Theroginian Tech
« on: January 22, 2012, 05:48:00 PM »
Augurium: A complex synthetic armoring mixture, twice the tinsel strength of steel when hit with a force above a certain speed. Ballistics and other objects that collide with it force the liquid in the suit into a hardened substance.

Castra Class Super Capitol: http://tagn.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/drakeflight.png
This ship is the workforce of the Theroginian Fleet. The Castra ship is about as big as Europe and is extremely fast and maneuverable for a ship of its size.  Equipped with Ballistorum, Scutorum and Scutii shields, it is fairly basic in design.

Ballistorum: Take your average coilgun and make it so that the projectile it shoots explodes seconds after it impacts with a target.

Scutorum Class Shield: This shield basically takes gravity and makes it act as an impenetrable wall. Since ships have anti gravity, this one makes a gravity well around itself that basically slows down a projectile enough for it to simply stop or enough for it to do little to no damage to the hull. Obviously this has no effect on energy weapons and in order for the ship to fire its own kinetic weapons, they have small holes aligned with the trajectory of the weapon. Obviously its much less useful in close proximity to a planetary gravity well.

Scutii class shield: This shield absorbs energy. Specifically it absorbs small amounts of kinetic energy and most types of radiation in order to power the shield itself and the ship. Initially the shield was meant to be a radiation shield but it was modified to make it combat capable. It can absorb lasers, plasma and other assorted energy weapons.

Legionarii Armor: This armor, made of Augurium, is equipped with advanced cybernetics that allow the user to lift up twice their normal capacity and run up to twice their normal speed. It is also equipped with several electronic communication devices, an up-link system that hooks up with other units and allows for command to have more control over its legions and a wrist launcher that can fire several types of dart, from EMP to poison.

Hm...Approved, though since the Scutorum shields are emitting anti-gravity I dont see why you'd need those 'windows'. Your shots would be propelled forward, after all, due to the anti-gravity.

No, they produce gravity. Gravity enough to stop incoming projectiles.

Yeah, I had gravity producing technology to and everyone automatically thought it was anti gravity. However gravity would pull projectiles towards the ship faster rather than slow it down.

Yay lets make bigger holes in the ship!

I thought it was anti-gravity because you said about the ship being able to produce anti-gravity, sorry. '>>

I wasnt totally clear, my fault. I was referencing the fact that if ships can make Anti gravity then its not infeasible for them to make extra gravity.

How dense is the gravity created? What's the limit on it before it reaches blackhole state and ends up destroying you? ...Are we forgetting how blackholes are formed people?

Also for the shield that absorbs energy. What's it's limit and rate? How much and how fast?

....I dont have an exact rate for either.  Its not nearly powerful enough to create a blackhole so much as it prevents projectiles from impacting with great force.

As for the energy shield its limited, and its not like it can go into a sun or anything...
