The Road to Damnation
« on: March 17, 2010, 01:23:33 AM »
Teleporting with quite the loud bang to the opposite side from Fiske, Nisorin finally allowed his cloak to fall behind him. Studded with several amethysts, his ornate blue plate armor held quite a few sharp edges, as if the armor itself was a weapon. Between the shining plates a golden chainmail could barely be seen, shining in the light cast off from the stadium lamps. The pauldrons extended out from his shoulders, shaped from shining, polished bone etched with curving, tribal runes that were filled with ground amethyst. Set in the center of the breastplate's collar glowed a prominent, polished twin crescent malachite stone surrounded with small, rose quartz studs. Standing in a combat position, his hands firmly gripping the hilts of his swords, he stared down the field at Fiske with unyielding eyes. Waiting for the sign to begin from the Ref, he stood still as stone.

The referee suddenly appeared between the two contestants in a swoop of hellfire. The ref, a red-skinned demon, wore a checkered shirt and cacky shorts and had a whistle -- white -- around his neck. In one movement, he swiped his hands upward and the spectator area suddenly was closed in by a transparent hellfire barrier that would block any attack by contestants from hitting the people. And then, the demon raised his hand, looked at both contestants, and nodded before yelling, "Begin!"

With the cry made, the demon suddenly vanished, having exploded in a combustion of hellfire. The arena was now silent, the cries of the people muffled as they watched in excitement, wondering who would make the first move. Fiske wondered the same thing. Finally, he decided he would take action into his own hands and begin the fight. As Fiske began to make a strategy, he couldn't help but feel that this was going to be an interesting battle, especially with the armor of the enemy so seemingly.. armed!

"Is this your first time meeting a Moratlis Hades?" Fiske called out, "A mortal of hell?"

Nisorin smiles and shakes his head at the man. "Now now, where's your manners? Don't you know you need to introduce yourself first?" He calls out, laughing as the various gemstoens on his armor begin to glow their respective colors. Bowing a bit but keeping his eyes locked on his opponent, he sweeps his arms outwards. 'My name, is Nisorin Lertis, Emperor of Reloria." Comes his rather snide addition, quickly followed up by a simple fireburst, a volley of fireballs first spreading into the air, than arcing to home onto Fiske.

Quickly, Fiske rose a small glacier of ice to meet the fire. When the fire met the glacier, it did not melt. Instead, as a great release of steam filled the air, the ice changed from a white color to a redish color, though it retained its same shape. This was no ordinary ice. It was hell ice.

With the fire extinguished by the cool ice, Fiske leaped into the air, landing on his glacier which took to the air slightly, hovering just above the ground. Fiske locked onto Nisorin's eyes. As Fiske glanced at Nisorin, he couldn't help but break out in a grin and a silly wave. This was going to be a fun fight. It'd just begun, and Fiske had already rose a bit of hell ice.

"I'm Fiske," Fiske introduced himself, "Fiske Tyrus, emperor of absolutely nothing. Nice to meet you."

At that moment, a barrage of needles coated with the same kind of hellice began to fall from the air where they were materializing right above Nisorin. One stab would make you so cold, you'd feel like you were on fire.

(lol, I read that as Hell Lice. XD)

With a smirk, Nisorin forms a cone shaped barrier above his head, forcing the icicles to disperse around him as they slid off. "That's some interesting ice you're conjured. Vaguely reminds me of Luna's Permice. But, you're not the only one who's spent time here." He mocks, his hand reaching out for the steam. "Noray Aranse." He calls out strongly, the steam promptly and swiftly swooping in to coat Fiske. In the same movement, he stomps one foot firmly on the ground behind him, the gems on his greave glowing brighter. "Koravve Neranse Aria Norenas Serai." Comes the second incantation, his other hand raising to the sky as a bolt of lightning fires from the tip of each finger, arcing into a star shape that conforms to the top of the barrier created to protect those in the stands. With a sweep of his arm, his fingers point at Fiske, which sends two bolts of lightning raining down from each point on the star, each heading straight for the top of Fiske's head.

The hell needles couldn't get through the barrier, but as they slid and bounced off, a change occurred inside each and every needle. The hellice melted to become hellwater, and it formed a puddle around Nisorin. This in itself easily redirected most of the lightning bolts towards Nisorin. The hellwater would meet the lightning, causing Nisorin to receive quite a shock. Fiske wouldn't even have to worry..

However; there were quite a few lightning bolts which did not redirect. As they came zooming down towards Fiske, he felt their heat. He had been unaware of the bolts due to the heavy fog before, but now he could feel it. Fear flooded his body, but then.. His lightning sword, Corege, absorbed the bolts. Realizing that Corege was in his hand now, Fiske teleported towards Nisorin and held his sword out, making sure to most surely attract the lightning straight to Nisorin himself.

