House of Umbrear
The colors Emerald, Onyx, and snow white? What do they confer to you? For those in the Phoenix Kingdom between a thousand years before the first Phoenix-Dragon war to the beginning of the Second it conveyed strength, mystic, and inquisitiveness beyond the norm. These were the colors of The House of Umbrear. This House of Duke and Duchess served under the Phoenix king, and served for the people of the Phoenix Kingdom as Governors of their land, fair judges, teachers of every field, and as Dragon slayers.
That last part, came due to vagrant dragons would prey upon Phoenix peasants who tended their fields and their studies. Lacking true enough power to defend themselves, these criminals even to the Dragons themselves led to the founder of the House of Umbrear to construct his very being, his very magic to combat dragons.
This led to the Phoenix King conferring onto the founder a title of nobility. For the next thousand years, the House grew into one of fair ruling and fulfillment of its duties. The House of Umbrear was counted among the greatest Duchies of the Phoenix kingdom.
Then started the first Phoenix-Dragon war. The House of Umbrear lost many of its young, actually all but its Duke and Duchess died. Fighting dragons was their duty and although their house was counted as the Heroes of the wars, having lost nearly their whole family had taken its toll.
This is why they had led the assignation of Dragon Generals that ended the war, this ascension has cost them an entire squad under their command. The pair were again, counted as heroes. They retired to their castle, it would be a long time before they were seen again.
Many, many years past before the Second Phoenix-Dragon war started, they were called upon again, and their skills required. The House of Umbrear were summoned to see the Phoenix king, only to need to run in flight of Dragon assassins.
Carrying the future of their house, a single egg, the pair ran and fought their way to the Phoenix king, and they never made it. With the last of the spirit in the fight they imprinted their memories, onto the egg and sent it to a place even they did not know of. It was a desperate, random spell, that brought the egg to the mortal plane, into the void of space. Millennia before Era Village was even built.
The snow white hair, the emerald and onyx feathers. These trait specific to the House of Umbrear exist only in one person, and until recently, he didn’t even know what it meant…
