Cain and Able + Cero
« on: July 25, 2012, 10:29:21 PM »
The Wayword had scrapped all of their resources, they had been abandoned by their own. Not a single bit of mercy would be spared. Their entire fleet was put to the task of attacking the homeworld. Because they wanted their homeworld intact, their shock and awe tactic that required only a small fleet would not be the paradigm used here.

On General Kuun's ship, their ally Cero, was to provide magic support.

That was the plan at least. During the FLT jump... magic stopped working. Why? The Wayword did not know. It was a turn for the worse, had the collective created a new kind of AM field that could target they? They could only speculate.

When the Wayword dropped out of FTL, a day away from the planet on sub-light engines, their Fold Warp wouldn't work, they couldn't close the gap to attack. Even worse, their shields, Closed-circuit communications, and all of their weapon systems ceased to function. Only their sub-light engines, their analog computer, who was also a Marid specialized to pilot worked. In one day they would, in survival, not war have to attack.

General Kuun turned to Cero, "Well, could be worse. We could have to get out and paddle."

"Heheheh...Well, you won', anyhows. But, ah've got somethin' of a half-sane plan. You got any idea where the closer of them enemy ships are? How long it'll take us to reach 'em?" Cero said, testing his Magic. As he thought, he couldn't project it...But he could still feel it, within both the gun he was sealed in and the body he'd taken for himself. He started by casting a Oxygen Independency spell on himself and a spell to allow his body to withstand vacuum, finding to his glee that it worked just fine.

Do you have what it takes to change your destiny, to defy FATE itself?
Let us test the limits of your abilities, and see if you have the WILL to do what no one else tries.

After a short whisper in the General ear from another Officer, he said, "About 22 hours. Our last sensor logs reported us being detected during FTL drop, so the this doesn't give us any surprise factor, their fleet will be just as mobilized."

The Wayword ships continued on coarse to the Homeworld.

The Collective Fleet had a pretty good theory as to who the invaders were, intelligence reports made the possibility of the Tefillin Disaster having survivors... who were committing acts of conquest in recent months. However, for an invasion force to arrive so soon... was unexpected. Whats more, the lack of both magic, and then electrical tech was a blow to logistical planning. Everything was being scrapped together to run without their shielding, in low orbit that meant that some minor haul breaches were just to be expected, and that no atmosphere should be attempted inside their vessels.... good thing they didn't need one.

Another strange thing... four thousand Wyvern Shaman requested to help defend their world, through internal magic they could breath, and fly in space. Yet, the most interesting thing, was the biology of their acidic breath. They organized in squads to work with ships in the fleet.

Then there were the Ghouls... whom appeared as mysteriously, as they disappeared, saying they would help, with no further explanation.

All in all, the Collective Fleet was to meet the Wayword in Geosynchronous orbit in 22 hours.
