I wonder... if there's actually any Blood Dragons out here..?
The thought reverberated in his mind many times now, with this time in particular being the 302nd time. Moreover what was odd was where this particular person was thinking such thoughts, or rather, what kind of person. The term 'Blood Dragon' seems to invite more bad than good, and rather sounds quite morbid to the average person.
To this person though, named Zerker, it wasn't morbid; it was just about the only thing connecting him to the rest of the plane of existence. The only thing that gave his rather foolish-looking journey any sort of purpose whatsoever. To Zerker, the term 'Blood Dragon' meant to refer to himself, and only himself. He no longer referred to himself as 'human,' as most people would, but rather this two-worded name for a race that no one has ever heard about before, ever. In fact, he himself wondered where the name came from, only to remember time and time again by an old mage that traveled the universe that he handled a rambunctious group of people that had powers and abilities exactly like his.
The Mage had referred to them as 'Blood Dragons.' And then, henceforce, Zerker called himself a Blood Dragon. It was only fitting, seeing as he felt completely different from the rest of the human race, and not only that, but detached from what they believed in and what they found to be enjoyable. Zerker found out that he was, in fact, the odd one out of the family. Only in this case, the family meant every human that existed, and the odd one out being that he just didn't fit. At all.
"*PIIN POON* All passengers are requested to please remain seated, as we will arrive at our destination within a few hours. Ymm byccahkanc yna naxiacdat du bma..."
Zerker disregarded the message, as he was already seated. Though, he did find time to chuckle at the alternate languages being spoken as well. But shortly after, he began to wonder about his destination. He original got on this transport shuttle just to wander, to see if he could meet any new or interesting life forms, to see if any of them actually felt like conversing. Turns out, absolutely none of them were interested in speaking to what looked like a human teenager, despite what little magical prowess he could garner up in the few lifetimes of his life. And considering he was on this ship for what felt like a few days, it was a rather boring ride. But, what didn't stop the Blood Dragon was overhearing countless stories.
Stories like the grand battles that took place in this particular location of the universe, how the greatest space station False Heaven was originally constructed for neutrality, and was brought down with a swift strike because one particular person spoke out loud enough for peace among existence, how machinations of thousands of differing factions would fight for control over simple planets, how psychic warriors known as the Novierians were massacred in the short time they were discovered by other races for the resources of their dwarf star.... It was all so fascinating! But, at the same time, made Zerker feel... small, and alone.
All these massive things happening everywhere, and he can't even confide in another of his past race, let alone his current one. Humanity just simply wouldn't care and would only be focused on personal gain. And, well, obviously, there were no Blood Dragons except him. Things that people can't even begin to imagine, but no one to share such events or ideas with. In his lone seat, Zerker brought his knees close to his chest. For a Blood Dragon capable of some intense magic, he really didn't seem to take being alone very well. Perhaps it was a bad idea coming out alone, searching for other Blood Dragons... at least at this point in my life.
But he shortly waded that. Being on his home planet was a suffering, solitude-like experience. If he was expected to act like the people there, he would rather have gone to the actual hell than be there another second. ... Let's see what the stop coming up looks like. I think I'll get off and travel through on that planet if it looks friendly and safe enough...
