Another Routine Day

It was another routine day at Ventus Tempestus for the students of Flight Class B8-29, taught by Jim Dero. It was a class designed to teach personnel how to use the Hornet fighters in battle. Today, Jim's class was out on a routine practice flight. They were to circle an asteroid a bit away from the station, and then head back. Nothing fancy at all.

However; as the group began to approach the asteroid, Jim noticed that something wasn't quite right. A red light seemed to be blinking on the asteroid. He immediately turned his comm to a channel so he could communicate with the station. "Attention Home Station, this is call sign KP, do you read me?"

At the station, Zane would be monitoring all communications.  "Attention Class B8-29, withdraw from that area. I repeat, withdraw from that area. This is not a drill retreat to the station immediately for briefing." At the same time, Zane would push a button. "Classes TT-341, TT-540, TT-342, go to the hangar immediately and suit up in the armors. We need the mechas operational. All pilots scramble to stations, all soldiers grab the weapons. Prepare yourself for whatever is coming."  Zane would then send an emergency beacon out of his own power to Celso and to the world of Providence.

"You heard him, boys," Jim announced through his com to the trainees, "Head home."

The entire squadron did a circle flow, heading back towards the hanger. They docked, and Jim/Aiden headed towards the briefing room.
