SoP: EASS: Emotive Adaptive Shielding Solution

A new personal and heavy shielding system prototyped by the Ancient Caorrn Relorians, completed and reinforced by the Sons of Plunder. The full capabilities of this system are still yet to be seen, though it has already been found to be roughly fifteen times as efficient as current shielding systems. The efficiency is more of a perk, however, compared to the original goal of the prototype.

The following pictures display the few ways the prototype was utilized during Caorrn testing:

Here, the tester is utilizing mass-shifting effects of the shielding unit to create a hidden projectile by drawing metals out of the ground.

The tester was dropped out of an orbiting ship, using the shield to alter both the gravity around her and the mass of herself and the surrounding atmosphere to enable an orbital troop drop without any extra equipment.

An unintended discovery during an attack on the research and development lab, the tester used the shielding system to, rather than the expected linear shield-wall attacks, shift the shield into a very precise, small blade utilizing rotary motion to slice through enemies, invisibly tethered to the tester's fingers.

Again during an attack on the research center, a heavily wounded tester backed into a corner let his emotions fuel the shielding system. Coupled with his already instinctive mindset during the attack, the shield around him shifted into a multi-armed beast with shield-blade claws and teeth, showing the system capable of interacting with more than just active, surface thoughts despite the lack of programming for such an input source.

The reasons as to why the project was halted are as yet unknown, though the numerous mid-battle discoveries and the time-stamps on the data entries suggest the research center was destroyed before the project could be completed, near towards the end of Caorrn civilization. The Sons of Plunder have taken up the project, completing the integration with the Relorian Weave for power, running safety tests for Sierrensa monks using the system, and incorporating radiation-shielding techniques to lower the ease of detecting the shield's EM signature. The mass and gravity altering effects come from innovations regarding the usage of natural shield properties, as well as small shifts within the new Curicite ion that functions as the core of the units.
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.
