Plex's Cliffhanger
« on: September 18, 2012, 10:31:44 PM »
So, at the end of the event with Plex, and I mean the very end, someone spoke in red letters implying something along the lines of, "If you thought Plex was tough, then wait until you meat his creator." I'm only just remembering this now, but then it seemed really clear what direction the story of SP and later events would go in. But we didn't. Instead we had something completely new. Now, anyway, what I'm really wondering is what happened to that idea?

We won't have that plot because you all voted that staff events suck and for staff not to make events. Believe it or not, the magic going away was PART of the plot. Along with tech to follow soon after. Not Lyoko's version, but later tech was supposed to gradually fade as Existence literally fell a part. But you know, people have to complain and all that and instead of waiting through it and doing what they can they ruin it because they're impatient.

* Nisorin sighs.

I told you guys to just go along with it, and I didn't even know what was going on.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Hik, they voted that THAT Event sucked, not all of them. -_-

As for the tech going away...No, no, Im not even going to reopen that. That wasn't their views, they've already explained why they didn't like that event on a fundamental level, you apparently dont agree or dont understand their explanation, we get it. Lets not bring that up again and start a big argument over it.

Not everyone agreed with them.
And I'm not talking about Lyoko's tech event.

But seeing as it will never come to pass! HERE!
K2323 normally shares every event or plot he plans with me and usually end up combining events. I won't reveal specifics on his part, just summarize.  He was going to reveal the man behind Plex's creation who has a loooong backstory that involves many of his former characters. It would have been revealed this person was behind many things that happened in the backstories, MANY. The person also would have been behind the current things, like part of why Time was falling a part and books disappearing? Him. Why the magic event when normally only lasted 3 days was taking so long? The burden on time and thus him as well.

Due to the destruction of time little by little it was causing existence itself to collapse starting with the first form, magic. That's why that event was prolonged. Eventually the second form would have gradually faded away, Tech Existence. (Not all tech, just the higher existence and reality defying ones aka everything that wouldn't work in real life.) And finally after everyone would have had to work together just to survive, Spiritual existence would be threatened and that's where the true battle would start to try to save EVERYONE not just a select group as everyone in existence, of existence, and existence itself would have been threatened. The Arami scrolls being the key to fixing everything where it would have been revealed to everyone teamed up about them and a race to get them would have ensued while others tried to fight off the villain with what they had access to.

It would have been truly a fight for survival of the entire RP.

THEN when everything was saved the scrolls would have been agreed upon to be sealed with temptation to take them and control everything on every side. Through THAT eventually K2 would have introduced and even stronger and more involved enemy that would have been behind the enemy faced. This would have spanned seasons for the third one.

...But people did not want to wait, they wanted to complain, bitch and not even try to get involved. And I don't care what you say at this point, they didn't even try. So K2 as is apparent every damn time he's asked about events apparently is not going to do staff driven events anymore because no one wants them.

So it won't ever happen. Deal with it, have fun.

For the record, I don't know of a single person who complained about the event where magic disappeared. Logan, Zak, Hiro, and I were complaining about the disappearance of tech. I, and I know for a fact Zak, liked the Eclipse event, but hated the Alpha. The combination crippled any groups of characters that were not already together, plus, in my personal opinion, there should never be two events going on at once. It drags down both. I also remember no such poll for no more staff events. Like Hiro just said, we only didn't like that event. Looking at what you told us about your plans, it seems the staff (or maybe just Lyoko) was getting impatient. If tech was supposed to fade as a part of existence, what was to point of killing it off way earlier?

The staff didn't get impatient. We were trying to save the site from dying (it was very inactive at that point) by introducing a second event on top of the first. It instead ended up completely killing the site. This is not the time to argue about rather the Tech Event was a good idea or not. The fact is, even before that point, everyone was criticizing Eclipse, claiming it was "repetitive" of Plex and using a formula and staff controlled and bla bla bla. People may have loved Eclipse but that's irrelevant now.

We will have more staff events. I personally led the Plex Event, our only "event" of Season 4, which we played up to throughout the entire season. P3C, which was officially between S4 and S5, was Lyoko222's, and in retrospect it was probably my favorite event. In Season 5, we've tried, over the last six months to a year now (since January), several different events, all with mixed disappointment on the part of both staff and members alike. I myself led up two parts of the Eclipse Event -- the Excel Tournament and Dreamship. Both failed in epic proportions, and I admit they were kinda lame events anyway.

The staff events we have over the next few months? I dunno. Any of the other staff members who have an idea know to pitch it and they can be in charge of it if they want. But as for me, I don't intend to manage any staff events as big as Eclipse was planned to be for months now. I may lead a few small ones.

As for the creator of Plex. I set it up so that the creator, as detailed a bit by Hik above, would be one of the prime antagonists for the season. Yes, his back story is very elaborate, but his exploits throughout the season have/were planned to definitely be shaped by the members, not myself. Will I continue my planned plot with the character? Maybe, but it'll be in a way much different than what I originally planned if I do, and it won't be for some time.
