Shades of the Past
« on: February 20, 2012, 02:50:33 PM »
K City, modeled after the fallen Japae architecturally, was the last representation of the Relorian's former allies, the Xanacorians. Through the streets, packed with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, walks a tall, slender shade, legs jointed twice and feathered wings spread wide in pride. It walks towards the capital building, seeking a former friend.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Upon nearing the gates of the capital, two friendly guards stopped the figure. Not just anybody could walk through without good reason, as it could pose a danger to the royals. Bowing before the figure, one of the two guards who stood upon the ground, dressed in the Royal Guard uniform, politely gave the figure a, "G'morning to ya, may I ask what ye have as far as identification?"

The shade pauses at the guards, looking between them. With no facial features, verbal reply is impossible. Instead, the ground beneath it's feet depresses, the shade engraving the original insignia of the Sons of Plunder, an icon not seen since the Sons took over Dragon Moon.

The guard looked down at the symbol, unaware of it's meaning. This was, after all, a New K Empire, and none of its former population remained, besides the royals and maybe a few survivors. Nodding his head, though, he politely bowed before the figure. "Please, wait just a moment."

A few moments later, Julia Tyris appeared, bowing before the figure. "I am Julia Tyris, mother of Kaleb Tyris. I welcome you to our city. What business may you have with my family today?"

The shade stares at her for a moment, before its face seems to rip open, revealing an obviously newly made mouth. "We seek the remnants of the old K and Xanacorian empires, old allies have to come to call upon them." It says, its monotone, expressionless voice devoid of emotion or emphasis. The mouth, as soon as it closes, seems to disappear.

"My husband and my son are the only ones here who I know remain," she replied, "Though to the south, on the planet Earth, you will find his former mentor, Konjan."

The shade stands there, staring for a moment. "Kaleb Tyris the First, A.K.A. K2323, correct? This one represents the one who put Fiske Tyris to rest in the Plexan Tournament. K2323 will know. Please lead this one to him."

"You want to see my husband?" she asked, confused, "I can show you to him."

She formed a small portal, which would lead to the Excel Arena.

The Shade looks to it, its owner recognizing the destination from history tomes. "Excel has come. The maker must be entered." It says, solidifying itself and walking through the portal.

Julia bowed politely to the departing figure before closing the portal from her end and returning to the palace.
