A Message?

It began at sun down. It didn't appear terribly unusual at first, about a dozen Will O' Wisps flickered around the tower, up and down it, like a Jacob's Ladder. They had unique colors and flying patterns. But it quickly grew the later into the night it got. It was about midnight, and there were hundreds of them in every shade of the rainbow, illuminating the tower in a beautiful splendorous light.

Some began appearing inside as well. They were harmless, and flickered through halls and rooms with a silent glow. What could it mean?

the Marid on in the tower were fascinated by the Wisps, and Caliph sat in his office. He was doing paper work, thinking. However, the wisps added an odd joy to his soul. So, he waited for them to actually say something,
"Autumnavia, if you wish to speak... come here to my office."

A Wisp outside his window flickered and dipped it's flight path, almost like a reply. It then shot off, away from it's orbit and vanished. A few minutes later, a black fog began to engulf the tower, and the wisps lighting became more frantic and rapid. More and more began appearing inside, madly pacing the halls.

Smoke began to pour in from the crack under Caliph's door, slowly and steadily. A cloud of it drifted in, over his chair, and suddenly it formed a shape and became a solid figure. Before Caliph was an all-black figure with the head of Jack O' Lantern.
"My name is Jack Laturn. You may know me as the Will O' Wisp Lord." He opened plainly, eyes boring into Caliph.

Caliph allowed an appeased smile take over his face, as he looked over this 'Jack Laturn'. Caliph pulled out a bottle of Aloange Wine, considering its source, now an extremely rare beverage. Caliph poured two glassed, with a certain hint of ritual, with a relaxed hand, he pass over one to Jack Laturn.

"Welcome to my office, Lord Jack Laturn. It is an honor to meet you. I hope you enjoy our... tower. We tried our best to make its appearance fit the culture of this world, and we strove and succeed an in not cutting down a single tree. We built only on the clearing provided. Sit, and have some win, please take you time in expressing why you have sought this meeting."

The glass went untouched. Fog billowed off the dark figure, as he crossed his legs and arms, keeping up his intense stare.
"I am a man of few words." His slightly accented voice stated. "Outsiders don't come often. When they do... They come to destroy, conquer. You have been kind so far. I respect the fact that you are inviting the children to your schools. But I've had my eye on you, and so have... Other forces, more paranoid then me. You act the part, but at your basis you are a cold race with little genuine emotion. That is why I am suspicious. What is your purpose for coming here?" The Jack O' Lantern's mouth moved oddly, but the words were bold and steady.

Caliph sighed, "I understand your suspicion. However, we didn't have a specific purpose in coming here, actually, we didn't mean to come here.  There was a battle far away from this system, one that cost my many Marid under my command. My vessel was the only one was to escape, and then our enemies followed us here... it was a random jump. We escaped barley, tricking them into thinking we died. With its destruction, we lost the data needed to get home. Its location is lost to us. We are grateful that you have let let us stay here in peace, and that is the reason for our kindness, at our most vulnerable, you allowed us to live in peace here."

"Mmmmm." The spirit said to himself, the hum vibrating through the room. His disembodied voice spoke again. "Yours is a hard race to read. Harder then I anticipated. I too, came to this planet by accident. It acts as a spiritual magnet. This place is very much alive in spirit. If given the opportunity to return home... Would you?" He asked, quite seriously.

[Capxeno]

Caliph smiled lightly, "I would like to be in contact with home... but no, I personally would not return. This place... has become fond to me. Of coarse I would give those Marid under my guidance, who were once under my command the option to go home if the chose."

"Yes. One grows quite fond of it quickly. It is very enchanting. That's why I have pledged to guard this place from any who would harm it. Outsider, you may stay. Until you do something that hurts this place. We are watching you. If we find you have been planning this whole time... Our vengeance will be swift. There are spirits much more powerful then the Succubi who attacked you when you first came here, and I am one of them. If other Outsiders come because of you, like the ones you fought to come here, and if they come to bring war, we will force both of you to leave. Understood?" The eyes of the pumpkin glowed with warm fire behind them.

[Capxeno]

Caliph nodded, after sipping his wine. "Understood, Lord Jack Laturn. Is outsiders come here to wage war... we will force them to leave, and then leave ourselves."

[UnStellar]

The creature slowly dissolved into smoke.
"Thank you for your understanding." He became enitrely smoke, but his eyes and mouth burned ever brighter in it's midst. The smoke swirled into a vortex and the flickered out of existence. The smoke then poured out the door again, and instantly, the Wisps stopped glowing and disappeared.

It was almost like it had never happened.

Something in the air changed. Caliph knew it was time to involve himself unrelated to Jack. The Marid leader would disappear.
