A new force has just arrived... A force of which no one has ever seen before. A new entity has entered the Shattered Planes, and he is not here to make friends. He is the Alpha. The originator of most technology, and off all computers. The base code.

At 0400 hours, Galactic Standard Time, all electronic technology, computers, ect were taken over by the entity known as Alpha. In every screen, on every world the above emblem was displayed along with the following message displayed, and spoken.

Can the civilizations of the SP band together and stop this threat? Or will they turn their heads in ignorance or fear? With no magic, or advanced technology, who can tell.

Not all technology would be debunked by taking away computers and code. Take a revolver for ex ample. It's a metal bit pulled into another metal bit that ignites the powder in the bullet. No code involved. Other technology will fit the same standards.

Simple machines/machinery not powered by electricity and AI. As Lyoko has said is chat yesterday, AI want to seek out Alpha, electronics are dead, but machinery without electricity will still work.

Yeah, no. Fuck this. Im sorry, but this is just the most utterly stupid thing that could've happened to the site. Yes, the no magic thing was interesting and all but without electronic technology pretty much every faction is screwed over. You all dont seem to get this but most ships are controlled via computers, these computers control the fine aspects of a ships working such as destination jumps, FTL travel and, oh, you know LIFE SUPPORT. With this one OOC move you've doomed more people then have ever died in IC fights. A quarter of the Zarethian Empire is spacebound. Congrats, with neither magic nor electronic computing technology, they're now going to die of asphyxiation. As if that wasnt bad enough, each of the planets would be cut off from one another and the already fragile situation is going to devolve into something akin to a post-apocalyptic situation.

And that's not just the Zarethian Empire, that'll happen aaaaaaaaaall over to advanced civilizations being flung back to the pre-information era.

Oh and I didnt mention the Mechera did I? Since theyre not AI but must use electronics to interact with their robotic body, well, they're essentially trapped in their cyberspace reality and cant get out or influence the real world at all. So, essentially, whats happened with Swift's planet where she has been prevented from RPing? Yeah, you're screwing over Hiro with that in this move.

So, uh, unless this move is retconned... well, you've just shot any previous interest in the board I've had and have lost a member. Thanks guys.

Hikaru BSed the attack on my planet. The attack 'never happened'. What prevented me from rping really was cap's neglect to get issues solved and/or not posting in the topic AT ALL. Partially this issue was because the IC topic was locked, but it was to be unlocked when everything was resolved. It didn't appear to solved on the OOC topic and then Cap and Nik said that they came to a conclusion for these issues(Which they never posted). So really, inactivity on the invasion was the main issue. But it's no nulled so nothing appears to have happened to the planet.

Announcement: You're not even active Lyoko! Ive not seen one real IC post in any of the topics that I know you're in with the Zarethian Empire and you essentially killed the Hell takeover topic. You also havent been exercising your administrative approval rights on the three things I requested a week ago, something that has been keeping me from using my new ideas! Other then that I'm stuck waiting on K2. So I may bitch if I want to.
ALSO: In case no one here is a fan of Red vs Blue, yeah, nice take with the "Alpha AI" Bs. If you wanted plot ideas you could've, you know, asked before making a move that destroyed everything we've previously built.

And Swift: I meant they're essentially putting him in stasis where he cant post with them at all.

In my opinion, this was a rather... ridiculous move to also deny technology because the Vionix fleet is now trapped around Luna City and unable to do anything. Then again all of their ships are controlled by AI so the entire fleet will try and find "Alpha" which makes the Vionix unable to do anything. No magic means that Lazule is unable to do anything as well.... so I'm pretty much disabled on this site now as well. I think that this idea should be removed and maybe something like Alpha has infected an ancient fleet that is invading the galaxies and is trying to spread? to actually give us a chance to fight back.

What if we dont want to deal with the Staff taking away our work? Right now it seems that our fleets are disabled and without life support we cant have the fleet crew survive. I for one dont want to hve to deal with staff members who forcefully slaughter large sections of our empire and take out all the time wwe've spent requesting ships and stuff.

This event is way to dumb. I'm sorry but right now there is no magic. With this event you are killing technology. That pretty much will end everything. We can't go anywhere without technology. Also your Alpha is a paradox. It wants to destroy all technology yet it is technology. Any one else see the problem there? If you just tell it that statement it will be forced to kill itself.

After a few days of not being on the site I've decided to say what I honestly think about this event.

This is by far the stupidest idea I have ever seen on Shattered Planes. I could go watch Megapiranna or MegaShark vs Giant Octopus to see far greater than tenfold the intelligence that went into this thought. The wording on my previous sentence makes is better than the idea of this event.

For the record, I've seen dozens of fictional stories that prove loosing tech can be great. I cite my first example as Jericho, a CBS serial I liked as a kid about the US after a nuclear strike taking out most major cities as well as the power supply. However, this is shattered planes. We've just lost magic. This is bad timing. Yet I can forgive that.

What I cannot forgive is the explanation. The idea of all tech coming from a single being hat is tech is insanely stupid. The idea of all code being derivative from a single source is stupid enough to begin with, especially for a multiple-person RP. I've wanted to make my characters, the Heliphlein, different. They came about hidden from the rest of the universe and have developed tech from scratch. Their pixels are supposed to be hexagons rather than squares. There is literally no way that Alpha could connect to their systems through this explanation, unless you said that it was just that good. However, we've been through this before. Hikaru and Nisorin shut me out when I tried to request a ship that could hack into a ship of different technology without it be metagaming. As they said it, no Hollywood hacking. The Alpha is something that has already been demonstrated illeagle be SP precedent. Zak has contacted me about quitting SP over this, and frankly, I agree. I'm leaving SP for the duration of this event or until staff comes to their senses and mulls it entirely.

You never even stopped to ask yourselves, "How can i make this fun for myself?" or "How can i help defeat this enemy?" but NO. You all want to sit back, and fucking complain 24/7. Hell, I would've loved to help but generallly when people give advice on plot stuff to the staff on this site they're treated to a "Yeah, sure we'll take into consideration (and by consideration we mean ignore it)"

Or, perhaps just wait it out until K2 and Jeebus were back? There was no reason to be desperate! SP has seen faaaaar worse then a few weeks of inactivity!

And I never saw any such topic, Swift and at least three times a week I've come on all summer and looked through the recent topics.

Zak, the fact is that what's done is done. The event has alredy started, and now you have a choice. Help finish it, or wallow in your own self-pity and complain about everything. If you chose the second, then this site is obviously not for you. I have no self pity, Lyoko. Its a simple fact that no one likes the event that you've created. If you have the life support on? Fine. I can deal with that as I said I would. If theres life support then I can work with it.
