Birds of a Feather
« on: September 28, 2012, 02:31:51 PM »
Auri flew around in the vast depth of space. A planet systen here an nevula there. A dragon accompanied her.

Auri's feather glowed with a brilliant shade of a blue green, small space debri(like small parts from a nebula) sparkled around her feathers. The dragon along side released trails of a whispy blue-purple that changed color and spread out. That too was space debri.

Blackout sighed"Auri, do you think there are more beings like us? Not ones on those.... Rocks... But those who live and breathe and feed on space like we do?"

Auri glanced at the dragon"Maybe... You feel it too sometimes? That we aren't alone? I remember phoenixes in space from when I was little but.... Never another space dragon"

Blackout flipped around to release some more extra space color,"Maybe we'll run into a phoenix soon? Or hopefully a space dragon?"

Silver upon black flashed across space as Empty soared through the vast void. He was a Phoenix Sage, one who had only ever met one other of his own type and as such he was trying to find others like him, if there were any others left. There has to be though, I can't be the last... can I? He thought glumly as he soared. The Sage was in his Phoenix form at the moment, his long silver feathers ending in a black that faded into the background upon which he flew.

A short flight later and sharp eyes caught sight of other beings, two of them flying through the same medium, or lack thereof, that he was. Well hello there. He gave his large wings a flap and shot towards them. He would be rather obvious coming towards them, a flash of silver and a trail of dark purple particles following behind him as space debris and dust caught his wings and went scattering around the Sage.

Empty Sky drew up sharply in front of the two of them, one of whom looked like himself but about half as large and a sea-green colouration. "A phoenix..." He breathed as his white, black and gold eyes widened. He then gave a small cough and spoke in a crisp, rather cold voice. "Greetings there, I did not expect to just find other beings flying around the depths of space so this is quite a surprise. I am Empty Sky, it's nice to meet you both." His mind was racing even as his voice stayed calm, he hadn't expected beings and much less a Phoenix, this was something that would be quite enlightening for the relatively young Phoenix Sage.

Auri and Blackout glanced at each other cluelessly. A coincidence....? Maybe... Auri glanced back at the large avian before her"Uh.... Hi?" Blackout, who was trying really hard not to laugh at Auri's fail reaction, said"You can do better than that Auri!"

The charcoal-black and sea-green phoenix looked at her friend and huffed at her. She returns staring at the large silver bird"I'm Auri and this is Blackout."

"Better.."

"Shut it Blackout! Anywho, we're just travelling.... And... What are you doing...?"

Empty cocked his avian head to the side as he observed the Phoenix before him, about half his size but he was uncertain of her strength, she was absolutely pure blood though, unlike himself. At that thought, he could feel the white and black rune on the back of his neck burn slightly but he was used to it by now, it happened a lot for some reason.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Auri and you too Blackout, I was not expecting to actually find others out here in the dead of space" He looked over them both and then turned away to look off into space. The rune on the back of his neck was just visible, a strange white and black glow.

"As to what I was doing, I was heading to a place called Lus, I've heard things about it and I was flying for a while to get my bearings straight before I went there and I stumbled upon you two, rather interesting I would say" He flicked his feathers slightly on his wings and closed them to his body, looking around warily.

He was worried about asking his question and as such, he just stayed quiet for now, hopefully he would get them to come along but it was just a hope.

"Hey whasthat?"Blackout says, flying around to see an odd character glowing along his back."Whasthat on your back?"She asks again.

Auri"Oh uh...Lus? Well... We just travel in space...We don't pay attention to the planets' names or anything." Auri glances at blackout"What's what?" She flies over"Huh...What an odd mark, what is that?"

The rune upon the back of Empty's neck appeared like a winged circle with three lines going through it in an asterisk like fashion. The lines and wings were bright white but the circle was pure black. The Phoenix looked around to the two of them and would've scowled if he could, he hated the rune of the Bladecaster.

"That, Auri and Blackout, is the Rune of the Bladecaster, which is what I am." He sighed and ruffled his feathers slightly before turning around to face them, hiding the rune once again so it couldn't be seen anymore.

Blackout stared cluelessly"Whassat? Wha's a bladecaster?"

Auri's head cocked to the side in a curious fashion"You make it sound like a curse..."

"A Bladecaster is a specialist type of mage, our other magic is always weaker however and that is why I make it seem like a curse. My Phoenix magic has been severely weakened because of it" He sighed and focused for a moment.

