Chasing Rumours
« on: September 20, 2012, 03:45:15 PM »
A flash of light and he, or it, stood there, magnificent in his dark blue and golden armour. The being was known simply as Lazule and he, for it was presumed to be male, wondered briefly if his reputation preceded him even here but he highly doubted it, he was nothing after all, just another speck floating around in the wide expanse that was the universe. Lazule lived on though for that was all he could do if he wanted to find out about himself, living was the only thing that mattered though, well that and finding somewhere that could help him find out what happened to him. It was this second goal that brought him to this massive ship, Pleasure Planet it was called and Lazule knew only the most basic facts about it although he had already been hunting rumours for a while now.

The large Lapis Lazuli coloured suit of armour stepped into the main lobby of a rather shady casino he had found after a long walk around. All through his walk he had heard hushed whispers, quiet words and scared mutterings about some group, the Sons of Plunder, who were looking for recruits or information, maybe Lazule had a chance with them but he would find out soon enough. The construct stepped to the receptionist and seemed to glare at him before whispering "I have followed words and whispers and I hear that someone here knows about the Sons of Plunder? I wish to know this for certain." Lazule only hoped that someone did know about them, maybe they could help him or at least give him something to do, he was sick of being useless.

((Nisorin, I was wondering if you could control the receptionist and such as you command the SoP, also, sorry for the short post, I couldn't think of much))

She looks to him, confused. "Sons of Plunder? I'm afraid I've never heard of them. Are they a music group? I could check the concert schedule if you like." She says, giving a well-practiced, sympathetic frown. "You might try asking some of the bartenders or club bouncers. They tend to be more connected to the rumor mills then we are."
Seeing the world through a child's eyes is truly a unique experience. It helps you to retrieve that sense of awe, magic and wonder that you lost as you lost your innocence. Tell me, when was the last time that you thought of those childhood dreams? You know, the ones that you used to spend all your time wondering and fantasizing about? Have you forgotten them so easily? Have you forgotten what it felt like to see something for the first time, to see the magic in the mundane? Everyone says you should take the time to 'Stop and smell the roses'. But you should also take the time to look for the fairies, embrace the wind and enjoy the rain. Just once today, stop for a moment and look into that little piece of nature you pass everyday. Perhaps you may see something you did not notice before.

Patrons gazed curiously as his exquisite armor, but most looked on. Pleasure Planet was a hub of intergalactic travel, it was hard to surprise anybody here. At the bar two beautiful girls weaved skillfully, mixing cocktails, opening beers, and pouring liquor. They had a peppy demeanor, and easy smiles strategically granting large tips.

An oversized bouncer in a derby hat chomped on a cigar near the doorway the man had entered from. He kept an anxious eye on a gentleman at one of the black jack tables, a man dressed a little too fancy for this casino.

(I won't get in your way, just giving you guys options.)

Green visor slits scanned the room as Lazule wondered on who to ask next, there were a few possible targets but he knew that the people who heard the most rumours would be the barkeepers. Lazule turned his large mass and walked up to the bar, his sword clinking quietly against his thigh and glowing softly with quietly thrumming runes of power etched into the blade. Lazule walked straight up to the two girls at the bar and glared at them, well he wouldn't have done but he could only seem to glare through his unblinking green eye slits. "Excuse me m'dears? Do you know anything about the Sons of Plunder?" His voice was a bare whisper and held a small trace of magic, a barely noticeable spell that made those who heard the words have a lot more difficulty lying, they would manage it and to them it would be fine but Lazule would pick up on it.

One of them didn't hear him, too busy taking customers' orders and flashily filling them. The other, however did. Brunette, with a bit of green showing at the roots revealing it to by dyed brown, turns to look at Lazule with brilliant eyes as green as grass under a clear sky. "You seek the Sons? That group's become nearly a myth in these parts. Most of the so called sightings are just panicked conjecture from drunks. Why waste your time looking for a myth?" She asks, clearly avoiding the question.

Amongst a group of friends, a man glances over, taking stock of Lazule, memorizing his appearance and magical signature, before laughing at a joke one of his friends had shared.

He would've smiled if he could, she had deflected the question almost expertly but Lazule wasn't quite finished yet. "That may true but all myths are founded in truth, however small that truth may be. I would like to know what you know about the Sons, no matter how ridiculous it sounds or if it is just a "myth"." The armoured soldier cocked his head over to the man who glanced at him and then looked away, something didn't seem quite right here. "Also, I apologise for not ordering a drink, I am unable to drink although I'll pay for the information should it please you?" He rested a hand on his blade, something he done as a reassurance to himself rather than trying to actually threaten anyone.

She glances at his sword, and frowns, glancing to the bouncers before looking back at him. "They're a dangerous lot. With ambitions higher than any of the current Great Empires. Bes' watch your back, Mr. Armour. The Sons aren' the onleh' ones lookin' for people seeking 'em. They got a lot o' enemies, enemies who wouldn't mind interfering with recruiting." She says, making the other bartender glance at him nervously, before they both go back to their jobs, clearly unwilling to speak with him any further.

The man and his group of friends get up, paying their tab and laughing raucously as they head out, all but one bound for a club down the street. He breaks off from the others just outside the building, reporting his findings.
