The Vacation House
Stop.A bright light surrounded the likes of Chal and Cole as they suddenly appeared in what was... Well. Evidently, a log cabin. The room was quaint, decorated with a woman's touch, lighted only by the great outdoors, through a few windows which sat quietly on the walls. Where were they? Neither had seen this place before.
"What... What the hell was that?" Cole asked. Chal silently considered the possibilities as he walked towards one of the open windows, trying to figure out just where they were. Through the glass, he could see an expanse of green grass, the valleys of the Outerverse. He had been here a few times, and recognized the place almost instantly.
"We're in the Outerverse," Chal revealed.
"The whaterverse?" Cole asked, confused.
"You mean to tell me that you are the grandson of K2323, and a Tyris at that, yet you don't know of the Outerverse?"
"I... Uh..."
Chal sighed. "The Outerverse is a dimensional core... You do know what... Dimensional cores are, right? The giant center that dimensions on each charge rotate. The power source. But this is the outer part of the Outerverse, of course... The part that generates energy is further down, underground."
"O-oh. Right."
Cole did remember, vaguely, learning of Dimensional Cores during his Dimensions Class, but he hadn't been paying much attention to the Royal Tudor. His lessons were quite a bore, and he often wished he had more kids -- besides his sister -- to play with. Of course, he'd outgrown that, but he still got... Lonely.
"So this place," Cole replied, "Is one of those... Dimensional cores?"
"Right," Chal replied, "Your grandfather protects it, though from what I hear your uncle Fiske has been taking care of things here lately. He's got a nice place here... Does he live here?"
"Nah," Cole replied, "Uncle Fiske lives in the palace in K City. But... He does go on vacations sometimes. I guess this is where he comes."
Appearing near the two now was K2323, with the bag headed man swung over his shoulder. Setting the man down on a couch, he glanced over to the two, eyes full of concern. He needed information. These two had information. They had to act quick.
"You," he said first, glancing at Chal, "Quickly."
K2323 needed to say no more. Over the last eight years that the two had been training together in the Genesis Kingdom, Chal had learned to understand K2323 in few words. He quickly thought of where to begin with his explanation, but he was having a hard time putting things together himself.
"Uh," he replied, "We arrived. Hikaru and Chaos were fighting. She threatens him. He responds. She... Uh... The one with the cloak, I mean... Kills him. Like, out of nowhere, fire... I think she used... Plane shifting, but I'm not sure. I think it was Decide Fire. That's the one that burns the... Spirit, right?"
"Right. And my mother?" K2323 replied.
"She tried to save him and got caught in the fire."
"I see."
"Sorry, m-"
"Now's not the time," K2323 replied, "Next. You. Cole. What're you doing here?"
"The Genesis King sent us on a mission," Cole replied.
"Mokai?" K2323 asked.
"No," Chal replied, "It was the first King... But, it was like... He wasn't really there. Like it was a hologram or something."
"I... See," K2323 replied, "Does this mission involve finding the Keepers?"
"Yeah," Cole replied.
"I think my sister just murdered them all... Zere, Hikaru, and the Genesis King are all that's left. Chal, you find Zere. Cole... I can't bring you with me. It's too dangerous. Stay here with this guy," he said, indicating the Bag Headed Man, "You'll be safe here. If you need me, use telepathy to contact me."
"U-uh," Cole replied, "Telepathy?"
"What's my son been teaching you?" K2323 groaned, "Just... Focus on my magic signature and use magic to send your thought through it."
"R-right," Cole replied.
"Alright. Be back soon."
And with that, Chal disappeared, and K2323 shortly after him. Leaving the teenager, Cole, with the guy who's head was covered by a bag and who was in a coma. Curious, Cole contemplated trying to remove the bag over his head. Finally getting up the curious, he attempted to do so...