As he focused, a small light appeared before his face and a six foot length of white magic appeared before him. Through the centre of the white blade there was a black core and he spun the weapon around. As he done so, Auri and Blackout would feel a slight gravitic pull from the blade. "This is what truly marks us, our blades."

Auri and blackout watched quietly. Blackout"He's boring..."  Auri hit Blackout with a wing"No, he's just different. Be nice."

Blackout grins"Auri likes whatshisface~. Auri likes whatshisface~!"

Auri"I do not!" Her feathers ruffled and poofed out to make herself look larger.

Empty cocked his head to the side and banished Saviour. "So then Blackout, I am boring to you?" He sighed and shook his head slightly before hearing the dragon's next words and letting out a quiet laugh. "I highly doubt that, as said, I am boring."

The silver Phoenix looked over Auri and shook his head, she seemed like the Phoenix he had met in his earlier years but he doubted it very much and he just flared his massive wingspan out again. Seventy-five feet of silver and black wing shot out and he looked around.

"So then, Auri, Blackout? Would you like to accompany me to Lus?" He would've smiled and instead just gave his wings a gentle flap.

Blackout sighed"Not like we got anything else to do."

Auri shuffled her wings and nodded"I guess it'd be nice to visit a planet but.... Blackout might end up staying around the planet's spacial atmosphere."

Blackout grins sheepishly"Eheh, Planet air pressure crushes me.... So yeah. I'll end up waiting for you two lovebirds to get back out in space"

The Phoenix let out a small huff and then nodded before ruffling his wings and turning around, the rune on his neck becoming visible once again against the silver of his feathers.

"Well then, I suggest you follow me and we can call it a date" He laughed quietly and flapped his wings, forcing a slight amount of magic behind them to actually give him some thrust which sent him forwards. He was going to get to a better area to teleport first and he had to remember the co-ordinates he was given so he could actually do so without ending up inside of something which would not be pretty at all, should it happen.

Auri flapped her wings and a wonderful trail flew from her feathers. It sparkled in shades of green. Blackout followed, fur releasing shades of purple and blue-green. Auri"A date hm? It feels a bit early. We barely got to know each other."

Blackout"D'awwww! Are you two goin out?"

Empty's eyes widened slightly and spun around to fly backwards, facing back towards Blackout and Auri. "M-merely a turn of phrase my friend" He seemed slightly flustered though and turned away before it could be noticed anymore. His own trail was silvery-white and seemed almost like snow in space as he flew forwards and focused his magic. "Do you two know how to follow a teleport?" He called back, waiting for a response before activating his spell.

The silver Phoenix ruffled his feathers slightly and stopped flying to turn around to face them, his own feathers had fluffed up slightly but he tried to fight it back and not make it noticeable, so far he was failing somewhat terribly. "Excuse me Blackout, my name is Empty, I would rather you use it" He whispered to the dragon but didn't seem that bothered, it was mainly to deflect from the subject the dragon was on.

"Empty? Empty..... A glass half empty!"Blackout said. Auri"Blackout.... That's a little harsh... I think you might have taken in too much star debri....."

Blackout nodded"yeah maybe. Mhm!" Auri"Please forgive her Empty. When she has too much debris, she can be a little silly.."

Blackout's words caused the Phoenix to sigh, it was a rather accurate assessment of him but he didn't like to be reminded of that and he cast his gaze downwards. "I wouldn't worry about it Auri, I've been called much worse before." He gave a slight wingshrug and then looked around for a moment. "I suggest that you follow my teleport and we'll be at Lus before you know it. You do know how to follow, correct?"

Auri"There must be a nebula nearby... Blackout kinda goes crazy near star explosions and a large amount of material they leave... She's kinda...Uh.."

Blackout"I tend to be weird near power yes, but it gets worse the closer I am to space debris that's really close."

Empty Sky cocked his head to the side and looked over the space dragon. "I have never met a Space Dragon before, so I wouldn't exactly know but I suggest we get going then if she becomes somewhat...hyper around space debris." He then spun around and slashed his wing through open space, opening up a portal to Lus. It wasn't quite as power efficient but it would do for now and reduce hassle. Empty then moved to the side slightly and indicated the portal with a wing. "Ladies first" He whispered and bowed to them both.

Blackout rushed through"WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"she cries. Auri flies towards the portal and stops to nod at Empty. "Thank you", she says before flying into the portal

Empty sighed softly and shook his head, although he would've been smiling if he was able to in pure form. "To Lus" He whispered and then turned and fired into the portal which closed behind him in a bright burst of silver sparkles that spread out from the closing point.
