...Then you'll take the dumbass' lazy way out. Have fun with that dude, know that it'll cost you most of what respect you have on here.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

If I go as far as letting my planets explode then why the hell would I care what the people of the site think? Really, right now Im more against the idea that to get people posting you have to punish them. Hiro had the idea of ending the magic eclipse but nooooo we had to go with taking out the only other vital part of SP. yay.

But, I'll go to this note: If in fact my ships are not killed and the life support stays on, then I will indeed participate. However, if the ship's life support is turned off and it kills all those people then I will take all my stuff, kill it off and the site will be worse off for it because of our small memberbase. (That and Hiro will go if that happens because he REALLY likes the Elementals.)

I'm watching active but until K2's event gets underway I can't do a damn thing. I pushed all my characters (Excluding the Lothar Academy, which is probably going to be a background group now.) into the event. The Attack on Luna City now requires K2 as well, so I honestly can't do anything until K2 gets back so until then I'll just keep watching.

I'm sorry but until I get a reason why this event is worth time and not just messing everything up I'm going to ignore it and wait for K2's return. As I stated in my last post your computer is a technology and it will have to kill itself as soon as someone points that out to it under its technological logic abilities.

In the long run this isn't a bad event idea. Its just a stupid time to launch it.

Electrical tech is dead c:
That means there is no reason to continue this. We would be done without technology. Anyone else realize this or is it just me. Without technology and magic no one can go anywhere. They would be stuck. Thus the point of continuing this would be pointless because we have a bunch of planets with people on it who can't go anywhere. Sure we can play that out but eventually the lack of going somewhere new is going to bore people and we will lose more members.

You simpleton. You can make tech that works off of non-electrical things too! Use your brain instead of being a lazy (op/advance spoiled) user.

Its not that simple if a ship is in the middle of no where. They would die from the lack of oxygen. On top of that the ship can't go anywhere. Now lets look at Luna City that has millions of people. Once technology is gone they can not leave and the Moon has no oxygen. Well tough luck to all those people I take it? What about the DAIS that are technology? Oh well? Zak has a really good reason to be upset about this.

You cannot create a form of life support without technology or magic. There are about a hundred things preventing that. Perhaps before you go around insulting people by calling them a simpleton you should actually ask them why they think this.

They won't exactly die from lack of O. Because the oxygen particles are far apart(ever notice that when you gain altitude the air goes thin?), Things happen. In space especially. Your blood would boil, any air particles inside you would expand and make you explode.

What is this nonsense about boiling blood and self explosions? It's true. In a higher altitude, try to boil water. It'll bubble up before it reaches 100 degrees Celsius.

Now Logan, He's upset, sure. Hiro is also. Lyoko himself is taking a huge loss as well but he isn't sitting on his ass and complaining. They can still do something. And you know? If they die, they die. Tough luck to them. This was bound to happen. EVERYONE should know that. Whether or not it was gradually revealing itself, EVERYONE should have foreseen this. This is what happens when you're highly advance in tech without a thought in the world that one day tech shut down.

Bitch at me all you want, but trying is the best thing to do instead of giving up. And Logan, if memory serves, I think The DAIS aren't able to function. If you read around, I think Lyoko posted that somewhere. Zak's upset, sure. Bu his complaining is just nonsense after Dylan, Nisorin, Lyoko and I have said the same general reasons over and over.

*Sighs*
Based on human statistics, one cubic meter of air has enough oxygen to last you two hours. I'd estimate that most ships have roughly thirty cubic meters of air per person (about the size of a small room). Which means there would be enough oxygen to last them almost three days. As I've pointed out, effectively everyone can manually run their engines without electricity in an emergency, assuming there's at least one guy on board that knows how their engines work (if you don't have an engineering crew onboard, it's kinda your own fault, dude).
Basically what I'm saying is, you have three days to reach the nearest planet. Probably more, in fact, since every race on the forum is "they're humans but better", so you probably don't need to breath as often. Anyone complaining that they're going to die because of this is working on the basis that it's completely impossible to come up with a creative solution for anything. That wasn't even a creative solution. "Turn on the engines and fly home" is not a creative solution.

Actually, what you should be worrying about isn't life support at all, it's space debris. Without your shields, a pair of sunglasses in orbit could probably rip through your hull. Enjoy. =3

Both've you are wrong and right. Swift is correct in that we can make new technology. Swift is incorrect in assuming we'd be able to remake space travel, or other methods of getting from one planet or another. Barring the obvious reality that there is a REASON we use electricity to power our technology in real life and on the forum, I have two points:My first point is that it, quite frankly, would mean that each race has to start back before the information era and move from there. We have to reinvent EVERYTHING, using pretty much completely new concepts. Now, if our races stayed united, then they could feasibly reinvent everything in a relatively short time, at least compared to how it was previous to that. Which means we'd only have to wait a couple generations before we'd have the ability to get to the next planet in our solar system...Wait, no, thats a bad thing. My second point is that this has to be done ENTIRELY without inorganic computers(not that anyone would be making any at the level of technology anyways). Disregard how computers use electricity. Thats not what I mean. Alpha hacked into every devicethat in the dimension that utilizes a form of computer to run. Even those we dont think of as computers, obviously. The only thing these devices would have in common is the fact that they compute and process data. Presumably, it would not be impossible for Alpha to take nonelectronic ones. Therefor, we would have to do every technological advancement by hand, and we cannot use technology to store any form of data any longer. Unless of course Alpha's not keeping track of newly made computers, in which case he's quite frankly kind of a idiot since it'd take all but a month to replace the locked tech if everyone works together and shares knowledge(unlikely, but still). So, without the advantage of ANY form of computer, it will take far longer to develope whatever this new means of unaided space travel is. And you can say goodbye to reaching any other solar systems without a navigation system(which would rely on computational technology, of course). So, Logan is right about this event being unsustainable. If people are stuck, they wont play the game for long(after all, everyone can only RP with people on the planets they're on, if there's nobody else there who wants to RP by themself?). In addition, he is not talking about surviving, Swift. He's talking about having fun. There is a important difference in keeping a forum alive.

