The Wretched Hive

Er...I dont really feel like typing all of that post out again(would copy&paste but apparently thats nigh-impossible on my phone). Its the same situation as the beginning of Wretched Hive on Cruor, just...Y'know...A valid target. More valid, anyways.

Strange as it was, Aloange seemed to be running on a skelton crew. Its station had maybe 200 crew, and the surface was completly abandoned. There was not a single ship in the system. Whatever was going on, seemed to have finished, as if anything of value was stripped, and that this area had lost its strategical importance. Unlike most Wayword systems, there was not a Dyson Sphere around the star, however, all of the surving native were moved out of this system, and this seemed more of a palce holder, as if the Wayword ceased to care about this system.

Almost imdiatly, the Station detecting the invading force, FTLed out of there, while it did mean that they would be stranded where they ended up until retrival, it did mean that the last vestigiese of life here left.

Yet.. all was not rigtht. The planet itself seemed to glow, as if it was a dim star.

In response, the four ships moved away from the planet to another ring of orbit around its star. As the Locusts had learned, a much safer distance from unknown methods of attack was usually better for survival. At the same time, they created a psychic barrier around themselves to block anything, whether of a physical or...Shall we say, less substantial natural from getting at them. A physical assault could probably break through, eventually, but given this didn't look physical in nature the barrier was coded to block things of a psychic or remotely-like-psychic-but-apparently-not attacks they've experienced in the past. From this distance, and with this barrier, they'd likely be able to withstand the assault, whatever it was. All of them had contributed to it, after all! Well, except one Wasp...He was instead Psionically analyzing the planet to detect what the abnormality itself actually was.

The planet itself seemed normal. besides heating up at a rapid rate.

At the new information, the remaining wasp reinforced the Psionic barrier in preparation for...Well...Whatever was going to happen.

The planet seemed to remain normal, besides that the surface temperature had raised significantly. However, its seem to reach an equilibrium. The system seemed to be bare of evidence of the Wayword's presence, besides the station that had retreated, and the lack of natural resources, the system was empty and ripe for the taking.

This time, a Hornet opted out of shield duty, leaving it for the other three. The Hornet sent out a massive Psychic scanning pulse through the entire system. The pulse would reveal any anomalies in the entirety of the system, whether natural or unnatural, and anything that would cause them. Something wasn't right here...And planets most definately dont just begin to heat up like a oven out of nowhere. Whatever was causing it, the pulse would detect it., and then they'd know what it was.

The detected that the Alonage world was the only planet in this system. However, beyond that the planet itself seemed to have a higher tempeture and that the core itself was abnormally large for the size of the planet. Nothing seemed out of order.

The Locusts sent forth a small swarm of Bio-Pods down towards the planet, pretty much the normal invasion force. Once they landed, they'd begin the preparations for a usual Hunt, if there was anything left. In addition, they sent down Planet Crackers, massive worm-like Lorcar adept at survival lethal temperatures and able to burrow through the crust and mantle of a planet to aid in strip-mining all the resources necessary for the Swarm.

The only resource left was gravel and weak stone. The planet was already strip mined, and the FTL slug assult left no biological resources left. However, something strange happened, the core shrank, but intensified in heat, as if rebounding onto itself. However, this would reveal to any Locus scanning the planet, that was Matter-Energy Rejection shield generations in the crust of the planet, that seemed worn and nearly blown. However, it seemed have created a bubble around the mantle of the planet, and where the core was. Right now, that the core had shrank onto itself, it was the only thing keeping the planet stable.

Three Day Rule:

The MER shielding continuedc to bounce the heat of the core back onto itself. Only for it to expand and it the shielding again. As the central most point of the core, a strange mass begam to form, whick caused an implosion of great magnitude. The core of the planet because a psudo-neutron star. Emiting exptreme offencive radiation. The radiation damaged the already wearing MER sheilding beyond the point of funtionality.

A cloud of debris that was once the planet radiated out at near light speads caused many explotions of atomic forces. The offencive radiation of the psudo-neutron star ripped through the system, as most forms of life would lose the ability to retain their genetic syquenceing. Matter itself seemed to loose its bonds, as the very star of the system, colapsed onto itself resulting in a giant release of energy called a super nove