"Norsen korek!" Nisorin shouts, the lightning-charged Hellwater rising up in a sheet around him. With harsh, determined eyes fixating on Fiske's own, Nisorin draws one of his two blades, Lorenya, halfway from its sheath, blocking Fiske's lightning attack from his sword by using Lorenya as a temporary conduit, collecting the lightning absorbed by Corege in the metal of the blade and leaping backwards while spinning a full 360 degrees, the sheet of charged hellwater following. With a thrust into thin air, the lightning collected in Lorenya's blade blasts back out at Fiske once again.

"Pro meus Seraphici." He says calmly, the lightning stored in the Hellwater bursting forth in a shockwave in all directions, while the water itself fuses to form a hail of spears made from heavily compressed hellwater.

Upon his last words, one of the monitors fills with static, before clearing to show what looks to be a glowing, spherical barrier pulsing with its own heartbeat. Small cracks start to form in its casing as the lightning bursts outwards.

The lightning was easily absorbed by Corege once more. As it danced along the blade, it began to charge while forming a sort of ball at the blade's tip. As the lightning ball grew larger, the rest of the blade grew colder. Fiske raised the blade high above his head. He did not bring the blade on Nisorin, but instead brought it down by its hilt, dropping the sword as the hilt pounded against the ground.

The entire sword seemed to be absorbed by the ground which suddenly began to be flooded with water from portals which opened around the arena. Fiske himself took flight in the air, suspending himself there as the water began to pour down. Electricity was building up in the ground slowly.. And water was rising.

Nisorin merely smirked as the water rose, drawing his second blade, Aria, from its sheath and raising its tip to the sky. "Arias Norenya Loresye." He says calmly, merely standing still as the water rises to within half an inch of his feet. The jewels on his armor and swords begin to glow a collective blue, their light spreading through the charged water as if it were crystal. "Jerianse Rorens Niore!" He calls out, touching Lorenya's tip to the ground as the water reaches his feet. Using his own body as a conduit, and his magic as a protective force to prevent damaging it, he directs the charge back into the air, bursting out of Aria's tip to coat the barrier, only to rain down upon the entirety of the battlefield, most of it hitting the water and continuing the cycle Nisorin's channeling, some of it darting for the now Corege-less Fiske.

The compressed-Hellwater spears dart forth at Fiske, collecting lightning as they soared through the air like a peregrine diving for its prey.

There was a clash of red and blue as lights surrounded Fiske, right at the moment in which the hellwater and lightning would have impacted with him. The result was a powerful explosion which would have impacted anyone not trained in fighting if the audience-protecting barrier had not repulsed the shockwaves and sent the full force of the explosion right towards the center of the arena.. Which was exactly what Fiske had intended. As the explosion cleared, if Nisorin had survived, he would find things much different. A smoke had covered the top of the arena's barrier, blocking out much light from the hellfire which lit the arena. It was dark, and the arena was filled with many ruins.

..And in the center of the arena stood a gravestone of kind. A gravestone statue.. Of Nisorin.

Crouched down before the statue in a shell of stone and magic both, Nisorin laughs as the smoke slowly clears, a barrier over his mouth acting as a gas mask. "Such shoddy craftmanship. The eyes are far too large, and my nose is more than a mere couple of dots!" He jokes, standing up with his blades in his hands. "You underestimate me. An explosion isn't enough to take me down" He adds, his open palm extended and facing the statue. "Lorlierlarlen Yeryaryorsa Noriarserien." With his words of power, spoken in ancient Relorian, the statue comes to life and faces Fiske. "A particularly interesting field of magic, wouldn't you agree?" Nisorin calls out, a grin spreading over the statue's face, which promptly charges for his opponent, his footsteps drowning out Nisorin's next incantation, which caused a mixture of ice spikes, flaming arrows, and lightning bolts to arc around the statue, also charging for Fiske.

Before Fiske had time to answer, a statue was charging right towards him. He hadn't even had time to use his spell with the statue. He figured, though, that now was as good as ever. The statue suddenly became nothing but hellfire, which spread out to the surrounding ice and lightning and acted as a sort of wall, slowing its path and ultimately absorbing the attacks. As the fire, ice, and lightning mixed together, Fiske watched amused from above. The formation completed, the elements mixed, and the result was clear: Hell meteorites.

And so, the hell meteorites began to fall towards Nisorin with such momentum that they might as well have been falling for miles.

Seeing the meteors seemed to only brighten Nisorin's day as the various monitors still showing the odd barrier-sphere show more cracks spider-webbing across it, energy seeping through these cracks a good deal faster than through the barrier walls. "Lorlierlarlen Yeryaroren Norier Noriar Norior!" He shouts, one large portal opening up over his head, swallowing up the meteors as the barrier-sphere pulses strongly.

