The Ascention of the Apprentices
« on: January 08, 2012, 04:04:11 PM »
There were few left on Inarin, Jay allowed for a few settlers to basically set up homes in various areas provided they didn't disturb the goings on of the Templars or the world as a whole, but many were gathered before the Citadel as Jay stood with two kneeling figures before him.
He sighed and smiled as his Sword of Ages appeared in his hand, over the past few years it had seemingly adapted to Jay's powers and had become more silver in colour as apposed to the bronze it once was. He slammed the blade dead into the ground before his two apprentices as he asked them to rise.
He approached the more feminine looking one and removed the hood hiding her face- Showing her to be none other than his apprentice Inari.
"Inari. Do you accept the power and responsibilities of the Templar?" He muttered, taking a step around her to the back of her.
There was almost no hesitation in her voice as she replied "Yes, Master."
Jay laughed, placing a hand on her shoulder "Maiden. Arise." He said, simply as silver and blue lights burst from his own body into hers. The two shook violently before Inari fell to the ground, surrounded in a silver aura.
Jay himself staggered back a little before approaching the second figure, Nek.
"Nek. Do you accept the power and responsibilities of the Templar?"

Eight years ago, Nek Atlas had been a scared, lonely figure in a bar in False Heaven, living with the realization that he was the clone of some tyrant Narrikian, brought to life for the purposes of the Anrufe. He had no magic. He was not advanced in technological proficiency. He had been depressed, thinking about ending it all... When he met Jay, his first real friend.

Since that day, when Jay had befriended Nek and showed him that there was still hope in the world, Nek had become much stronger. He had become confident in himself. He put the life that Ken Atlas had lived behind him. The only thing that was important was the life of Nek Atlas, apprentice to the Templar named Jay. He had served Jay faithfully.

And even though he had become a confident, bold man, he was almost trembling as he stood before Jay, just as he had done thousands of times before. Only, this was different. This was a special ceremony, and it would change Nek's life entirely. He had made the decision already, obviously, or else he would not be standing here. This was more of a formality for the people watching... But still.

Could Nek really take on the tasks of becoming a Templar?

Nek shoved these thoughts out of his mind. He wanted to help Jay. He wanted to help Jay rebuild his people. And after all, this was a very important ceremony. Jay would no longer be alone. He would no longer be Jay, last of the Templars, Warrior of the Light. Jay would change, and so would Nek and Inari... But then, Nek realized, he'd been changing for the last eight years. They all had.

"Yes, Master," Nek replied with a wide, stupid grin on his face.

"Knight. Arise." Jay placed a hand on Nek's chest as the same process happened, Nek would have been so overwhelmed by temporal energies rewriting his very essence that he would have been forced to the ground as Jay staggered back, heavily weakened as he stood himself before the crowd and his apprentices "These two Templars have arisen to levels of power unimaginable. The Knight and the Maiden." He motioned to the two "Over the next thousand years they will learn the true ins and outs of Temporal power and shall soon enough be protecting you before you know it." He smiled then coughed "But uh... This takes a lot out of a man..." He laughed a little and sat down on a seat that appeared behind him. The crowd cheered and dispersed, back to their daily lives.

Energy surged through Nek's body as soon as he stood up, and he once more fell to the ground, now out of fatigue. He could see the blurry form of his master fall backwards as well. He slowly regained his senses and managed to sit himself up, looking up to Jay who was sitting in his chair. So, it was done, huh? Nek didn't know what to say -- well, what he would have said had he enough energy to say anything.

Finally, after quite some time, he spoke.

"S-so... What happens now?"

Inari stirred but she just seemed to be sleeping.
Jay chuckled "We rest. The siring of Templars is the single most energy consuming act one will ever commit. Doing it twice would've killed me if we werent on Inarin." He smirked a huge grin before shakily standing, using the sword of ages as a walking stick "We'll let the planet and therefore the records refuel me and fuel the two of you for the first time. Then perhaps we'll go to the records themselves. Get you introduced to the Lady."

"The la-?" Nek began, but before he could finished, he hit the ground, passed out. Sweet dreams.
