Book Burners

A rend in space.

The space a few hundred thousand miles from the Ancient Chronicles was rent open in a dazzling array of red, black and white particles. The torn open space then spat out a series of ships. The first completely dwarfed the rest, this ship looked like five massive arms attached to a central ring but at the moment, the arms were closed flush with one another, leaving the ship looking like a bullet. This was Regicide the Titan of the Black Legion and never before seen.

The rest of the ships would be recognizable to the Ancient Chronicles, they would appear like Scythe Class Vionix Battleships and sure enough, they were all transmitting a Vionix IFF which would stop the AC shooting at them and allowing them safe passage towards the "library".

Once the ships got close enough, they stopped and took up formation against the station. The fourteen Murder Classes took place, seven aside, with the Titan and they just waited. What was actually happening was that the troops inside of the ship were mobilizing to move into the Ancient Chronicles and take it over. They had gained the knowledge of this area from the Fire Storm Academy files and now they were ready to take it over.

A transmission was sent to the Vionnix ships:

Quote
Vionnix ships, you are at a Narrikian outpost. May we inquire as to why you have come here?

The Captain of Regicide smiled an evil little smile as the message was patched through and she stood up before looking around at the crew of the Titan. They all smiled as well and just nodded to her and she sent a transmission back to them.

Quote
"Do not worry, we've had a long voyage and we are here to recharge and wait for a while before moving on, we will cause no harm."

As she sent the message though, the Captain started to charge up the weapons but didn't shunt any power to them yet, making it impossible to tell that the weapons would in fact be charging up to fire upon the Ancient Chronicles and sure enough, the soldiers were ready to move, all of them and tanks as well set up to teleport into the AC and take it over.

Nothing suspicious was noticed. The workers at the outpost went on with their day.

It was time, the Five Captains had decided and sent the order to the Captains of the every other ship. All at once, the entire fleet opened up with an extortionate amount of firepower, lasher cannons leaped forth first to contact any possible shielding and less than a second later, the Flash Cannons shot forwards in the wake of the Lasher Cannons. If these beams hit any metal, a tremendous explosion would occur as the atoms went through fusion.

At the exact same time that the weapons fired, an army teleported aboard the Ancient Chronicles. Fleets of tanks and scores of infantry went aboard. All of them lead from the front by the Five Captains. Instantly all the weapons of the army took out any opposition nearby, once done they would start to set up a forward base.

The firepower would meet heavy shielding as ancient defenses kicked in. The army that teleported in would find itself unable to escape as, among the defenses, AT and AP fields rose. Seeing as their was only a small number of people in the Ancient Chronicles, they managed to get to a more secure section of the outpost as the areas that the soldiers were in began to have their air supply vented into space.

Massive arcs of contained lightning attempt to rend their way through the shielding and if it didn't work then the explosions from the Flash Cannons hitting the shielding would be sure to take a large toll upon the shields. The ships just continued their firing, hoping to whittle down the shielding and then start wreaking havoc upon the actual station itself.

The people on the inside however, upon detecting the lowered air levels, sealed their armour to protect themselves and then set to work. The first thing they done was check out their troops and vehicles and the second was that several groups came together and tore open wormholes inside the station. These wormholes were unaffected by the AT and AP and from them they brought shield generators through and several battlesuits.

The Five Captains then tore open a wormhole of their own and leapt through it. This wormhole took them straight to the personnel of the vessel and the Five Captains arrayed themselves before them. "Give us the station and keep your lives." Was the only thing said, by all five, at once.

...Suddenly, a flashing, red alert began to appear on the walls of the station as a loud siren of sorts began to play, getting faster in time. It was like some sort of musical countdown where each sound represented time in some way. Something was about to happen.

As the alarm sounded, the Five Captains looked at one another and nodded. Dagger and Knight then turned around and opened another wormhole before stepping through and appearing in the control room of the Ancient Chronicles, the location they knew of because of the Fire Storm Academy, and started to get to work seeing what the alarm meant and then going to shut it down.

The other three Captains however, looked over the personnel and then all of them aimed their weapons. "Now then, tell us what this alarm means and how to switch it off and you may have your lives, if not.... then I think you'll know what happens."

"I-i-it's an explosive countdown," one of them explained. At that moment, news came over his comm about the other Narrikians leaving in some sort of emergency evac. They were all gone... He realized now that he and his men, of, maybe fifty, were all that was left of the Narrikian people in this dimension...

It was...

Useless.

"I have just received news that this station is the last outpost of the Narrikian people in this dimension. That makes me leader of these people. I officially surrender on behalf of my people."

He bowed his head in shame.

The Three Captains with the personnel, looked at one another and just nodded slightly before turning back. "We understand, now if you wish to stay the last of your species in this dimension then you will stop the explosives, lay down any arms you might be carrying and get back to work in this place as it is now under Black Legion control" The Black Legion weren't cruel people, they would feed the workers, let them sleep, give them holidays if they could afford them but only if they worked.

The other two Captains were now in the control room however, running through system checks to make sure the explosives would be shut down and looking through to see exactly what would be inside the Ancient Chronicles, including lists of the blueprints, digital prints, books, scrolls, anything the Ancient Chronicles might've been holding. It was a rather boring job though but they stayed on task, any slip up... could mean death.
