Of the Blood of Andromeda.
« on: October 17, 2012, 01:51:29 PM »
A tear in space appeared on the edge of Valince's system. From the rend appeared a ship. It was a sleek ship, onyx black with a silver name etched on the side, this name would be impossible to read though unless the person was a Vionix. The ship was named Armistice and it was a diplomatic vessel and a pathfinder, modified to have a quicker charging Hyper Drive system and heavier shielding but it had no weapons to speak of.

The ship sent out a message of peace and diplomacy as it speared towards the center of attention in the system, the planet that was mainly machinery, almost like one of the Vionix own planets. The ship was just hoping that it wouldn't get shot down but the fact that it had no weaponry and was transmitting a peaceful code hopefully told the spacefaring species here that the Vionix weren't here for war although depending on the reception given, it might just have to amount to that. They just hoped it didn't.

On the bridge of the vessel, the Captain was currently grinding her teeth quietly while another female sat on the arm of her chair. "So then, apparently this race is highly advanced and capable of magic." She continued on, like she had for the past twenty minutes but the Captain was sick of listening and instead had just zoned out, watching the orb that was Valince grow closer and closer to the viewscreens.

The Magister fleet was in orbit around Valince, and when the ship appeared in deep orbit broadcasting a peaceful message the Eliryale was sent out to meet them. Ararus was still the only person on board. Although the ship seemed fully repaired already; despite the damage it took during the battle with the Zarethians and Mechera.

A massive sphere was created out of soft-white energy between the two vessels, and within it stood Ararus, an energy tether linking back and forth between the Eliryale and the sphere.

It was a habitable area created in space. Neutral grounds.

Armistice slowed its path down and stayed a few dozen kilometers away from the sphere of white magic. The thrusters cut out but the shielding stayed up although the crew knew they probably wouldn't last long with the massive ship in front of them.

"Oh my, I'm up, aren't I?" The Diplomat on the bridge stood up and walked to a wall armory before selecting a Distortion Pistol and slotting it into a holster, she then checked her nails and nodded. "Well then, beam me over" One button press and a sigh of relief from the Captain and the diplomat was gone. "She... just didn't want to shut up" The Captain slumped back in her seat and ran a hand over her face.

In the sphere, a small white flash would occur and left in its wake was a Vionix. She was around 5'6" in height and was wearing a tight white shirt and trousers with a long white greatcoat over the top, concealing her pistol from prying eyes. She looked over to the other person there and smiled.

Ararus released a harmless pulse of sub-atomic particles. Effectively scanning the diplomat down to the very atom. Mostly organic with a large amount of mechanical implants, no "soul" or energy gathering organs were detected either. A weapon was located but it didn't seem to be that much of a threat. A mere pistol.

"Welcome to Valince, homeworld of the Magistracy. I'm Ararus." He introduced himself and his planet with a slight wave of his hand.

The Vionix nodded slightly and bowed back to him. "I thank you Ararus, I am Arimi of the Vionix Empire and this is my transport, Armistice." She stood up straight and crossed her arms over her chest and cocked her head very slightly to the right side. "Would you like me to get right to the chase or would you like to talk to me more? I am really rather boring" She laughed quietly and shook her head. Her own history was rather boring but not what she knew, she had learned a lot about a lot but most said she talked too much.

"I already know the chase dear Armini. You vessel contains elements we've only discovered in Andromeda. As do the implants inside you, your very body, your clothing, and that weapon on your hip. You'e not foreign to this galaxy, and even as widespread as we are we have yet to detect you. This means you're new to interstellar space travel. You are seeking allies, and exploring the cosmos around you. You've more then likely heard about us and decided to come say hello. Hoping we were in a gracious mood and decided to conduct some friendly treaty signing, eh?" Ararus smiled as the Eliryale stood in space behind him. It actually looked towards Armini with it's gigantic artificial eyes.

Arimi took a step back from Ararus and narrowed her eyes before stepping down and into a slightly defensive stance. "How did you know this? And they aren't implants, they are natural" She reached down and gently took a hold of her pistol before sliding it out of her greatcoat and pointing it towards the ground, her finger well away from the trigger. "Don't worry, I am just a bit overcautious about how you could possibly know this much about a race you've never encountered before, it strikes me as slightly odd." She stood up straight and rolled her shoulders, preparing herself in case anything were to happen.

"My eyes are not my only way to see." Ararus mentioned without any shred of emotion.

"A warning..I have the capability to atomize you and your entire vessel within nanoseconds. You could shoot me point blank with that weapon and it wouldn't produce enough lethal force to penetrate my first layer of skin. But I'd prefer to remain polite, and I don't see any need to wipe your species off the face of Andromeda." Ararus smirked at the prospect; aggression was in his genes.

