Jabra Mark 2-Class Corvette: The WWB are long gone, but their vessels received some attention from other parties. For the most part, their ship designs were rather standard, and indeed, mostly outclassed by current technology. However, some certain vessels were useful platforms for revamping. The
Jabra-class Corvette became infamous after the fall of the WWB as an incredibly fast and useful pirating and smuggling vessel. Some of these vessels were captured by interested parties and were studied and updated. Many
Jabras are still in service, their antimatter fuel cells ripped out for more conventional power sources.
The Mark 2 was developed from a captured
Jabravessel, but is not entirely like it. It is a little longer than the previous model with bigger cargo holds, but it is also lighter because more of it's critical systems are slimmed down with new and advanced systems, especially without it's antimatter fuel cells. The ship now relies on a more familiar nuclear reactor. The ship's bridge has five seats, a main pilot, co-pilot, systems manager, navigator, and a captain seat which directs all others. There is also a sub-bridge for the gunnery crew, with contains over a dozen seats to manage the armament the
Jabra Mk.2 is equipped with. It features a dozen double pulse turrets, which have two incredibly rapid fire guns a piece. These can be managed in bunches, so one gunner can man all 24 guns at once. It is also equipped with six medium pulse turrets, which are an upscaled version of the first. They pack a decent wallop and still fire quickly. These are still a light armament compared to other ships of a similar class, but it makes up for it by being incredibly maneuverable and fast. It also has one launcher turret on the main bridge that can only be manned. This launcher turret features small double rail guns capable of delivering high yield pay loads like nuclear and EMP with great accuracy. While shields are active, the crew can still fire all weapons as the shielding is mostly one sided. However, some energy is absorbed by the shielding on it's way out, recycling that energy back into the shields but making the guns marginally weaker.
The ship features and FTL drive, and the most important part: a Angel-Shield II generator which surprisingly high yield for it's small size, capable of putting up with heavy turrets beating for about ten minutes, and can survive a limited amount of missile strikes. However, it is also light compared to others in it's class, but makes up for it with the shielding's unique properties. As far as practical matters, The ship has two sanitary stations, housing six toilets and six shower heads, and bunking for 30. There is a special sanitary station near the bridge for the officers, and six rooms for each of the main officers. The sixth room doubles as a brig. It also features a small no frills galley. To cut down on weight, the ship features no life vessels or rec room. In total, the vessel is a little over 400 sq. ft., and has almost 200 sq. ft. worth of cargo space. It also features an advanced communication array that can communicate with incredible precision over extreme distance, and can cut through most jamming attempts, and has secure encryption transmission codes that are developed new every twelve hours by an on board computer. Additionally, and AP and AT field are raised on board in case of emergency, but crew can wear clips that enable them to bypass that field. An AM field can be raised for a radius of about a mile around the ship.
Minimal crew requirement: 6 Recommended: 12 Maximum: 30
Pictured here.Angel-Shielding II: The WWB developed some useful technology, but besides their use of anti-matter, they were unremarkable. But their Angel-shielding was a unique and useful energy shielding, and with experimentation, was brought up to current standards. Veritas & Zelini bought out certain research companies that were working on adapting the aging and relatively unknown technology, and put the new breakthrough to use in every level of their new developments.
Mark 2 Angel-Shielding draws on the strengths of it's predecessor: Adaptability. It's very basic nature mean it can be powered by damn near anything in about any size of configuration desired, from combat armor to titan shielding. Throughout all these variables, the nature of the shielding remains the same: when activated, they stop harm from reaching whatever it encases. It acts as a blunt shield against most projectiles, i.e., melee and firearm and magic, but with certain tech energies, like pulse weaponry or plasma, it actually quickly adapts to the same energy wave and absorbs it, taking more if it into itself. Some of the energy is lost, but once absorbed the shields become stronger than they were before.