"Korierlesior, noriernoriarnorior, jorestira. Sanctu, dewa zoul." He chants, his hands held open before him with three inches of space between the palms, the meteors-converted-to-energy, again using his own body as a conduit, pour out into the small space, compressing further and further as his swords form an arc over his head. "Decursus in Moriendesus." His voice, disjointed from his body, echoes about the arena, a flurry of purple flower petals erupting from the ground beneath his feet, pushing back the harmful effects of Hell's atmosphere as they swarm in on the orb, forming a solid coating over it.

The energy seeping from the barrier-sphere in the monitors turns the same hue as the petals, and more cracks spread about its surface. The barrier between the combatants and the stands distorts slightly, bulging out in spots while bending inwards in others.

From within the stands, a single woman clothed in a blue armored dress similar to Nisorin's armor rose to her feet, her hands clasped atop her stomach as her voice rung through the barrier, loud and clear above the cheers, jeers, and other miscellaneous sounds of the crowd. "You have my permission to cease holding back, Noriensar. Use any methods you feel you need to, and I will help you with the aftermath. Fight now, and become he who brings the night." She calls out, extending an open palm to the barrier, as if reaching out to touch Nisorin.

With her words, the cracks on the barrier-sphere burst open, filling the screens with a dark purple light. "As you wish, Lorienairre." Comes the unusually strong and loud reply, the orb in Nisorin's hand pulsing as purple tattoos form across his armor, the barrier above him distorting a great deal as the sounds of cracking crystal could be heard throughout the arena. "Decursus in Ultionis!" He shouts, small shockwaves of energy bursting out from his body as he slowly lifts into the air about a foot, his hands spreading away from the orb before darting back in to crush it. Upon its collapse, he lets out a massive roar as his body unwillingly curls up into a ball, shaking violently as his armor mutates, the cloak morphing to form a frayed cape bearing a tribal dragon coiled around a swordsman, the pauldron spikes elongating as the runes shift to form far more menacing, almost demonic glyphs.

He slowly uncurls, his eyes closed as his feet touch the ground, causing it to ripple slightly. Picking his swords back up from the ground, he opens his eyes to glare at his opponent, a violet three-pointed star glowing softly in his pupils. He raises the tip of one blade to point at Fiske, which begins to shudder as if in a violent wind. "Kursonsce." He says softly, a great bolt of white lightning bursting forth from the tip, thunder shaking the entire arena.

But as the thunder hit the weakening barrier above the head of Nisorin which had been slightly distorted by his sudden unleash of power, the barrier did not break. Instead, it seemed to strengthen. The magic which had been used by Nisorin caused the barrier to somewhat repair itself, yet its radius shortened, closing Nisorin into a smaller space. Whatever had just happened was what Fiske wanted, because now he was grinning.

"Try using magic in that barrier again and see what happens, sir. It'll only proceed to make that radius shorter!"

At Fiske's words, Nisorin merely smiles and creates a similar barrier to Fiske's, lining Fiske's barrier, with one single difference. When it absorbs magic, it grows rather than shrinks. "Korianer, Norie Narie Nerie, Lorienairre Desoroe Enersa." He chants slowly, again and again causing shockwave after shockwave to pound into his barrier, forcing it to grow against Fiske's as his shrank. "Which will break first, Mr. Tyris? Mine, or yours?" Nisorin says, his voice low and deeper than usual as the two barriers trembled against each other, his smile turning to a slightly sadistic smirk as he places his hand against the inside of his barrier.

And so, the barriers shattered against each other, having absorbed each other's magic. That foiled Fiske's attack, easily. Fiske had no idea who Nisorin was, or that many Relorians were especially skilled in barriers. He had failed. Now, he had to resort to another attack.

Fiske stretched his hand backwards when suddenly, a wave of pain washed over him. His arms began to lock up, and suddenly, his legs felt like lead. He quickly began a free-fall towards the ground. What was happening!? What was this feeling!?

At that, Nisorin bursts forwards, his swords starting to glow red with heat before he stops about halfway between his original position and where Fiske will land. With a spin on his toes, he swings one blade at Fiske, leading the target as he fell. The heat erupts from Nisorin's blade, forming a crescent blade of thermal energy soaring right for Fiske's landing spot. In the same movement, Nisorin turns in the opposite direction, flipping his blade to hold it underhanded as he slashes vertically with it, forming a sharp, flaming cross soaring at Fiske.

