Greetings everyone!
I've added what I'm told is a very ugly theme (I quite like it myself) for the Halloween season! I've also discussed the upcoming event with staff and have gotten feedback from at least half of them, but everyone seems pretty excited about it. So, here's some more information:

Date Of Event's Start *OOC*: 13 October 2012
Date Of Event's End *OOC* HOPEFULLY midnight on the night of Halloween/morning of November the first.
Okay, so what's the event? Things are heating up in the universe. There's a new war being waged against the Anrufe. South, the infamous realm of the dead and home of the wicked in the afterlife, has mysteriously been destroyed. The afterlife is a mess, and the embodiments don't know what to do with the dead now as the Spirit Realm starts to fill up with people in need of judgement. But what happens when there's no more room for the dead?

Prepare for one of the most frightening events of the roleplay as we take horror to a whole new level.

Everyone's invited to a halloween-ish masquerade. More or less along the lines of The wonderfultastic idea by PythosBlaze. Their event was an inspiration for me.

Whoa cares if they gave permission, it's still using someone else idea which just makes us look lame and unoriginal. I prefer K2s event, it may be cliche', but at least it's originally his, and not something he had to go borrow from another user.

Get it through your damn skull woman. Originality is near non existent. There might be another pink haired "Dragon phoenix" sage somewhere. I changed it into a masquerade. It's a total crime that I wanted actual non violent fun for once.

But K2 thought the plot up in the moment using an unoriginal idea. You on the other hand went and grabbed something someone else thought up and dragged it to SP, it's different.

If you DIDN'T then you wouldn't have had to credit or asked to use it. The fact you went and did either shows it was never your idea. Original or not, at least K2s idea was his.

That's like Hawk going and borrowing something from a show/game/book because he 'liked' the idea and using it on SP. EVEN if he had the creators permission, or changed one thing about it. It doesn't matter, sure he could do it, as he has permission. But it still makes us look lame as hell.

It's on the internet. It's perfectly fine with Pythosblaze for me to do it. She's not screeching like you are about it. Stop making a bi deal about it and let me have fun on this forum, Miss Uptight and Set-In-Stone.

My post was simply saying it makes us THE ENTIRE FORUM look lame to use an idea of someone else. ALLOWED OR NOT. No matter if you changed it, the fact that it was an idea passed around with small changes here and there recently (2010 is still recent) makes us look lame that we can't come up with our own crap.

It makes it mainstream, which is just ugh.

First you get on our case about being fantasy with Sci-Fi and not being 'realistic' now you want to say the entire foundation and reason SP is even here is lame? Fighting is how this damn RP started, it's the entire point of this RP (taking over territories in fights, and 'winning it all') and the main basis of being here.

Sure, there's character development, side plots, events, and SOME peace, but you can't just ban fighting from an event IC because you think it shouldn't happen OOC. The entire board is NATION-BUILDER

Nation builders aren't always going by military means. Some go financially and others by unity.

Nah, I'm just repeating myself. Personally, I'm only here to roleplay with awesome people like blade(and others who left because this site bores them). Fighting is not the base of the roleplay. I thought it was NATION BUILDING. You could buy a territory from another empire. You could form alliances and/or unite with nations. Just plain fighting is boring and you should feel boring. /shotformemeuse.

I'm not banning fights IC? I'm just saying I want the masquerade to be a nice atmosphere before someone shoves a barbed pole up their anus? And again, nation building RPs don't always have constant warfare around.

The whole ban fighting thing is to prevent assholes from ruining the event, and thus everyone's fun, like they did False Heaven. It could be held on a planet that doesnt allow fighting like that one we had... Magimeta?

Even in movies, if something is 'peaceful and fun' someone is always going to try to crash it.

OH And it's against the Policy in the Masquerade to cause harm.

Totally forgot to quote from the deviation:
-In formal clothing. Guys, think Classeh.
-Holding or Wearing their mask.
-YOUR CHARACTER. You can't use someone else's. You can draw someone else's character with your OC as long as you have their permission.
-Poses can't be too wacky guys! Try to be formal!
-Submit as many characters as you want, but again if the character is not yours: Make sure you have the owner's permissions!
-Gore/blood is allowed. It's near halloween after all! But "attacking" other characters is not allowed.(This includes attempting to terrorize the event)
-No explicit material. This means no nudes and no sexually related images.
-Comment here if you want your character in the Masquerade. Please give me the name and Height for each of them.
-Submissions end on the 23rd of October(Two weeks)
