Now that they were closer they would be able to see it appeared to be made entirely of cobblestone, but laid out so well it was smoother then many brick walls. If they focused on the crystals, they would realize that the crystals were doing something. There was an almost inaudible hum. The crystals were in fact, relaxing those who were nearby, making them calmer and less likely to lash out. The gate, on the other hand, was made of a solid, gold-colored metal, and had curved lines steeply spiraling toward the center. One quick look, as well as a bit of knowledge in basic technology, would tell the viewers that this gate would open in a circle, like the aperture on a camera.
