The Plot
In the ancient days, millions upon millions of years ago, there came to be great, mystical beings named
embodiments -- the very forces we know today given flesh and blood; time, chaos, insanity, revenge -- whom ruled in a realm known only as
North. The embodiments were ruled by two brothers, the embodiment of
Creation and the embodiment of
Destruction, and together, the brothers led the embodiments to attempt the forsaken -- they tried to play God. They tried to create life.
The embodiments created the
Dimensional Plane, a massive structure between their realm, North, and the barren wastelands of
South. The Dimensional Plane held several
realms which they named
dimensions, each one different -- some were decorated with massive stars and planets. Others were decorated with endless expanses of land and sky. And in these many dimensions, the life that the embodiments created came to be. Some, such as ourselves, were mere humans, gifted with vast intellect and emotion. Others were alien races of all sorts and shape. Some built spaceships and conquered the stars. Some learned to unlock the mystical secrets of existence with magic. None of them had any idea that they were mere creations of the embodiments.
However; in the expanse of
North, trouble was brewing at the time that these people were created. The creations of the embodiments lacked a fundamental element that would make them complete: Free will. Without a cosmic choice of right and wrong, good and evil, the creations of the embodiments were mere puppets. In order for the creations to be complete, an evil would have to exist, a wrong that was apart from the right. Destruction volunteered. Leading a rebellion in the North, he started the bloodiest war existence ever saw --
The Harbinger -- a war among the embodiments themselves.
Losing the war, Destruction and his followers were outcast to
South, otherwise known as Erebus, and eventually, Destruction was sealed into dark slumber. Free will came into existence, and the creations of the embodiments lived their lives obliviously. When they died, they would go to the
afterlife which the embodiments had created. Life became routine. The embodiments did their jobs without question, presiding over their forces, rarely fighting. Things were
normal. Until...
It happened one night in a dimension inhabited by a race known as
sage. The Sages were great magic users -- mythological creatures such as dragons, phoenixes, unicorns, and many more (though the sages preferred to take on a humanoid appearance most of the time, shape-shifting at will). In a small village in the Sage Dimension, a young girl named
Hikaru Tyris, daughter of the village chief, freed an evil sorcerer named
Zere from his prison. Together, Zere and Hikaru set out to destroy the village which Hikaru had been raised in -- and to particularly kill Hikaru's newborn twin brothers, Kai and Kaleb. Kai and Kaleb were very special twins who held an ancient, powerful dragon magic within them, a magic which had once belonged to Zere's enemy. However; the young Hikaru was not capable of killing the twins, and only managed to seal away the dragon magic deep within the twins, to prevent them from being able to use the powerful magic.
Before Zere could kill the twins, a mysterious man named Konjan arrived to rescue them. Konjan was a
Guardian, a sort of inter-dimensional police agent sworn to protect the innocent. Zere fought Konjan and his team, and managed to escape along with Hikaru. Over the next decade or so, Hikaru was raised by Zere, taught the ways of dark magic and trained to kill. The twins, meanwhile, were trained by Konjan and the Guardians, shrouded from their past and the circumstances which led to the death of their family. Unable to use the powerful
Genesis dragon magic, the twins were taught more simpler kinds of magic by the Guardians instead. However; nothing could prepare them for
that day.
Hikaru, now eighteen, arrived in the Guardian Dimension and started to massacre the Guardians. Konjan managed to save Kaleb (Or "K2" as he was known) and Kai, teleporting them away. Lost and now separated, K2 and Kai were alone, confused. K2 found himself in a valley, in the dead of night, lost, confused. He tried to use the powerful
Dimensional Teleportation spell to get back to the Guardian Dimension, only... The spell botched. And instead, he teleported himself to a
different dimension. Our dimension.
Long ago, a branch of the Guardians known as the
Aralangs, advanced scientists, came to the dimension which
Earth was located in, a dimension they called the
Shattered Planes. They conquered the stars here, and in order to defend the humans and other races in the dimension, they built a powerful barrier around the dimension to keep out various enemies. K2 accidently broke that barrier, and so it had begun. It was only a matter of time before others discovered the dimension K2 had just discovered -- including Kai and Hikaru.
Kai, Hikaru, and K2 became rivals, conquering the planets of the dimension and building armies to outdo each others' kingdoms. Over the centuries to come, they would find their cosmic war, becoming legends due to their strength as sages. They would earn the nickname of the
Sage Three, a terrifying trio who, over the thousand years that their kingdoms fought, would face not only each other, but unbelievable enemies of great strength and power. However; all great things must come to an end.
Hundreds of years had passed, and the Sage Three met their demise. Kai staged his own suicide in order to leave the dimension and find a new life. However; when he was staging his death, he accidently unlocked a great, powerful evil in the process. He
managed to unseal Destruction from his slumber. Over the next ten years, Destruction would begin to awaken, and
Sakael, a
Keeper who watched Destruction, would start his search for the ancient magic of
Revelation which had originally been used to seal Destruction -- a magic Hikaru herself wielded.
K2, meanwhile, would leave the dimension in search of Kai, and Hikaru would soon leave herself. The great kingdoms of the Sage Three crumbled at last, and the original races of this dimension -- races such as the humans -- would rise up once more. Science ruled the stars again, and empires of great technology replaced what magic had done prior. A great alliance known, well, as
The Alliance formed to keep the balance of power in the dimension, and all was well for the next decade. But it was only a matter of time before K2 and Hikaru returned, and when they did, a war between magic and technology began, the First Sage War. K2's army was defeated by the Alliance, and over the next few years, a strange thing began to happen -- magic and technology began to merge, with the empires among the stars using
both.