"Pro meus Seraphici Lorienairre! Lories Karrinsa Teranoire Obsterris." He calls out, taking two more spinning steps towards Fiske, blade tips weaving ancient glyphs into the air around him as he almost dances forward. The lights around the arena begin to darken, as if their light cannot reach the eyes of those in the arena. Behind him, spires of stone rise from the arena floor, sparking as they collide at the peak of their ascent.

"Korreus Norreenkai norresarium merrioum Kensarch!" He shouts, the glyphs violently pulling the flaming cross back, absorbing them and causing the lines to brighten.

Fiske's entire form began to change.. Red. Red began to cover his body. A red aura which started at his feet and worked its way up, covering him. It kept climbing higher until it reached his head. Something inside Fiske began to change.. To mutate. And then, in a flash of energy, he had become a creature unlike anything ever seen before:

Some sort of Mutated Dragon.

Seeing his new adversary seems to do nothing to intimidate Nisorin. If anything, he seems to fall further into himself, purple flower petals falling from the arena ceiling as the lights continue to darken. Purple light starts to softly emanate from Nisorin's skin as he connects the final rune lines, which promptly burst into purple light as well, followed by a second roar from Nisorin, more wild and feral than the last. Once the light clears enough for Fiske to see, Nisorin is floating above the ground once more, the Hellfire barrier shifting and distorting rapidly as the harmful energy in Hell's atmosphere is shoved violently away, his cloak now looking to be made of the same purple petals that fall from the ceiling. "Decursus in Delitor." He shouts, extending his blade out towards the dragon, three small orbs of blue spinning rapidly around its tip.

"Lordenderis Karikordio Gergergerigorgen." He calls out, the muscles in his arm tensing tight as seven lightning bolts burst from each of the three orbs, all veering in different directions before thundering in for Fiske. "Dardardum Dercurses Gorkerion Gertorsanskath Kerkarth." With the third incantation, sharpened spires of stone burst forth from the ground beneath Fiske's underbelly, each coated with a layer of purple ice that freezes small amounts of the air around it.

Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

The dragonbeast, taking flight opened its mouth and let out a great roar, the result being a great burst of fire which moved towards Nisorin. And then, as the fire left its mouth, it fell. Its underbelly was its weak spot -- and he could not defend himself from attacks in such a manner. The dragonbeast had one more great roar of fire before it finally fell to the ground, the result being a great shaking of the Earth..

As fire hurled towards Nisorin and the ground began to shake, the form of the dragonbeast became nothing more than his normal sage form, in critical condition.

"Sersarch!" Nisorin yells out, spearing his swords into the ground before him and throwing his open palms towards the fire, a massive field of ice-cold mist bursting from his fingertips. "Joriejersorn nertios!" Comes the second incantation, a sheet of the purple ice eight inches thick forming in the air before Nisorin's palms. "Kersisch Korai!" A four-stage barrier array sphere covers him less than three seconds before the flames enter the mist, throwing large amounts of steam into the air as it weakens and cools. It slams into the ice sheet, cooling the fireball even further until it smashes into the barrier dome, spreading about the ground as it hits, turning a fair bit of the sand to glass. As the flames and smoke clear, a powerful magical pulse bursts out from the impact zone, pushing away the remaining wisps of smoke to reveal Nisorin, once more floating in the air, his back arched and muscles tensed tight as he watches his enemy on the ground.

Jumping to her feet, Celestie magically amplifies her voice, shouting out to the referees. "Fiske Tyris can no longer fight! The match is over! Let Nisorin out, quickly!" Pounding her fist against the barrier separating her from the arena floor, she winces as she feels the powerful backlash through the bond she shares with Nisorin as he slowly starts to lose control.

Fire.

The battlefield suddenly was swept with fire which quickly, magically dispersed. Now, in the middle of the ring, was the referee. The referee glared about the scene of the battle before nodding. Magically, his voice amplified to speak to the entire crowd and fill the entire arena..

"Let it be declared! The first match of Round One between the gentlemen named Fiske Tyris and Nisorin Lertis has ended, with the victor as Nisorin Lertis! The battlefield will now be cleared, and both contestants shall be transported if need be to medical facilities just outside the arena! The next battle shall begin shortly!"

As his words were complete, a portal opened to a medical facility. Fiske's body suddenly was lifted by means of magic. It floated towards the portal where his body passed by. Through the portal Fiske went, off to the hospital wing of Mortality's Planes. Fiske would be treated there, and hopefully, survive.

The referee, no longer amplifying his voice by magic, walked over to a part of the arena under Nisorin and called up to him, "You may enter the portal for medical attention if you would like!"

And then, the referee was gone. A portal opened in front of Celestie granting her passage to the ring to see her husband, as it was noted that he seemed as if he had somewhat lost the ability to think reasonably.
