The Road to Madness
« on: March 17, 2010, 01:59:58 AM »
Teleporting into the spectator stands just behind Celestie, Animas sat and watched the two combatants await the referee's signal, one set of eyes keeping watch on Nisorin, another, magical pair keeping tabs on Celestie, gauging her every movement. Before her physical eyes flashes a short series of purple runes and glyphs, and a smile slowly crept across her face. "And so, they take their first step on the Road of Salvation."
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Approaching Celestie were Angel and Jeffrey Star who looked much humbler than they had in life. Both of them had learned of their mistakes and would never repeat said mistakes again. They said to Celestie simultaneously "Hello Celestie Empress of Reloria. "

She completely ignored them, focusing on her husband's match. The woman behind her shakes her head and laughs, looking over at the two. "Leave her be. She is far too busy to interact with you." She says, her twin male and female voices sounding in tandem. "Please leave, and wait until she has a free moment. I will make sure that she knows you wish to speak with her."

"Don't tell her.  Merely carry the spark in our place. " said Jeffrey removing a small marble. He opened it by means of magic and put the spark in the hands of the woman. "This spark marks a Kuo for life and gives him or her the powers of a Kuo. We wish for it to exist on the mortal plane once again so that there will be one capable of starclan magic in the mortal plane. "

She laughs and shakes her head, handing back the little object. "The Starclanners are not the only Kuo. Kuo is a derogatory term in the Ancient Relorian language denoting a person or group who has greatly wronged the Relorian people. It is one of the worst possible political classifications you can get from them. It is akin to a permanent, near irreversible declaration of war." She explains, her gaze piercing into Jeffrey's eyes as if looking right into him. "It is the only term that carries over unto the Kuo's descendants."

"How can we redeem ourselves in their eyes?" asked Jeffrey wanting to make sure that any starclanners that came out of hiding were not branded for life as Kuo and any that came back to life thanks to his clever plan would not die by the hand of Reloria.

Angel merely held out her hand and grabbed Jeffrey. "Calm down and relax my husband. It is time that you got some relaxation. " She smiled warmly and soothingly at Jeffrey in an attempt to keep him calm.

(That's some awkwardly worded dialogue...)

"You can't. Once a Kuo, always a Kuo. Your kind have comitted massive crimes against theirs, things they believe to be unforgivable." She replies, shaking her head and looking over at Angel. "My my, that was quite the odd statement."

"I am trying to keep him from going into his blood berserker state. " said Angel to Animas. "Something that even in death he retained. It really pisses me off that he still has access to that state even in hell. She really didn't like it that the state he was in was currently a bad one."

Jeffrey was beginning a transformation despite Angel's efforts. His arms and legs began to scale over and black wings grew out of his back.

Angel took one look at Jeffrey "Cryo!" she shouted trying to use an ice spell to freeze Jeffrey solid. It didn't work.  "Crud."

Animas merely sighs and forms a seven-stage layered barrier around Jeffrey, designed to keep any inside manipulations from affecting the space outside the barrier. And considering that Animas is a great deal stronger magically than Jeffrey, the chances of him breaking it are slim.

When hit by the barrier Jeffrey's fingers turned into talons which attempted to slice through the barrier.  Much to his dismay however the intended maneuver didn't succeed as he had originally planned.

Angel was quickly looking through a pouch at her waist and growled in frustration. "Where did I put that calming potion?" She scowled realizing she had died and forgotten how to make another calming potion and currently had none that could stop Jeffrey. The barrier would hold him but for how long? Angel really didn't wish for it to expire and so she added her own magical strength to that of Animas making the barrier resist StarClan Magic until Jeffrey would calm down.

Beginning a slow and gradual process Jeffrey transformed back. First the wings vanished from off of him and the talon like fingers morphed back to their original form. Following that the scales began to melt off of his skin.

"He is becoming normal but please don't lower the barrier yet. "  said Angel -

Animas merely sighs again and lowers the barrier anyway. "He's your husband, it's your responsibility to learn how to deal with this. Now go deal somewhere else." She says, looking back to the fight.

Angel groaned knowing that it would be a hard road ahead for her and Jeffrey especially now. He had began the transformations too early for someone of his power level and thus she had to appoint a star to seek the one power that potentially could quell his rage ability for good. Yet which star could she send? There were thousands to choose from and yet she needed someone who had been on the mortal plane recently. As she thought about her dilema and walked with Jeffrey she decided it had to be Veritas who was sent to retrieve the power needed to stop Jeffrey from entering such a state again.

As they walked away, Animas scoffed at their backs, just barely loud enough for them to hear. "Fools."

Oblivious to the exchange, Celestie sat on the edge of her seat, eyes trained on her own husband. "Nisorin..."