Sakael soon caught up to Hikaru, and they recruited a large army to stand against Destruction when it came time to reseal him. However; Hikaru did
not force him back into his slumber, instead sealing the embodiment into a humanoid form. Destruction, suffering from amnesia, took on the name
Koty and joined Hikaru's side, trying to piece back together who he was. And it was only a matter of time before he remembered just that, at which point, he
vanished.
Meanwhile, the Alliance was fighting a strong new enemy -- the
Twilight Empire, ruled by a man named Zirridian. Zirridian's empire brought a reign of terror upon the Alliance by using the mysterious Twilight Energy, an energy which converted other types of matter and energy into more Twilight Energy. The energy was used to turn entire planets into Twilight, and the Alliance didn't know how to stop it, but everything changed about a year after Koty vanished.
Koty, you see, had
sons -- parts of himself ripped away and used to form off-springs. One of these sons, a man named Vincent, arrived to do his father's work, and used his father's power to create
Dusk, a counterpart to Twilight. Starting a feared empire to battle the Twilight, the Alliance watched in terror as eventually, the Twilight and Vincent's Empire decided to
merge, creating the powerful
Nyx Federation, the greatest threat the Alliance had ever met. So began the bloody
Nyx War which would lead to the end of both the Alliance and the Nyx.
And then, finally. Peace. For the next few years after the Nyx War, there was peace once more. However; this was only temporary. Eventually, Hikaru would cast a war against the
Aralangs, a massive technological empire which refused magic. This massive war would come to be known as the
Second Sage War, and it caused the dimension to once more erupt into violence. Feared organizations such as the
Anrufe and the
Archive joined the Aralangs as powerhouses among the stars, and war became the norm once more.
While there was war among the Shattered Planes, the afterlife had grown boring. Radical, the overseer of the
wicked and sinful in the afterlife, grew bored, and decided to stir things up. He had his eyes set on a powerful, mysterious weapon known as
Plex. Plex was a weapon which the Guardians had built long ago, capable of
killing embodiments, but it had been dormant for years. The weapon itself was sentient, and it had been infused into one of two
dimensional cores, a sort of power source for the dimensional plane. It's massive power would reek terror if ever unlocked, and Radical wanted to do just that, but he himself was a follower of
Destruction and was unable to unlock Plex himself.
Calling upon some of the most powerful entities in existence, he created a tournament, using this mysterious power as a prize for the winner, though none of the contestants truly knew the extent of what
Plex was -- or that Radical was planning to simply
use the winner to unlock Plex for himself. However; Radical's tournament (in which even Destruction participated) would provide him with little answers. As it turned out, the key to unlocking Plex was sealed within a man named Sirius. And Radical wasn't the only one who wanted to unlock Plex.
The order among the embodiments had grown... Rebellious. Many embodiments were rebelling against the old order of Creation and Destruction. For the first time since the Harbinger, civil war broke out among the embodiments. These Rebel Embodiments sought to unlock Plex and use it against the
Loyalist embodiments, to destroy the old order once and for all. They kidnapped Sirius, and managed to unlock Plex... And start the Plexan War.
The war was massive. Plex's power rained down upon the dimensions, and embodiments sleighed one another upon the battlefield. Sages, Aralangs, humans, Relorians -- many races joined together to fight the massive enemies. It was a war as bloody as the
Harbinger. However; there was a solution to the war. A great weapon built using energies from the
Outerverse, the other dimensional core which, like Plex, was a power source to the Dimensional Plane. This weapon, in the form of five golden orbs, was the only hope to defeat Plex once and for all.
A massive army formed, prepared to enter Plex and destroy it once and for all. The leader of this army was
Jay, a Templar -- a follower of the embodiment of Time and a chronomancer -- who took the orbs into Plex and used its power. Activating the orbs, light flooded into the darkness that was Plex as Jay became a
Warrior of the Light, a sort of
avatar for the Outerverse itself to work through. The evil weapon that had been infused into the dimensional core was defeated, ending the Plexan War -- and the Rebel Embodiment war.
One might think that after one of the bloodiest wars in existence, there would be peace. Many empires in the dimension of Shattered Planes sought to achieve this. They chose the space-station of False Heaven as the location for the largest peace conference the dimension had ever seen, and all sorts of empires and races arrived to talk of ending the bloody violence between one another. However; it was during this peace conference that a dark woman named Kurai, a
negi (a dark doppelgänger) of Hikaru, attacked the peace conference, destroying the space station. This action would cause the dimension to continue its war path, and over the next eight years, the empires fought one another violently.
Which brings us to today. The year is 2062 (Galactic Standard Time). Among the stars, the majority of empires today do blend magic and technology together well. The Rebel Embodiments are largely silent, forced to obey the embodiment order. Destruction has died, though the twin children of he and Hikaru have become his successor, the new embodiment of Destruction. Things are heating up again, as the embodiment of Revenge has started to venture out and disobey the old embodiment order, interfering in the affairs of the empires among the dimension, starting new wars. And...
Something dark awaits. Plex was defeated eight years ago, but is that the end of the story? Or is it just the beginning?
