Although still considered young, Salahiem?s two millennium existence has afford him a somber attitude. For a Marid he is unnaturally preoccupied with the dignity he view other races to have. He is shrewd in his mannerisms in that he is a diplomatic individual. His cynical sense of idealism gives him a rough edge that most short lived races would attribute to old age.

Yet, he is still very young in mind in that he puts all his pent up energy into everything he does. Finding new ways to attempt to sway his own collective from violent conquest. He hopes for  the future, while expecting his own efforts to fails without ever losing resolve. A strange Marid. ((Note: gendered nouns and pronouns are for simplicity. He has worked behind the scenes of the Collective to avoid mass conflict since he first understood his people?s communication. As a young Marid he lived in secret among many societies of other races. Once being the gem in a wedding ring for twenty years. Salahiem sees the world in a idealistic shade of gray, as he has tried to keep a mantle on the younger generations ambitions, while his own is still infantile. After many years clamming for more peaceful pursuit of knowledge within the Collective. He caused the creation of the Council of Internal Affair in direct irony the Active Parental Gems put him in charge of Chancellor leaving peace as he directive to fail, and only his.

For the past decade he has lost out to the military ambitions of the younger shed generations. His pleas falling on deaf ears and engendering a resolute sense of resignation to a future he failed to change for the better. This Marid has shown that the military thinkers of the Marid Collective have taken control, and it would take a disaster to get the Collective to listen to his now branded sense of ?Madness?

In the past he has moved for talks with less advanced races that they have infiltrate in the Collectives undying thirst for any kind of knowledge through any means.  Every one fo these has be out-right rejected. Making the Internal Affairs look like a bureaucratic prison for this singular Marid?s opinions. Other motions of these types have seen similar rejections.

Salahiem?s association with the military radical Caliph ahs been one of constant flaring opinionated rivalry. Salahiem dismissing Caliph as a lunatic and caustic youngster. Caliph pointing to Salahiem as another young one that just wants the Collective to put down perceived better methods of acquiring knowledge. While similarly hating the idea of a expanded grand Collective.

As the cogs of time continue to move, the future of this young Marid seeking to pacify his people from military ambitions is uncertain. However recent events may play into his hand, or it may cause him to be executed as a traitor to the Collective. Who really knows.