Logan, however, is not entirely correct either. You do bring up good points but you do fail at Alpha's motive. He doesn't hate technology, he wants to keep it out of the hands of the Empires, in order to stop them from warring. Im not bringing this up from this topic, its from the other one, but it still applies. His motivation is bringing peace by force, not a hatred of technology. Do take that into account. Also note that Swift's own points have merit and that this all should remain temporary. If it doesn't, then there isn't any arguing your points, but if it does then there is stuff to do in the meantime.

My apologies for taking your 'hi Im back' topic, Jeebus, though this hopefully shall be the end of the jacking to it. I do hope that your vacation to the Land of Cheese and Wine went well, for what its worth. :P

Did I say anything about space travel? I thought I was talking about survival. I am aware that fun keeps a forum alive longer. But I see no fun in constant 'invasions and wars' on this site. It's one of the reasons (other than starting point issues) that I've hesitated to even post IC on this forum.

Swift, you and him are arguing about different things, and he's not talking about wars. You said survival. HE said space travel. You're arguing with him, so Im using his points. If you wanna make points about survival, then dont pick a argument with someone talking about something else. As for the other point, that he isn't talking about wars. Well. Not true, not untrue. The point wasn't 'give us tech so we can fight each other', it was 'give us tech so we're not stuck RPing with ourselves like a bunch of gits because our entire planets are isolated and nobody else has a presence here'. RPing with yourself is only fun for so long, then it gets boring, then people leave. Therefor, its not sustainable.

Okay, Swift lets look at it this way. Given what Dylan said is true my people can survive three days and go at sublight speeds. All right, cools. However, considering the Plex Tournament lasted for MONTHS on end, I dont think they'll survive. I have every right to be angry about this dumb event because it fucks with everything we've done since our joining. ALL our computers are down, our navigation computers, our communication systems that send to seperate systems... Our empires are all cut into pieces DURING the no magic phase. That just means warlords and a whole bunch of other stuff that most people probably dont want to deal with. I am amply pissed at the staff for complaining to me about my complaining when no one offered any event ideas (Lyoko) when not once did they ask the general populace or EVEN THE OTHER STAFF about the event. Instead couldnt they, I dont know, just turn off the Anti Magic event and leave everyone to gather things up? Nooo, they had to take away both!
Its not just me who is upset by it either! At least five people out of, how many 'active' members? Have complained and said this event was stupid and of poor timing. So, for once, if the staff would listen to what their member base wants, they'd agree to take other ideas into consideration. Or at least compromise to the point that life support is on/unaffected.

At the time Jeebus and K2 weren't here. Activity died, so they were desperate. Again as I said in another topic, there were no ideas for anything on a topic asking for ideas from the member group. They wanted to do something interesting, and the events right now would have happened sooner or later.

I know about these others being upset. And I agree staff should listen to the members. Hiro, Lyoko and I are doing something IC right now to end the tech issue ASAP so you can stop whining and continue life as normal(but without magic). So calm yourself.

For those wanting some new way to space travel/whatever...

http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Zerg

Organic race that takes over entire planets. I'm not saying rip them off like no tomorrow, buuuut how about some organic living ships? All of it's bodily functions can do all o' your life support and since they're living, their spirit energy and internal magic is up for grabs for things like FTL travel and weaponry. This also creates different problems too, seeing as your ship now needs to eat or have some form of energy to keep it alive, but I'm sure people could figure that out.

That's an idea. Maybe we can breed a whole new different archetype of races by the time this is over; Instead of Magic or Technology races, we could also have these swarming omnomnoming races all over the place, like some race's organic ships become self aware and then make a whole species off that.

Maybe I'll have a few more ideas, hopefully to fit other races that don't want to delve into the whole 'making life = right reserved only by god' theology.

On a normal ship. But Luna City would still be screwed. They use a shield to artificially make an atmosphere and without the shield no gravity, and air, because space will vent it. This is all because I have to have them on the moon because the dumb mother nature plot.

Another thing. A ship wouldn't be able to move without the engines. They'll die slower than the others but they are going to die. This is a bad plot idea. Hikaru is only supporting it because she has no connection to technology. Same with you to be honest Yuki. You have no understanding how much technology goes into our races to keep them functioning.

Perhaps you should force the staff to quit withholding plot information. Because I have it from two different members that K2's event is going to wipe out the technological existence plane. Which who in there right mind made technology part of existence. Technology is a tool. You don't see your fork being part of existence.

Logan you're neglecting the fact that you CAN do something about this stuff IC.
