You don't have to go home...
« on: August 30, 2012, 05:35:42 PM »
Poof. Wisps of blue smoke, faint and gone in seconds. Looking out across a great savannah, Misery sucked in it's dizzying heat, reveling in it's majestic and unique nature. He smelled deep the smell of a wide open world... And caught the scent of his kin a couple miles off. A herd of elephants, the image he chose for his physical form. Though his mouth was incapable of expressing it, Misery smiled to himself. He could have teleported, or opened a portal and seen them in seconds... But instead he shed his white robe. As soon as he let go of it, it turned to ashes. He stood naked like nature, scars covering his blue body in numerous places. The dead hot air consumed him ravenously, his sweat pores started working.
5 years, and he still enjoyed the little parts of being corporeal. Misery was the most unusual of Revenge's forms, being oddly sentimental. Misery's worshipers were known to be unusual. They would meditate for hours, their behavior could be erratic and unpredictable. But they were the ones with the deepest Taints.
Misery set out across the landscape, enjoying the heat, sweat... Simply enjoyed existing. As he walked he thought on the things that would come, and the actions of his two counterparts. He could feel them, and in an odd way he WAS them. Together, but separate. It was a contradiction of amazing proportions, and Misery had long contemplated on the implications of being three places at once. At the end of many meditations, his only conclusions were to stop thinking about it so much.
He could feel Hate... Pummeling. He was beating someone to a pulp. He tried to embrace the feeling and feel what his counterpart was feeling, but drew back with a shudder. He couldn't believe that much anger could come from... Himself. This Threeform often awoke uneasy introspective revelations. He couldn't tell what Blame was up to, and chose to block him out too. This time was his.
It took him a little over an hour but it didn't feel like it. He reached the herd, and they didn't draw back from him. In fact, they drew closer. He was kin. Misery practically glowed with satisfaction, and as him and a large bull touched trunks, he felt...

At home.

The touch of trunks said more then words ever could. Misery gazed up at him in shock.
"Why do you choose this?" He asked aloud, gazing into the eyes of his kin. After brief deliberation, the reply can.
We exist. But we are not alive. Misery stared into the bull's inner being. There was so much there that had never been forgotten. So much pain. So many broken dreams. Dissapointment.
If there was a fourth Prophet, that would be his name. In many ways, that was the fourth part of Revenge.  Deep in that old, powerful body was the desire. No matter how pure the motive begins to be, Revenge will skew it. And though the Bulls heart was honest, it held the weight of a twisted world and it longer for justice. Retribution. REVENGE. The cycle had already started.

Misery was only finishing it.
