The Eight Horsemen (Misery)
« on: August 18, 2012, 02:58:03 PM »
"I am the sorrow that follows death, the grief to haunt your soul, I am Misery and... I'm such a failure!"
-Misery

Character Name: Misery

Age: Unknown, estimated dawn of existence

Gender: Male

Race: Horseman of the Assured

Appearance: Misery is what you could call a stereotypical "emo", he has long black hair that rests down to his shoulders with a long fringe brushed to the side to completely cover his right eye. He stands around 8'1" and weighs in at around 100 Kg, he is one of the lightest of the eight horsemen. His armour is formfitting black half-plate, the full metal sections covering his shoulders, thighs and chest while chainmail flows over the rest of his body to protect him from harm. He wears a black belt half hanging from his waist and a spiked, black choker around his neck to just add to the feel of depression. The thing that picks him out as Misery is the constantly bleeding wounds on his wrists and the tears which always flow from his eyes, his face is quite full with sunk in eyes of deepest azure while his skin is extremely pale, almost making him look like a stereotypical vampire as well.

His flipside however, Joy, looks the opposite to Misery. His armour turns to shimmering white, reflecting and bouncing the nearest star's rays around in long, bright lightbeams and his hair turns to soft, shining gold. His eyes turn to yellow in his head while his skin takes on a tan and the wounds on his wrists heal over instantaneously, the tears from his eyes stopping at the exact same time. He almost seems to give off an air of sunshine and warmth when he turns to Joy, compared to the air of grief that Misery gives off.

His horse, Melancholy, is a short, dark blue mare with a mane of midnight black, seemingly dark enough to absorb all light from nearby, making one's vision dim slightly upon staring at it for too long. The horse's eyes are of a slightly lighter blue compared to its coat and its chemistry with its rider is nothing all too special, they act as Rider and Mount should.

Alliance: The Eight Horsemen

Personality (one paragraph minimum): The main part of Misery's personality, Misery himself is a dark, cold and always very, very sad person. He generally never talks to anyone and when he does it is brief and with as much whining, moaning and bitching as he can get done in that small space of time. Most generally tend not to talk to him much because of this. He seems to be afflicted with severe depression and very low self confidence, causing him to doubt his abilities at almost all times and whine about everything that annoys him even a little bit. During combat he is very much different and can be found whining about how much he hates getting bloody even as he rams his weapon into an enemy's stomach.

His other personality however, Joy, is a much stranger being. He turns into what can only be called a stereotypical "Hippie" and even though he constantly talks about peace and how fighting should stop, he still isn't below tearing an enemy's throat out with his teeth. He doesn't whine anymore but instead just talks about how much the Horsemen should be careful when fighting around trees and animals and as such he generally sticks back and uses his changed magic to influence nature during battle and to help his allies more than attack his foes.

Inventory: Sorrow - This straight razor is Misery's personal weapon, it has an edge about half a foot long and is indescribably sharp and appears to never dull. This blade is also unbreakable, like all weapons of the Horsemen considering they are never allowed to use others.

Toy Hammer - This weapon resembles a blow up toy hammer with a sad face on the front of it, for some reason however it seems to hit like a warhammer and is capable of crushing in the sides of tanks while still squeaking with every hit.

Armour of the Horsemen - This Armour seems to be completely useless because of the low amount of it but it is in fact incredibly strong, capable of taking even railgun shots and still surviving and generates a slight barrier of the Horseman's magic when worn. These suits of armour also incorporate some form of AAM, allowing them to use magic at all times.

Combat Level: 5
- Magic  Level: 4
- Physical Strength: 6

Character's History: Misery was never anything else but Misery, created at the birth of time along with his 7 brothers, he was the saddest and most whiny of the group, never believing in his own abilities.. He was taught how to harness his magic and his sword skills when he learned that he could infuse a weapon with his Source and created his blade, Sorrow. Later, on the planet he hailed from alongside his brothers, he found his horse. He knew it had to be his horse because it matched his colours perfectly and just oozed sadness and as such just matched him perfectly. It took a while but he eventually managed to tame the horse and then discovered that he shared a strange link with the beast and that they almost seemed to connect with each other, knowing almost exactly what the other was going to do.

Many, many years later more beings came to the planet and despite taking heavy casualties and being inferior in almost every way to the Horsemen they somehow captured them, Misery was one of the easier ones to catch because of his low confidence and belief in his abilites compared to most of the horsemen as such it only took a small amount of time before he was captured and kept in a dark cave, bound and restricted in magic to sit there for many thousands of years. While there he had no chance to train in magic or swords, thereby reducing his skill in both areas although he never forgot how to do either so he wasn't completely stripped of his power. Outside the cave the lifeforms waxed and waned, the originals dying off and therefore the legend of the horsemen was lost and no one knows about them anymore.

Misery hadn't even bothered to count the time until the bonds broke, he just thought that he'd be there forever because he was such a failure and as such thought that it was almost an eternity he had been there for, in fact he had been imprisoned for 40,000 years almost to the day when the bonds and wards finally broke upon the Eight Horsemen and they regained their powers. All eight of them prepared themselves to do whatever the hell they wanted to as they walked to the entrance of the cave, taking several hours to do so and then emerged into the starlight of their planet, looking around with pale faces and weary eyes.

RP Sample: If I may direct your attention towards Luna City which should be a fine RP sample.

Approved, although level six in any area is only to be used during events(member or staff generated, that is), elsewise treat as level five. Fer all the difference it makes with physical strength, anyways. :P