"Have you ever wondered why the Andromeda galaxy has a severe lack in a variety of sentient species? You are staring at the apex predator of your entire galaxy, and while we have no reason to hide our violent history. We also have no reason to repeat it. We've already established dominance." He informed as thousands of images appeared on the lining of the sphere. Showing images of brutal genocides. Entire solar systems engulfed in flames, and some were just images of massive debris fields in space. The remains of planets and enemy fleets.

"To get to the point. We are not to be trifled with, lied to, betrayed, or cheated."

"Is that clear?" Ararus' face hardened at the question.

The female's face darkened as she looked over the other male as he just seemed to continually dig a deeper and deeper grave for himself. "You would do best to be careful about what you say, repercussions may come of attacking a diplomat and her vessel, ones that I'm sure the Magisters will not thrive off of."

She was sure she had seen this type of person before, the race seemed to value war and the strong over the weak. "Anyway, I doubt you'd even have the chance to hit me, speed is my game and I'm not too shabby with my aiming either." As she spoke, she blinked once more harshly than others and her eyes actually scoped in although Ararus would be unable to tell. At the moment, she was searching for weapons of his own and weaknesses in his person. If anything, she was going to aim for his throat or eyes, she was sure she could make the mark.

"You think you are the apex predator Ararus, you assume that you have killed most of the other sentient species, who is to say that others have came and you took the credit for it? I'll admit that the Vionix have not been spacefaring for long but we are not weak in the slightest and you would do well not to assume that, it has allowed others to die." She smiled and slid her finger onto her trigger. She hoped he was the kind of person that valued toughness and bravery and wasn't just a psychopath, if he was the latter however then she was probably going to have a fight on her hands.

"Perhaps a demonstration is in order." The crowned prince sighed as he raised his left hand into the air. His AMP activated and a his body was filled to the very brim with power. Funneling it outwards into a compact sphere in his palm, and without a word he crushed it in his palm. Transforming the energy into a high-energy exotic particle burst. Incredibly deadly to organics, and hell non-organics as well. But the amazing thing is the pulse just swirled around the two. A beautiful display of colors previously unknown; created by the exotic particles unique electromagnetic energy. It never made contact with either of the two..but they were surrounded by a cloud of swirling energetic death.

"My species is capable of manipulating any form of energy..we could actually travel across the stars without ships..but we prefer the luxury of a home on the go." Ararus informed as the particles were absorbed into the sphere around them, and he cracked his neck as his AMP powered down. Shutting the rift between the Andromeda's heart..and him.

As soon as Ararus mentioned a demonstration, Arimi acted as only a diplomat could in a situation like this, she acted rashly. The Vionix saw the energy building up and stepped forwards, much faster than any human would ever be able to manage and brought her pistol up in a flash, the barrel held neatly in front of the Magister's eye. He would be able to see a type of plasma building up in the bottom of the barrel and several extrusions all along the inside of the weapon. "I suggest we both calm down right now, I don't think either of us want to die and we'd rather that we do something productive rather than destructive." Her voice was quiet but her aim was steady and her eyes narrowed down, watching for even the slightest movement from him.

"Don't get me wrong, that was incredibly impressive but we still aren't to be trifled with, I assure you of that. You seem to be rather arrogant but I guess that can be accepted from what would appear to be a fantastic military record." She reached up and tapped her ear a few times, activating a small ear piece in case she had to leave quickly.

Ararus giggled as he looked down the barrel of the gun, a micro-portal appearing at the end with an output right behind the diplomat's head.
"You would've been fired upon if we didn't have productive intentions."

The truth of what Ararus said washed over the Vionix diplomat and she dropped the pistol from his eye before spinning it around and locking it into its holster.

"You have the truth of it, Magister, I apologise for my...rash actions" She stepped back and bowed down before standing up and sighing. "Is there any way I can now leave without being killed for my actions?"

"I see no need to take your life.. You're young, and still full of life. It would also be quite the way to shit on any sort of peaceful lasting alliance with your people. Which have already caught my interest." Ararus mentioned before he turned and started walking towards the Eliryale. "The Vionix are now considered allies of the Magistracy of Andromeda, but I am not of the merchant or military class. If you wish to negotiate trade agreements or military nonsense home back in a few days. I'll have informed the right people." Ararus called over his shoulder. He stopped as he reached the outer wall of the sphere, and as he turned with a sly grin on his face he bowed slightly.

"By the way..my full name is Ararus Kal Raev'eri. Crowned prince and heir to the Ebony Throne." Ararus disappeared as he finished his sentence.
