Biography: Having picked up her first guitar at her grandfather's wake when she was six years old, Sirenia has been making music for the majority of her life. Though she tried playing drums, and can passably play bass, she has decided to stick to her guitars. She bought her father's Gibson SG, teaching herself how to play. Since then, she's been in four different bands, each of whom she's left because she felt they were not going to get anywhere. She is now looking for a new band to join, which is what lead her to discover her current 6-string, which she's come to nickname the 'Strings of God.' In her grandfather's will, his guitar was left to her pending her decision to tie music and her life as one, should she be old enough to make such a decision with full knowledge of the consequences. His guitar, possessed by the spirit of a long-fallen rock legend that passed away due to the foolish and drugged antics of a friend. He was an avid student of classical rock, and often mixed his skill in classical with his heavy and hair metal songs.
Calling itself Blizzard, the guitar has shown her the ways of magic and how to work it into her songs. Due to her methods of enchanting the masses with her furious melodies, her fans often shorten her name to Siren. She's learned to be able to power her amplifier through her and Blizzard's magic, though she's still not quite learned enough about the inner workings of her distortion pedal to be able to power that through magic as well.
During the 5 year break, she splintered off from the Magnificent Mages to travel abroad, having used her share of the profits from the concerts to pay someone to modify her favorite bike for space travel. She'd jam with numerous bands of all types, from folk to country, rock, punk, and even the symphonic metal bands, such as Nightwish or Rhapsody of Fire. As her skill evolved, so did Blizzard. Its magic became more powerful, often visibly spreading out around the body as she played. Their connection is quickly becoming much more of a symbiotic relationship than most possessed, most likely due to their quickly growing bond as friends, bandmates and fellow metalheads. Blizzard indeed seems to be just as intrigued by the mix of metal and symphonies as Sirenia.
As she jammed with more and more mages, she quickly found a rather interesting property to her songs. By weaving her magic in with theirs, she can use the music itself to amplify and direct the magic of the collective, acting as a sort of conductor and muse. Since she's nearly run out of the funds from her concerts with the Magnificent Mages, she has been known to sell out this talent to various stadium bands, replacing the special effects in spectacular fashion.
Her last gig having brought her to Aerai, she has expressed desire to start another group, blending the symphonic metal that she's come to enjoy so much, with the primitive, almost tribal sounds of the Shamai. As payment for a job surprisingly well done, she was treated to a near full body tattooing, using a temporary ink technique that hasn't changed since the First Sage War. Since then, she's shown a passing interest in how people of differing cultures react to abnormal personal styles. So, she's started changing her hair color roughly every week or so.
She's adopted one other bit of Shamai culture, albeit on a very loose level. After watching several of the rituals and other religious activities, as well as speaking to her tattooist, she has taken a bit of a pagan flair onto her life. While not nearly enough to be considered religious, she has begun questioning quite a lot of things, which has, in turn, influenced her songwriting.
