a ticket on a space station, and traveled the galaxy, in hope of finding a cure for death. Her current home is on a very vegetated planet(cant remember its name...Not Terraguove, I think, but some other planet with lots of plant life), and keeps her own garden in it. She travels reguarly, but always makes sure her plants get enough water.
Weapons:She carries a pocketknife with her, in case she's jumped or her skeletons cant protect her.
Equipment:She carries with her, among other useless trinkets, a black book filled with arcane runes. She cant read a word of it, but she has noticed it aids her in her magic.
Magic Level:3
Appearance:She has dark blue hair, not dark enough to look black, but still pretty dark, and her eyes are red. When she uses her power, her eyes glow with a purple light. She doesn't have a usual attire, and cant seem to follow a dress code, always wearing either customized clothes or just whatever looks good.
