This is the captain reporting in.. I guess that’s a bit redundant, actually. I’m quite.. Unfamiliar with the way you do things here. Keeping a Captain’s Log is the last thing I expected I’d be doing when given command of the vessel Tarius. I’ll try my best to get this right.
The first day of the mission I’ve been given by the Fleet Commanding Council of the Aralangs has ended. Commander Suhhaui has given me much mention to the Council. I’m sure that’s the only reason I’ve been given the command I have now. Regardless, I will command to the best of my ability. If I fail, then my pride will be broken.
My mission is fairly simple, though. I and my crew are to provide assistance in the war against the Garalengs. By Garalengs, I am referring to the auto-identified enemy of the Great Aralang Empire. For the purpose of reducing time spent in my reports, I will refer to the empire of the Aralangs as G.A.E. Our empire is fighting hard at war.
To the spectator who may be unaware of the war we are in, and for reference to future readers, let me just tell you about our war. One year ago, according to inter-galactic time standards, an unidentified vessel exited some kind of hyperspace drive over our home planet. The vessel captain identified himself as Jeffery Star of an empire named Starclan. According to Jeffery, his ship was all that was left of a nomadic empire which for five centuries had been on the run from a terrible enemy. The Garalengs.
Before the transmission could be replied to, a second vessel exited a jump drive window similar to Aralang jump drives. The vessel proceeded to destroy the Starclan ship in an instant. With the Starclan ship destroyed, it began to open fire on a city on our planet. One of our Keeper ships entered war with its ship, eventually destroying it. So began the war.
We have learned much since the beginning of the war. Aralanian Historians have speculated that the last hundred years have been a “Information Period,†and have named it our growth place. We have learned more about science in the last one hundred years than ever before. All thanks to this cursed war.
Aralangs have toyed with the idea of alternate universes for tens of thousands of years. It was within the last ten thousand years that we developed technology capable of traveling between these universes. When that was done, we met our alternate selves. Because of our capability of traveling universes, our armies are huge and we have gained much intel.
However; in one alternate universe, there were the Garalengs. Alternate us. They, too, learned the secrets of traveling universes.. And they used it to travel to ours. Here.. And decided to destroy us and take our empire.
They have technology almost identical to us.. But opposite at the same time. We call the ships they primarily use Evil Keepers as they bear so much resemblance to our flag-class Keepers. Because of this, some say we are at a standstill with the Garalengs. I disagree. We aren’t and never will be equal to those scum bags.
Our mission, as given by the AFC -- Aralang Fleet Command -- is to use slower than light travel and stealth mode in a flight to Giyata, an embassy of our allies, the Mechera. Five hundred years ago, we were in a war with them. We lost, and they established an embassy on a planet in our galaxy, stationed staff there, and left the dimension. Our only communication with them is on that planet. It’s become more of a colony to them, and last we heard, it was there only land-based property now.
The Mechera are abiotic life forms. We do not quite understand how they function without life, though it is best compared to Aralang Artificial Intelligence. We know that they are very advanced. Our last trip to Giyata took place three years ago, at which time the planet was entirely mechanical.
We have put heavy identification technology all over the Tarius. With our technology in place, the Mechera should pick up our identity and not fire upon us. We don’t need another enemy on our hands. The Garalengs are already too much to handle. We’re going to the Mechera in peace.
Actually, we’re going to the Mechera in war. In war with the Garalengs. We need assistance in this war. That’s where the Mechera come in. We need their help.
When we get to Giyata, we will request clearance to dock in a space port on the planet. Upon the planet, we will meet with Mechera and discuss a hopeful alliance against the Garalengs. If all goes well, we suspect Mechera will assist in fighting against our common enemy. This will be a valuable alliance.
So, we set forth at high speed towards Giyata. We are in full-stealth mode. That means no Faster-Than-Light travel, and no fighting. We’re using cloak technology. We, hopefully, will not be identified until we want to be identified. However; any technology that can be made can be destroyed just as well.
It will take us one more day to reach Giyata. Our crew was busy at work today preparing for our arrival. Technical departments were working on ship functions and perfecting sensors. Cultural Departments were preparing our presentation for the Mechera. Everybody was doing something, presenting us trouble in a lack of men piloting the ship!
Upon 15:00, we reached the Jigui Stretch. As the reader may know, the Jigui Stretch is a very large area of space in our galaxy which is prone to Vextile Igorus, or random-warping. Ships with light-speed drives in the Jigui Stretch rarely experience malfunctioning in their drives in which they are launched into light-speed to unknown locations. To this day, no ship which has been lost in the stretch has returned or made any communication with the Aralangs.
As such, the Jigui Stretch is declared a Priority One Exclusion Checked Area . POECA, as its better known, is the name to any area declared by the AFC as forbidden. According to the laws of the Aralang High Council, two conditions must be present for any Aralang ship to enter a POECA. The Aralangs must be in a state of emergency or war, and the AFC and Aralang High Council must both approve of the entering of the POECA.
There’s a good reason we are being allowed to travel through the Jigui Stretch. Traveling around the stretch when not using Jump Drives makes the travel to Giyata a century-long travel. Usually, Jump Drives are used to reach the planet of Giyata. However; the Garalengs are tracking all Jump Drive travel in the area.. They must not know the location of Giyata.
So, we trek onwards.

Day Two. We have continued working on ship functions. The presentation for the Mechera is complete. Nothing else to say, really.. We will be exiting the stretch in about one hour, and then about another hour later we will reach Giyata. I really do not enjoy writing mission logs.

Today was a very big day, in contrast to yesterday. Our mission reached a large road bump. The peaceful mission did not go quite as planned.. At the time of writing, I am unsure if this log will ever reach the eyes of the Aralang government.. What a change of events..
At 00:03, we exited the stretch. Upon exiting the stretch, Tarius navigation began to act up, but the jump drives remained shutdown. I sent Crew 3 into the Holopanel, or ‘brain’ of the Keeper, to communicate with the ship and identify the problem.
At 02:00, we still had not received word from Crew 3. I ordered the temporary halt in motion of the ship. At 02:15, the ship’s engines finished shut down and the crew began turning on the anchor mechanism which prevents the ship from moving through space. At 02:32:30, the ship stopped in movement completely.
We attempted communicating with Crew 3 at this time. Upon trying to extract the crew from the Holopanel, we received mysterious readings from the food locker on Level C in the messhall of Tarius.
