Thats a little sexist if im honest, the fact that they're females does not suddenly warrant respect. If i'm honest this should be amended to say treat all members with at least some respect(Enough to step off if asked tends to work).

If you really like to think about a show and try to ponder deep meanings, like giant robots and humankind spitting in the face of God, then yes, you will love that show.


If not, just skip it. You can watch the 1.11 and 2.22 movies though: They paraphrase the show very nicely. I had a friend that absolutely hated the anime series, but loved the movies.

How to say this without spoiling. Okay, it's also a good watch if you like to . . . erm, indulge in the trope that "humans are special", and that some individuals may hold keys that others don't. There, now he'll have to watch it to see what I'm talking about. No spoilers here!

Its an American thing Jay. Females are typically held in higher regard in most social and formal situations. Its the same reason you hold the doors for them, and dont say anything around them that would be personally offensive to them. It goes even more for Clidren. I mean really. What child deserves to be talked to like that?

Er...Um...L-Rage? That would be chivalry, which originated in the medieval ages of Europe. If anything, its a (horribly outdated) European thing that some of us still do. By all means, though, it is still sexist. The -isms work both positively and negatively, after all. Personally, I don't see the point to it; in my opinion its a lot more disrespectful to change how you act depending on a person's gender than to act all polite just because they're female. As far as children, I kinda agree, though it does depend on what you consider to be a child(I consider preteen and younger, then teen to 18 are minors).

Nik, I dont think he was trying to be respectful, all things considered. What Im saying is I find it more disrespectful to change how you behave. Im not saying Declan was trying to make friends with Swift, just that I actually find L-Rage's idea to be less respectful than just acting like you'd normally act.
And L-Rage, if people aren't getting your point, it usually works better to explain what you mean rather than just give up.

If i walked in the door and a guy was behind me, and i didnt hold it, he probably wouldnt think anything of it. Now, if it were a lady behind me, and i didnt hold it, i'd get ragged for being rude. Its just a social standard that has been set for a very long time.
